Short Communication on Fingerprint Image Enhancement Mayur S. Patil*, Sandip S. Patil Department of Computer Engineering, SSBT’s COET, Bambhori, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India

Abstract The fingerprint images are rarely of perfect quality, due to the reasons like variations in impression condition, skin condition, scanning devices or may be due to non-co-operative attitude of the subject. This degraded quality of image can result in a significant number of spurious minutiae being created and genuine minutiae being ignored. An essential step in studying the information of fingerprint minutiae is to reliably extract the minutiae feature from fingerprint images. Thus it is essential to employ image enhancement techniques prior to minutiae extraction to acquire a good number of consistent estimates of minutiae locations. The main objective of fingerprint image enhancement is to improve the ridge characteristics of the image, as these ridges carry the information of characteristics features required for minutiae extraction. Ideally, in a well-defined fingerprint image, the ridges and valleys should alternate and in a locally constant direction. This reliability facilitates the recognition of ridges and accordingly allows minutiae to be precisely extracted from the weak ridges. Thus, the fraud or noise has to be reduced through image enhancement techniques to get enhanced meaning of ridges aligned with valleys in the fingerprint images. Image enhancement techniques have been used in many applications such as Medical, Security and more, security is one of the primary research objectives for enhancing the original image. In the recent years, fingerprint registration have become more popular in identifying a person; be it on banking applications, Prisons, Bio-metric identity cards, etc. Therefore, developing strategies and algorithms for fingerprint enhancement, which could support more real-time applications would be an ideal choice for conducting the future research. Keywords: authentication, biometric fingerprint reader

ADVANTAGES BIOMETRICS is the regular identification of a human being based on his or her physiological or behavioral characteristics. The capability to exactly identify or authenticate an individual based on these characteristics has several advantages over customary means of authentication such as knowledge-based (e.g., password) or token-based (e.g., key) authentication. Due to its security-related applications and the current world political climate, biometrics has recently become the subject of intense research by both private and academic institutions. There are several human

characteristics that can be used as the basis for biometric systems. For example, a person’s face, retina, or voice can all be used to identify that individual with a high degree of accuracy. The use of fingerprints has some advantages above the other methods, and therefore is one of the most research and mature field of authentications.

Testing and Debugging for HRMS Kshitij Singh Raghav* Department of MCA, Guru Gobind Singh IP University, New Delhi, India

Abstract Software testing is a critical element of the ultimate review of specification design and coding. Testing of software leads to the uncovering of errors in the software functional and performance requirements are met. Testing also provides a good indication of software reliability and software quality as a whole. The result of different phases of testing are evaluated and then compared with the expected results. If the errors are uncovered they are debugged and corrected. A strategy approach to software testing has the generic characteristics: Testing begins at the module level and works “outwards” toward the integration of the entire computer-based system; different testing techniques are appropriate at different points of time; and testing and debugging are different activities, but debugging must be accommodated in the testing strategy. Keywords: debugging, module, software, testing

INTRODUCTION “Testing is a process of executing a program with the intent of finding an error.” A good test case is one that has a probability of finding an as yet undiscovered error. A successful test is one that uncovers an as yet undiscovered error. Our objective is to design test processes that systematically uncover different classes of errors and do so with minimum amount of time and effort.[1,2] Test Case Before the project is released, it has to pass through a test cases suit, so that the required functionality is met and previous functionality of the system is also not broken to do this, there is an existing test cases which checks for the previous functionality. New test cases are prepared and added to this existing test suit to check for the added functionality.[2]

expected output to know the outcome of the test case. If it is different, then, there is a failure and it must be identified. Unit Testing The module interface is tested to ensure that information properly flows into and out of the program unit under test. The unit testing is normally considered as an adjunct step to coding step. Because modules are not a standalone program, drivers and/or stubs software must be developed for each unit. A driver is nothing more than a “main program” that accepts test cases data and passes it to the module. A stub serves to replace the modules that are subordinate to the modules to be tested. A stub may do minimal data manipulation, prints verification of entry, and returns.[3]

Test case describes an input description and compares the observed output with

WINDOWS 10 Shruti Saxena, Upasna Setia* Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Ganga Institute of Technology and Management, Kablana, Jhajjar, Haryana, India

Abstract Windows 10 was a big change for Microsoft’s traditional operating system. Windows 10 introduces what Microsoft described as "universal" application architecture. Windows 10 is configured to send various information to Microsoft and other parties, including the collection of user contacts, calendar data, and "associated input data" to personalize "speech, typing, and inking input", typing and inking data to improve recognition, allowing apps to use a unique "advertising ID" for analytics and advertising personalization and allow apps to request the user's location data and send this data to Microsoft and "trusted partners" to improve location detection (Windows 8 had similar settings, except that location data collection did not include trusted partners).

INTRODUCTION Windows 10 is a personal computer operating system released by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. Windows 10 introduces what Microsoft described as a "universal" application architecture; expanding on Metro-style apps, these apps can be designed to run across multiple Microsoft product families with nearly identical code—including PCs,tablets, smartphones, embedded systems, Xbox One, Surface Hub and HoloLens. Windows 10 also introduces Task View, a virtual desktop system, the Microsoft Edge web browser and other new or updated applications, integrated support for fingerprint and face recognition login, new security features for enterprise environments, DirectX 12 and WDDM 2.0 to improve the operating system's graphics capabilities for games. Microsoft described Windows 10 as an 'operating system as a service' that would receive ongoing updates to its features and functionality, augmented with the ability for enterprise environments to receive non-critical updates at a slower pace, or

use long-term support milestones that will only receive critical updates, such as security patches, over their five-year lifespan of mainstream support. HISTORY Windows has been a mainstay in the computer market for so long that it's nearly impossible to imagine life without it. As the world's most popular operating system, it enjoys huge success, but that success wasn't easily attained. Bumps along the way are what helped Windows move from an obscure operating system to the dominating power in computers it is today. WINDOWS 1.0: The very first version of Windows, Windows 1.0, was a basic interface that used "gadgets," like the calendar and calculator, but it gained little popularity. Released in 1985, the system had basic functionality and introduced the first version of MS Paint and a primitive word processor.

Review Insight: Wireless Network Security Threats Avinash Chauhan* Department of Electrical and Electronics, Anand Engineering College, Agra, India

Abstract From recent years there is a huge development in wireless networking, all the generation peers relying on it. Although every one craving for its benefit not on other aspects (it’s not completely a boon for us bane as well). Hackers and intruders will create utilization of the loopholes of the wireless communication. In this paper we are going to chew over the various remote security dangers to wireless systems and conventions nowadays accessible like Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP), Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) and Wi-Fi Protected Access a pair of (WPA2).Wireless security danger can be on highlight during this paper. Keywords: remote security, wired equivalent privacy, Wi-Fi protected access.

INTRODUCTION Various nodes in surroundings in-order to that they are able to interchange info among them. A campus Wi-Fi network is that the most typical example of a wireless network. A network may be created for permanent use or could also be used for a few temporary amounts, in the former case each node is connected to others permanently and there's no disconnection from the network, however during a

temporary arrangement a network is used until a node must be connected during a network. Now-a-days various wireless communication technologies emerge new innovation. Wireless technologies take issue in native convenience, coverage vary and performance in some circumstances, users should be able to use multiple affiliation varieties in a one umbrella.
