Review Paper on EQ Radio for Emotion Recognition Manisha Agnihotri*

ABSTRACT The development in wireless technology is increasing rapidly. There are many advantages of using wireless technology. The EQ radio technology is very popular now days. In this technology, we can detect the feelings of the person using RF reflection. This EQ radio uses wireless signals to identify your emotions. The EQ radio uses vibration of heart rate, breathing rate and convert this signal and compared with pre-defined signal to known the results. It can measure four emotions like sad, anger, pleasure and happy on the basis of signal received. This review paper is all about the new EQ radio technology & their uses. INTRODUCTION Emotion recognition is an emerging field that has attracted much interest from both the industry and the research community.[1] The researchers get motivated by this technology. They develop such kind of device that responds on the mood of human being. This device is EQ Radio. The EQ stands for Equalizations, which means creating a balance between different types of frequencies. The EQ Radio set in the room and it can detect the feelings of the person by sending signals. To measure heartbeat, there is no need to connect EQ radio to ECG machine. The EQ radio measures the heart beat on the basis of RF signal reflected by the body. It then analyzes each heart rate and compares it to your previous measurements. Existing approaches for inferring a person’s emotions either rely on audiovisual cues, such as images and audio clips, or require the person to wear physiological sensors like an ECG monitor.[2] But these two

techniques have certain limitations. If person is not happy, but he is smiling, then the device result the happy emotion, but it is not true. To avoid this problem, EQ Radio technology comes in picture that can measure the person’s feelings on the basis of their heart rate, breathing rate, etc. EQ RADIO OVERVIEW EQ-Radio is an emotion recognition system that based purely on wireless signals.[3] It can transmit an RF signal and capturing its reflections from person’s body. It then analyzes these reflections to check person’s emotional state. It classifies the person’s emotional state according to the known arousal-valence model into one of four basic emotions[4,5]: anger, sadness, joy, and pleasure (i.e., contentment). EQ Radio system architecture consists of three components that operate in a pipelined manner. The Figure 1 shows the EQ radio system (Figure 2).

INTRODUCTION Mobile computing is an interaction between human and computer by which a computer is expected to be motivating during normal usage. Mobile computing comprises of software, hardware and mobile communication through various channels. Although, mobile software deals with the requirements of mobile applications and hardware includes the components and devices which are used for mobility and so on.[1] Various communication issues like ad-hoc and infrastructure networks, protocols, communication properties, data encryption and concrete technologies can be solved by mobile computing. Mobile computing refers to as being able to use a computing device while changing location of properties used by different users. Portable computers are one aspect of mobile computing. Also, it is referred as the ability to use computing capability without a pre-defined location and/or

connection to a network to for engaging data and information.[2] WHAT IS MOBILE COMPUTING? Mobile Computing Definition by Wikipedia It is a technology that allows transmission of data, voice and video via a computer or any other wireless enabled device without having to be connected to a fixed physical link. The main concept involves − Mobile communication. Mobile computing work by set up between client and employer so that company cab be set up anywhere but clients can exchange information through the channel that cab set up for mutual benefit.
