SISTER SOCO HERNANDEZ
My sister Soco is the oldest in our family. As the oldest sibling, she helped my mom take care of the rest of us and that included cooking. Soco attended a charter school in the closest, largest city of the area. While attending, she took cooking and baking courses. This is where her passion for baking began. It is safe to say that she is the pastry specialist in our family. During the holidays, she always bakes cookies and prepares her signature dish, tamales Canarios. Her tamales have even gained some local notoriety, as they are specially requested at annual functions where her daughter attends school.
