She arrived to college, as she walked to her classroom. Her co-worker said, ‘‘Hey, woman.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Hi, Alyssa. How was your night?’’ They walked to Crystal’s class. Alyssa responded, ‘‘It was alright.’’ She added, ‘‘So, your holding up pretty good. Y’know after ‘‘Mr. Good’’ left. Crystal said, ‘‘I don’t need a man to bring me happiness.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Trust me, I know.’’ Smiling afterwards. Crystal said,
‘‘Not like that.’’ Chuckling. She asked, ‘‘Are you ever going to grow up?’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Nah, don’t think so.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘You’re something Alyssa.’’ She whispered, ‘‘I know.’’ Crystal said, GOD has some…………..’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Oh HIM. Tell me, if HE exist, why couldn’t HE stop you know who from doing what he did.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I don’t know.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Well I do, HE doesn’t exist.’’ She added, ‘‘If HE existed, your cousin wouldn’t have died of a brain tumor.’’
Crystal said, ‘‘Well, you have a point.’’ Alyssa said ‘‘I know I do. I’m not only denying GOD completely, I just doubt that any type of god exists.’’ They got to Crystal’s class. Alyssa said, ‘‘Bye.’’ Crystal said bye back, she entered to her class, and waited for the time appointed to start class.
Brock enrolled in college once again. It was the first day of college. It was nine A.M. he decided to put a work-out before his class started.
As finished his work-out, his friend came up to him, and started to talk. They talked for a couple of minutes, then Brock said, ‘‘I don’t mean to cut you off, but, I, uh--- I got to go.’’ His friend said, ‘‘Ok, bye.’’ Brock got his luggage, and took a few steps. His friend said, ‘‘Sorry about what happen between you and Natalie.’’ Brock stopped, slightly turned his head, took a deep breath, and kept walking, pretending he didn’t hear him. His friend felt awkward, so he put on his ear phones on and began to lift weights. Brock finished taking a shower, got dress,
dropped his luggage in his car, and went to eat breakfast.
As he was eating breakfast, he saw a woman stared at him. She smiled and looked down everytime she would looked at him. Brock knew that she thought that he was good looking. He went up to her, and introduce himself. ‘‘Hi’’ He said. ‘‘My name is, Brock Jude Sanchez.’’ She said, ‘‘My name is Crystal Marie Davis.’’ She shook his hand,
‘‘Is any one sitting here?’’ He asked. She responded, ‘‘No. you can sit here.’’ He sat down, he asked, ‘‘How long have you been coming here?’’ She replied, ‘‘Four years’’ Brock asked, ‘‘Are you planning to becoming a teacher?’’ She replied, ‘‘Something like that.’’ He said, ‘‘I have bad experiences with teachers.’’ She asked, ‘‘Can I ask, why?’’ He replied, ‘‘Let’s just say, he took a piece of my heart.’’ Crystal replied, ‘‘Oh so….’’ Brock responded before she finished the question, saying,
‘‘No, I’m into women. I’m, not, gay.’’ Laughing about it. Crystal said, ‘‘I was going to ask, he stole your girlfriend. But ok.’’ Brock felt stupid. Brock said, ‘‘You’re attractive.’’ She said, ‘‘Thanks.’’ Brock realized it was time for his next class. Brock said, ‘‘Well, gotta get to class. Bye.’’ Crystal said bye back. Brock walked to his class. A guy came to Crystal and ask, ‘‘Professor Davis, I ‘m might dropping your class. She asked, ‘‘Why?’’ He said, ‘‘I’m going to choose another
career. That career doesn’t require me to take chemistry.’’ She replied, ‘‘Okay, hope it goes well on your future endeavors.’’ She got up and went to her class. As she walked to her class. Alyssa came and said, ‘‘I saw the man you were talking to. What handsome man, if he’s single. You should try go out for a bite with him or something.’’ Crystal replied, ‘‘I told you, Alyssa. I don’t need a man to make me happy, or support me. I could handle life myself.’’ Crystal walked into her class, while Alyssa stood in the entrance of the door.
She said, ‘‘Listen, I understand you’re a headstrong, determined woman. But just because you admit that you need help and vulnerable sometimes, doesn’t mean you’re a weak woman. It only means you’re a human being, and you have feelings, just like all of us.’’ Alyssa went to teach in her class. Brock was walking to his next class, he heard a voice saying, ‘‘Brock! Brock!’’ He turn and saw his friend power walking towards him. He said, ‘‘Hi, Carol.’’ Carol caught up to him, and said, ‘‘Hey, I have birthday party, I’d like you to come.’’
Brock said, ‘‘Okay, I’ll see if I can go. Where is it going to be?’’ Carol said, ‘‘At my place.’’ Brock said, ‘‘I’ll check my schedule.’’ She asked, ‘‘May I give you a hug?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Only if it’s a side hug.’’ Carol said, ‘‘I’ll take it.’’ He gave her a side hug. He let go, and he notice that Carol hold on for few seconds longer. Carol realized he let go, she let go and said, ‘‘Sorry.’’ He said, ‘‘Laters, Carol.’’ He walked to his class, Carol said in loud voice, ‘‘HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE.’’ Brock just looked back and gave a thumbs up.
Carol whispered under her breath, ‘‘Natalie, you’re a one dumb….’’ Then her friend came to while she was saying that, asking, ‘‘Was that Brock Sanchez?’’ Carol replied, ‘‘Yup.’’ She asked ‘‘Thee Brock Jude Sanchez?’’ Carol smirked and turned, ‘‘Yup.’’ She added, ‘‘He’s single now.’’ Her friend said, ‘‘He hasn’t been single since, like forever.’’ She asked, ‘‘What happened?’’ Carol said, ‘‘Well, rumor has it, he caught Natalie was about to have ‘‘fun’’ with another guy.’’ She asked, ‘‘What? With who?’’
Carol said, ‘‘Rumor has it, one of those people that makes us learn.’’ She asked, ‘‘Which one?’’ Carol said, ‘‘Mr. Evans.’’ She said, ‘‘He was handsome.’’ Carol said, ‘‘I know, but not as handsome as Brock. I wouldn’t lose Brock, for him, or for anyone else, for that matter.’’ They went home, because they didn’t have any classes after that.
The day went on, Brock went to his last class. He entered the class, he sat in a desk, and the teacher entered the room. She said, ‘‘Ok class, I’m Professor
Crystal Davis. This is Chemistry 1 o 1.’’ She saw Brock, he smiled. She began to teach, then she passed out the assignment. Brock started to do the assignment. One hour ½ later, the class finished. Brock turned in the work last, he asked, ‘‘Why didn’t you tell me you were a professor?’’ She smiled and said, ‘‘You didn’t ask.’’ He said, ‘‘You got me there.’’ She said, ‘‘I don’t know why your girlfriend left you. You’re very handsome.’’ He said, ‘‘Thanks.’’ She said, ‘‘Your girlfriend was stupid for leaving you. I never
would’ve left you if you were my man.’’ He smiled, she asked, ‘‘Are you seeing someone right now?’’ He thought she was asking because she was hitting on him. He said, ‘‘No.’’ She asked, ‘‘Want to get something to eat?’’ He said, ‘‘Sure.’’ They walked outside, as they were walking to their vehicles, she said, ‘‘I’d like you to meet someone, I think you’d be perfect for her.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Oh, ok.’’ Stammering. She said, ‘‘You seemed confused.’’
She added, ‘‘What, you thought I was hitting on you?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Well, you kinda gave me that impression.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘You’re a very handsome young man, but I just got out of a relationship. I don’t think I want or, much less need a new one right now.’’ He replied, ‘‘Ok. Well, where do you want to go eat?’’ She said, ‘‘Well, I’ll like to go to Subway, but where do you want to go?’’ He said, ‘‘Subway is fine.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Ok, I’ll meet you there.’’
Brock went to his car and drove to Subway. She got her car and got a text, saying, ‘‘Saw you with that man again.’’ She got another text saying, ‘‘Are you sure you’re not falling for that dainty man?’’ Crystal said to herself, ‘‘Get a life, Alyssa.’’ She texted back saying, ‘‘Woman, you’re something else you know that. lol’’ She drove to subway. Once there, she got off and walked to Subway. She saw Brock sitting there, waiting. She couldn’t contain herself, she took a deep breathe, and said to herself ‘‘Okay, play it cool Crystal. Be a professional. This is not a date,
it’s just two people having a bite to eat, that’s it.’’
Chapter 2 She entered the restaurant, she was walking towards him, she thought. ‘‘Oh, he’s so damn handsome. Girls must me be after him, left and right.’’ She finally got to the booth where Brock was sitting in. ‘‘Hi, did you already ordered your food?’’ Crystal asked. Brock said, ‘‘No, I haven’t. I was waiting for you.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Well come on, lets order.’’ They went to order, they went to sit down after that.’’
Crystal ask, ‘‘Well what are you studying for?’’ Brock said, ‘‘It’s between, a bladesmith or an artist. I can’t decide yet.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Well you better decide soon.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘Why make you say that?’’ Crystal replied, ‘‘I have seen students spend extra for their education, because they couldn’t decide what they want to study for.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Nah, I’m the type of person who could decide real quickly.’’ Crystal was trying her best not to seem attracted to him.
Brock ask, ‘‘So, what’s your deal?’’ She replied, ‘‘Excuse me.’’ with a strong tone of voice. Brock said, ‘‘I mean, tell me about yourself.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Oh, ok.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘What did you think I meant?’’ ‘ ‘No, it’s just I take things wrong sometimes. Forget it.’’ Swinging her head to a side to remove her hair from her face. She asked, ‘‘Out of curiosity, why didn’t report the teacher that was hitting on your girl?’’ He said, ‘‘I don’t know.’’ She said, ‘‘Maybe it was for the best, you wouldn’t have met my
friend if you’d stayed with your girlfriend.’’ He asked, ‘‘Where is she?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I don’t know, let me text her.’’ Then Crystal got a text saying, ‘‘I see you eating with that handsome man again.’’ Then Crystal looked outside, Brock asked, ‘‘What’s wrong?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Oh, my co-worker text me, saying she’s here. I don’t see her.’’ Brock and Crystal looked around inside and outside. Then Crystal felt someone poked her, she jumped, saying a cuss word. Brock got bothered by the word. He just lifted his
eyebrows. Alyssa said, ‘‘How are you doing girl?’’ Sitting next to Crystal. Crystal said, ‘‘I’m in importing meeting.’’ tighten her teeth. Alyssa said, ‘‘Hi, I’m Alyssa Bennet.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Brock Jude Sanchez.’’ They shook hands. Brock said, ‘‘Call your friend, to see if she is going to come.’’ Alyssa asked Crystal, ‘‘Which friend? What is he talking about?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Oh, nothing. Apartment stuff.’’ Brock had an idea that Crystal was lying, and she was interested in him.
Crystal said, ‘‘I’ll just tell her we’ll talk later.’’ Brock took a drink of beverage thinking, ‘‘Huuh sure, pretend you don’t like me.’’ Alyssa asked Brock, ‘‘I have a party next weekend, want to come?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Sure, what time?’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Sunday at….’’ Brock said, ‘‘Ooooh, can’t. I go to church.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Oh, you’re one of those who believes in a Higher Power?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Yes, is there something wrong?’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘No. but I think that sometimes you guys are
being……………. Delusional. I think that’s word I’m looking for.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Alyssa’’ through her teeth. Brock said, ‘‘No, no. it’s ok, huh Crystal. I’d like for her to challenge me, and my Faith. I could proof GOD’s existence. Ask me any question, so I could proof there’s a GOD.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘When I was a little girl, my parents would leave me…. with my aunt and uncle.’’ By this time, tears began to flood and overflow her eyes. ‘‘My aunt would leave to work. My uncle would invite me to his bedroom. One day, he got me, threw me on his bed……….. and force himself
on me. I was kicking and crying. He said, ‘‘Stop moving you little’’ Then she use a proper word for a girl dog. ‘‘The less you move, the painful it is.’’ Forcibly, had his way with me. If ‘‘GOD’s so powerful’’ why didn’t HE stop my uncle?’’ There were silence between them three for a couple minutes. Brock was fuming when he heard that. He wanted to flip the table over and go on a rampage. Brock said, ‘‘Well, since GOD knows the future. HE allows bad things to happen because HE will bring a good thing out bad stuff.’’ She asked, ‘‘Why did GOD allowed it to happen to me?’’
He said, ‘‘Well, none of us don’t know why. Why did GOD allow my first love to cheat on me with our teacher? I don’t know. Why did GOD allow there to be accidents? I don’t know. There’s something we can’t explain.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘I’m still not convince there’s a GOD..’’ She got up and said, ‘‘I got to go.’’ She lean over Crystal, and said, ‘‘Bye woman.’’ she said bye to Brock. He said, by back. Brock and Crystal finished their food, threw their away, and walked outside. Brock walked Crystal to her car. On the way to her car, she asked, ‘‘So you’re a Christian?’’
He said, ‘‘Yes, from my youth.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I do believe there’s a GOD, but I’m not in a denomination.’’ They got to Crystal’s car, she open the door. They starred at each, they knew that they liked each other. He extended his to give her a hand shake. Then he walked to his car, and she got into her car. She said, ‘‘I still need no man.’’ And drove off. Brock went to his home, walked in, and went to his room. He got a box that was under his bed, and started look at the pictures. As he went through the pictures, a voice started playing
inside his head, saying, ‘‘Together forever.’’ Then he put them back, and fell asleep.
Crystal arrived to her apartment, she walked inside of her apartment. She was alone in her apartment, she thought of what she could do in her downtime. So she logged on to her Facebook profile. She couldn’t help it but search up, Brock Sanchez. About twenty profiles came up with that name. She scrolled until she found him. She clicked on his profile, she saw his pictures.
She thought, ‘‘He’s so handsome.’’ She was going to click ‘‘Add friend.’’ She changed her mind and she was going to message him. Hesitating, she just logged off and watched a movie.
Brock woke up to sound of someone knocking at the door. He got up, walked to his door, and opened it. It was Natalie, ‘‘Natalie?’’ Brock asked. He continued asking, ‘‘What are you doing here?’’ Natalie said, ‘‘I made a mistake, Brock. Take me back.’’ She jumped, wrapped her arms
around his neck, and kissed him. As they were kissing, a voice said, ‘‘Natalie.’’ Brad came into the apartment. They stopped and she went to hug Brad. Natalie turn to Brock, did an obscene gesture, and started to kiss Brad. In a fit of berserker rage, Brock was finally going to punch Brad. Brock woke up just before he landed the punch. He sat up, looked around the room, and said, ‘‘I guess I’ll never truly get over it.’’ Brock went to go to get something to drink, and went back to sleep.
Chapter 3 The week went on, it was Friday, and it was the day of Carol’s party. Carol looked for Brock all day, she finally found Brock. She said, ‘‘Hey, Brock.’’ He said, ‘‘Oh, hey Carol. How are you?’’ She said, ‘‘I’m good. I’ve been looking for you all day.’’ Brock remembered that today is her party. He said, ‘‘I didn’t forget your party Carol.’’ Smiling afterwards.
Carol said, ‘‘I can’t wait to see you there.’’ Brock knew she had a crush on him. She asked, ‘‘May I give you a hug?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Only a side hug.’’ Carol said, ‘‘I’ll take it.’’ She gave him a side hug, she tried not to hold on for a long awhile this time. They let go at the same time. Brock said, ‘‘See you tonight, Carol. Happy birthday.’’ She said ‘‘Thanks.’’ He walked to his first class. Meanwhile, Crystal was preparing for her ten A.M. class. She heard a knock. She turned and said, ‘‘Hey, woman.’’
Alyssa asked, ‘‘So, what happened?’’ Crystal ask, ‘‘What happened with what?’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Y’know, with Mr. Handsome.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘Do you have nicknames for every man?’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Pretty much, yes.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘How are you still single?’’ Smiling about it. Alyssa said, ‘‘Maybe, I’m too much for men.’’ She added, ‘‘The only bad thing is, he’s a religious church boy. As you know, I’m agnostic. I doubt of a Higher Power exists.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Well, I gotta prepare for the first class.’’ Alyssa
walked to class and Crystal kept preparing for class.
As the last school day of the week drew to a close, Brock entered to Crystal’s class. Crystal saw Brock entered into her class. Crystal tried her best not to seem attracted to him. She pretended to be reading something, but her green eyes were fixated on Brock. The class finally got full, Crystal got up and close the door. She began to teach for one hour ½, then she began to pass out the assignment. When she gave the assignment to Brock. She didn’t even bother
to look at him. They began to do the assignment. Brock finished first, then he got up and went to turn in the assignment. He said, ‘‘Gotta go. Professor Davis. Have to do something.’’ As he turn to leave the class, Crystal said, ‘‘Oh, Brock. Do you have an email? You could email me, for work related purposes. Of course.’’ He said, ‘‘Yes, I also have a facebook. You could message me there too.’’ As much as Crystal wanted to say, ‘‘Yeah, I was looking at your pictures the other day.’’ She said, ‘‘Ok, I’d rather stick to emails.’’
He said, ‘‘Ok, bye Professor Davis.’’ He headed out of the class. Crystal said to herself, ‘‘Don’t let his good looks get you Crystal, don’t let them get to you.’’
Later that night, Brock got ready for Carol’s party. As he got ready, Brock got a call, he answered the call, ‘‘Hi mom. How are you?’’ She said, ‘‘I’m fine, I’m calling you to ask you, would you to come to eat with us?’’ Brock said, ‘‘I’m going to birthday party.’’
His mom said, ‘‘Be careful, don’t fall for a random girl. Remember what happen with that……….’’ Brock said, ‘‘Ok, mom. I get it.’’ His mom said, ‘‘Be safe, Brock.’’ He said, ‘‘Ok, love. Bye.’’ He got dress, went to buy Carol a gift, and went to her place. Carol’s friend came tap her on her shoulder. Carol turned her head toward her friend. Her friend said, ‘‘Look who just walked through the door.’’ She pointed at the door with her eyes. Carol turned her head towards the door. She saw Brock at the door.
She rushed towards Brock, she said, ‘‘Hi Brock. Thanks for coming.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Hi Carol. You’re welcome. Here, I bought you a present. And yes, you could give a side hug.’’ Smiling with her. She said, ‘‘The side hug is the best present. You didn’t have to buy me anything. Thanks anyway.’’ Meanwhile at Crystal’s house, Crystal was hearing music while on facebook. Once again, she went to Brock’s profile. Just as soon as she went to his profile. The song ‘‘Why can’t I’’ by Liz Phair came out.
She said, ‘‘I do like Brock as a man. Question is, does he like me the same way? I don’t want to tell him because I don’t want to seem desperate, or that I need a man. I’d like to be with him. I’ll just let nature its job. If he falls for me? He falls for me. If he doesn’t? Then he doesn’t. I’m not going to force it to happen.’’ Then she ordered pizza and watch episodes of ‘‘The Big Bang Theory’’
At Carol’s house, Carol couldn’t stop talking about how handsome Brock is.
One of her friend told her, ‘‘You do know he’s a church boy, right?’’ Carol said, ‘‘Yeah, I know. Is that a problem?’’ Her friend said, ‘‘Well, nobody has proven GOD’s existence. I don’t think we should give people false hope.’’ Carol said, ‘‘He says he could always proof GOD’s existence.’’ Her friend said, ‘‘Let’s put that to the test.’’ They went to go to ask Brock. She asked, ‘‘Since we can’t see GOD, how do we know HE is real?’’ Brock replied, ‘‘First off, if GOD wouldn’t exist, then how did the universe came to be? The fact
there’s a creation, there must be a Creator.’’ He asked, ‘‘You see that chair?’’ He asked, ‘‘Did someone create it?’’ They said, ‘‘Of course.’’ He asked, ‘‘How do you know, if you didn’t see the creator?’’ He said, ‘‘You know that someone created it because nothing comes out of thin air. The samething with us.’’ He said, ‘‘It’s not right to do bad things right.’’ They said, ‘‘Yeah. But some humans altruistic and moral.’’ He replied, ‘‘Okay, what do you mean by that?’’
She said, ‘‘We care about each other.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘Why is that good?’’ She said, ‘‘So we wouldn’t be extinct.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘Why is that a good thing?’’ She said, ‘‘Because that’s how it is.’’ Brock replied, ‘‘Fine, if someone says, I’m going to take your stuff to survive, is that bad?’’ She said, ‘‘Uh, yes.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘Says who?’’ She couldn’t respond to his question. Brock asked, ‘‘Do you know what I just did, right?’’ She
realize that if GOD didn’t exist, then nothing is wrong. She said, ‘‘You proved GOD existence.’’
Later, Carol told Brock, ‘‘I want to tell you something, come outside with me.’’ They went outside, they sat down on the trellis. Carol said, ‘‘Listen, since we were in high school. I had a big crush on you. You were with……… Natal… Brock said, ‘‘Ok, her.’’ Carol asked, ‘‘Now, since you’re not with her, are you willing to date again?’’
Brock said, ‘‘You are a pretty woman. But my heart hasn’t completely moved on my first love. I’m still hurt of what she did.’’ She said, ‘‘Okay, I understand. Hope you pick me when you’re ready.’’ Time went on, Brock was leaving Carol’s home, and went to his apartment.
Chapter 4 T
he next day, Crystal went to
Wal-Mart. As she was shopping, she ran into Brock. She couldn’t help it, she said, ‘‘Hi.’’ He said hi back. She asked, ‘‘What are here for?’’ He answered, ‘‘Huh, I’m shopping.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Duh, Crystal.’’ They both began to laugh.
He asked, ‘‘Are you alone, tonight?’’ She wanted to pretend not to be charmed by his good looks. she would crack a smile once in a while. She said, ‘‘Yeah, I’m alone. Why do you ask?’’ Brock said, ‘‘I’m just wondering if you’d like to watch a movie or go to eat?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Yeah, that sounds good.’’ She asked, ‘‘What movie would like to see?’’ He said, ‘‘Transformers. How about you?’’ She said, ‘‘How about, Love Actually?’’
Brock didn’t want to watch that one. Since he didn’t want to seem like a selfish jerk. He said, ‘‘Okay, we can see that one.’’ They continued shopping, after ten minutes, they left Walmart, and walked their own vehicle. Brock asked, ‘‘Where do you live? You haven’t told me where you live.’’ Crystal gave her address to him. He said, ‘‘Well, I’m dropped this off at my parents’ house. Then I’m going to drop this movie at my brother’s house, and then I’ll go to your place.’’
Crystal said, ‘‘Ok, see you there.’’ He said, ‘‘See you in a bit Professor Davis.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Call me Crystal.’’ And she gave him a flirtatious smile. They got in their own vehicle, as soon as she got in her vehicle and turn it on. ‘‘Why can’t I’’ by Liz Phair came out. She smiled when she heard it, she turn it up, and she sang it with passion. After ten minutes, she got food ready. While Brock dropped off the stuff at his mom’s, then his brother’s house.
Brock finally went Crystal’s house. He knocked at the door, Crystal opened the door, and Brock looked at her green eyes and smiled. She smiled said, ‘‘Come on in, Brock.’’ Brock went inside of house. Crystal said, ‘‘Make yourself at home. The living room is on your left.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Nice house.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Thanks.’’ Brock went and sat down the couch, while Crystal got the popcorn. Crystal asked, ‘‘What do you want to drink?’’ in a loud voice.
Brock said, ‘‘Coke. If you have some. If not, tea.’’ She grabbed a coke for him and water for her. All the while, she was saying, ‘‘Act tough. Don’t seem desperate.’’ She finally came with the popcorn and the drinks. She subconsciously sat down right next to him and put the movie. Brock said, ‘‘Hey, I never found out your age.’’ She said, ‘‘I’m thirty.’’ Brock said, ‘‘I’m twenty one.’’ The movie finished, Brock asked, ‘‘How would you feel if your exboyfriend came and knock at the door, right now?’’
Crystal said, ‘‘I’d throw you at him. I moved on with my life.’’ She couldn’t stop staring at his eyes. He got a look that’s so powerful, so masculine. Brock asked, ‘‘So, you wouldn’t think it would be romantic?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘No.’’ using a cuss word before ‘‘no’’ She immediately felt awkward when she said that cuss word. Brock said, ‘‘Please don’t use that language around me.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Sorry.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘Why was it romantic when, Kiera Knightley’s character opens the door to her ex-boyfriend? What if it was her fiancé who opened the door? What
would’ve happened?’’ Crystal couldn’t answer the question. Until she finally said, ‘‘You’re right, Brock. I’ve never thought of that.’’ Just to see what would Crystal says, he asked, ‘‘Whatever happened to the woman that you were going to set me up with?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Well, she… had.. to, to move to a different….. um, state, for, uh, work. And she……….. uhh, couldn’t make it. But there’s another woman that I know.’’ Brock knew she was making things up. He asked, ‘‘Is there any chance the first woman has green eyes?’’
Crystal said, ‘‘Maybe.’’ He asked, ‘‘Is she blonde?’’ Crystal’s heart was beating in an above average rate. She knew that he was talking about her. Brock said, ‘‘I understand when women tries to be strong and independent. But, there’s a difference between of being weak and admitting she’s attracting to a guy.’’ Crystal smiled and looked away. She asked, ‘‘How did you find that your, girl.’’ She cleared throat. ‘‘Was to ‘‘friendly’’ with your… or a teacher?’’ He said, ‘‘I notice that they would spend a lot of time him. She would flirt with him, all of that. I
caught him about to have his way with her.’’ Then he said, ‘‘Holy crap, I’m a prophet.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Can you explain how you’re a ‘‘prophet.’’ He said, ‘‘Earlier in the year, I said, ‘‘You know what’s stupid about movies. In the movie, Along Came Polly, when Ben Stiller’s character finds Claude having his way with Ben’s wife. Claude says, ‘‘It’s not what it looks like.’’ That’s the samething what to me.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘So, they actually did it?’’ Brock said, ‘‘No, they were about to do it..’’
Crystal said, ‘‘I have a question for you.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Ask.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘Are you a virgin?’’ He said, ‘‘No, I’m not.’’ She said, ‘‘So, you gave her your virginity, huh?’’ He said, ‘‘Yup.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘So you loved her that much.’’ He said, ‘‘Yup.’’ She said, ‘‘I should’ve been there to make jealous. Just kidding’’ smiling afterwards. Time went by, it was time for Brock to go. Crystal walked Brock to the door.
He opened the door, he stood at the entrance of the door, turned to stare at her. They couldn’t stop staring and smiling at each other for a few minutes. He said, ‘‘See you Monday.’’ He started to walk away, then he asked, ‘‘Hey, do you want to go to church tomorrow?’’ She said, ‘‘Okay.’’ He gave her the address. Then he left. She closed the door. She rested her back on the door. She looked towards the ceiling, a smile slowly formed on her mouth. Then she put the song, ‘‘Why Can’t I’’ and she started dancing. She danced horribly, but she danced her heart out.
Chapter 5 T

Brock asked, ‘‘What woman?’’ His mom smiled and said, ‘‘You know who I’m talking about.’’ Brock turned to see Crystal then turned to his mom. He said, ‘‘Oh, her? She’s a friend in from college.’’ She said, ‘‘She doesn’t look like she’s in her twenties. She looks like she’s in in her thirties.’’ Since Brock was very sarcastic. He replied, ‘‘Who said a thirty year old can’t be in college?’’ Crystal came and introduced herself, and said, ‘‘Hi. I’m….’’ She looked at him for a couple of seconds. She said, ‘‘Brock’s tutor.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Yeah she tutors the class at
the sametime, while stand in front of a chalkboard.’’ His mom got the hint, while Crystal looked at him with wide eyes. His mom asked, ‘‘Are you going to eat with us?’’ He said, ‘‘Yeah.’’ He invited Crystal, She said, ‘‘Ok, where are you going?’ They told her where, She said, ‘‘Okay, I’ll meet you there.’’ She walked to her car, while Brock walked to his car. His mom followed him, She asked, ‘‘Are you serious, Brock?’’
He asked, ‘‘What?’’ His mom said, ‘‘Y’know what, she’s your teacher.’’ He said, ‘‘Professor.’’ In a playful manner. She said, ‘‘Same difference. Point is… you’re practically dating your boss.’’ He said, ‘‘We haven’t made it official. She pretends that she doesn’t like me as a man, but I could tell it in her eyes.’’ He opened his car door. His mom said, ‘‘Just be careful with this one. Okay?’’ Brock got into his car. He said, ‘‘I understand if it was five years ago. But I’m twenty one, I’m an adult. Who said it was
wrong for me to date a thirty year old?’’ His mom said, ‘‘true.’’ He close the door and drove off. His mom walked to her car. The dad was furious because she kept him waiting.
They got to the restaurant, as they were waiting to be seated. His mom asked, ‘‘How did you two guys meet?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Well…’’ She subconsciously grab his arm, ‘‘We met at the cafeteria.’’ His mom said, ‘‘Gee, let me guess he came up to you and talk to you?’’
Crystal said, ‘‘Yes, he did.’’ Then she realized that her arm was around Brock’s arm, she slowly moved it away, hoping Brock wouldn’t noticed. Brock noticed but he ignored it, he said, ‘‘Man, mom. You make it sound like if I’m after every girl.’’ Chuckling afterwards. His mom said, ‘‘No, I didn’t want it sound like that. By the way, hhhhuuuuu…’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Crystal’’ His mom said, ‘‘You have the most beautiful eyes. Brock’s favorite eye color for women.’’ Brock said, ‘‘MOM.’’ She said, ‘‘Okay, I’ll stop.’’
Crystal subconsciously laid her head on Brock’s shoulder and closed her eyes. Brock turned and looked at her, she realized it, she opened her eyes and said, ‘‘Man, I’m so sleepy.’’ Pretend to yawn. She said, ‘‘I’ll be right back. I need to go the restroom.’’ She went to the restroom. His mom said, ‘‘She is into you.’’ Crystal collected herself and said, ‘‘Don’t make it so noticeable, Crystal. Get a hold of yourself.’’ She came back from the restroom. While she walked back, she saw the usher seating Brock’s family. She followed them, again she subconsciously sat close to Brock.
As they decided what to get to drink, Crystal asked, ‘‘What are you going to get brabe, I mean Brock?’’ Brock’s family just looked at Crystal. Brock pretended that he didn’t hear her almost saying, ‘‘babe’’ He said, ‘‘I’ll have a coke.’’ She said, ‘‘Oh, I think I’ll have one too.’’ Her moved eyes towards Brock, Brock looked at his mom. His mom smiled at Brock, Brock gave her a look that said, ‘‘Told you so’’ His dad said, ‘‘So, Crystal. I heard that you tutor Brock.’’
She said, ‘‘Sometimes, yes.’’ He said, ‘‘I’m surprise, Brock has a high level intellect.’’ She said, ‘‘Well, I more like overview his work.’’ His dad said, ‘‘Oh, okay.’’ The waiter came to check what they want to drink. Then Brock said, ‘‘We’re ready to order, sir.’’ Then they ordered, after fifteen minutes, the food came, they hold hands and started praying. As they were praying, Crystal just had her head down because she didn’t know what to say. His mom asked, ‘‘So Crystal, what do you teach?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Oh, chemistry.’’
His brother said, ‘‘Brock, you’re pretty good at science. Are you sure she’s only your ‘‘tutor?’’ Brock leaned over and said, ‘‘You’re crusin’ for a brusin’.’’ His brother said, ‘‘Girls were falling for him left and right in high school.’’ Crystal just smiled. After one hour at the restaurant, they finished, they payed and left the restaurant. They all said bye to one another. Crystal said bye to his family, she turned to Brock, and said, ‘‘Bye, Bbbbrock.’’ Trying to be careful not to say babe. ‘‘See you tomorrow.’’ They all went to their residence.

he next day at college,
Alyssa saw Crystal and walked up to her and asked, ‘‘Hey, where have you been all weekend?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Busy.’’ Alyssa asked, ‘‘Doing what?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Just busy.’’ They began walking towards Alyssa’s class. Alyssa said, ‘‘Haven’t seen the professor.’’ Crystal ask, ‘‘What professor?’’
Alyssa said, ‘‘Y’know, the handsome one. The one who you were talking to the other day, at the cafeteria and ’’ Crystal, ‘‘Oh, him.’’ Then Crystal asked, ‘‘Who said he was a professor?’’ she added, ‘‘Maybe he’s a student.’’ Alyssa asked, ‘‘You’re tutoring him then?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘He’s super intelligent.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Wait, didn’t you say he was speaking to you about apartment stuff?’’ Crystal began to stutter as they entered into Alyssa’s class. Alyssa opened her mouth, opened her eyes wide, and gasped.
Alyssa said, ‘‘You’re lying, you’re falling for him.’’ Crystal scoffs and said, ‘‘Maybe you’re into him that way, I’m not.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Okay, maybe I’ll invited into the ‘‘Alyssa train.’’ Crystal said, in a strong voice. ‘‘You better not touch my boy….’’ Then she realized she was going to say, ‘‘boyfriend’’ she cussed. Alyssa said, ‘‘See, you are falling for him.’’ Then she said, ‘‘Crystal and Brock sitting in a tree.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Oh grow up.’’ In a playful voice. Crystal’s first class was going to start.
Brock went to college just to work-out. Brock finished his two hour work-out, took a shower, and went to eat breakfast. He finished eating, he threw his trash away, and walked to his car. He came across Crystal, she saw him and asked, ‘‘Hey Brock, what are you doing?’’ Trying hard that the word ‘‘babe’’ wouldn’t come out. He said, ‘‘Just here working out. Heading back to my place.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Oh, ok.’’ He asked, ‘‘Are you coming to church again this Sunday?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Yeah, I really liked it.’’
Brock said, ‘‘Now if only I could convince your friend. Huh.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I think you convince her already. She just doesn’t want for it be true.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Well, I’m going to keep trying to tell her and keep on praying to GOD to touch her heart.’’ She said, ‘‘Hopefully HE does.’’ She added, ‘‘Hey, I don’t have a class for another hour or so. Want to go for an ice cream or something?’’ He said, ‘‘Okay, I’ll meet you there.’’ She asked, ‘‘Well can I go with you in your car?’’
He replied, ‘‘Sure, why not.’’ They got into his car and drove to sonic.
While they were driving, Brock asked, ‘‘Can I ask something?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘You already did.’’ Then she chuckled and said, ‘‘I’m just playing, Brock.’’ She tapped his shoulder. He asked, ‘‘How old are you?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Thirty years old.’’ Then she asked, ‘‘And you, how old are you?’’ Brock said, ‘‘I’m twenty one.’’ She said, ‘‘You’re into dating women older than you.’’
He said, ‘‘Only if I like her as a woman.’’ Both of them didn’t want to seem desperate and admit it first. After ten minutes of driving they got to Sonic, they got off and they ordered. They sat in a bench, they sat across each other. She asked, ‘‘Am I not going to heaven if I use toe nail polish?’’ Brock replied, ‘‘Well, I don’t know. I’m not GOD to say, who’s going to heaven or hell.’’ She asked, ‘‘Are you sure you’re not saying that just because you like how my feet look?’’ Brock said, ‘‘No, no, no.’’
Crystal said, ‘‘Come on, Brock. Just admit it.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Okay, let’s say you become a CHRISTian and you serve GOD with all your heart. You stay away all that is evil and dark. Yet, GOD condemns you just because you paint your toes. Then I’m going to hell, as well as my family, and all the people that serve GOD and tries to stay away from evil. Because everyone does things they’re not supposed to do.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I’m only asking because, I felt awkward on Sunday.’’ Brock said, ‘‘You were just a visitor. They understand, now, if
you feel convicted? Then stop wearing nail polish.’’ A few seconds later, he said, ‘‘Yes, I do like how your feet look.’’ They finally got their ice cream, Brock was going to pay, then Crystal said, ‘‘No, I’ll pay.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘Are you sure?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Yeah. I’m sure.’’ She paid, and got her ice cream, she gave Brock his ice cream. Brock asked, ‘‘You don’t like depending on a man, huh?’’ She said, ‘‘Nope.’’ Taking a spoon full of her ice cream. He asked, ‘‘Are you feminist? She said, ‘‘Alyssa says I am.’’ He thought, ‘‘That’s why she won’t
admit that she’s into me. She waiting for me to make a move.’’ He asked, ‘‘How tall are you?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Five nine.’’ She asked, ‘‘And you? How tall are you?’’ He said, ‘‘Six three.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘By the way, how much can you bench?’’ He said, ‘‘Alot.’’ She said, ‘‘Okay. Don’t tell me then. I’ll figure it out myself.’’ In a playful manner. Crystal asked, ‘‘Were in sports in high school?’’ He said, ‘‘Wrestling, but Olympic wrestling, not WWE fake type.’’
Crystal said, ‘‘Yeah, I know Brock.’’ In a sarcastic voice. They finished their ice cream. They went to the park, talked for hours and hours, and Crystal would tease Brock. Until finally they realize it was getting late, they drove back to get his car. As he was getting off of the vehicle, Crystal said, ‘‘Bye’’ He said bye back. He closed the door, and walked to his car. They both drove to their own places. While Crystal was driving, the song, ‘‘Why Can’t I’’ played. Then the song, ‘‘Pieces Of Me’’ by Ashlee Simpson. As she drove home, she couldn’t stop smiling.

Tony Stark talks to Ross about Avengers.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘Is the first hulk movie connected to the Avengers?’’ Brock said, ‘‘I think it is. This movie picked up where the first one left off. So I consider it to be connected. But, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘Are you a comic book nerd?’’
Crystal said, ‘‘Kinda.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘What’s your favorite movie?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘It’s between, Spider-man 2 and X-men 2.’’
She asked, ‘‘Do you like any DC movies?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Well, since only Batman movies are the ones being made, I’ll say yes.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Superman has movies.’’ He said, ‘‘Oh, yeah. Well I like only Batman movies. Crystal asked, ‘‘Have you seen The Dark Knight?’’
He said, ‘‘Yup, it’s a good movie.’’ Brock chuckled and said, ‘‘When I was in high school, they would say my peers would say, my relationship with my ex was Batman and Catwoman.’’ Crystal made face of disgust and jealousy. Brock changed the subject and asked, ‘‘What about Spider-man 3? Do you like Spider-man 3?’’ Crystal made a face like she was mad, but in a playful manner. She said, ‘‘I should slap you for asking that.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Okay, slap me.’’ Crystal slightly slapped him. Brock replied, ‘‘Come on, that’s all you have?’’ Crystal was going
to slap him with slightly more force. Brock grabbed her wrist, then they began to play with each other. Brock stared at her green eyes. Alyssa said, ‘‘Because isn’t right for man leave a pregnant woman.’’ Brock replied, ‘‘Do you think it’s okay if someone kills a child?’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘No.’’ using a cuss word. Brock pointed his finger to Alyssa and said, ‘‘First off, don’t cuss when you’re around me. Second, what’s the difference between the unborn and a child that’s walking upon the earth?’’ Alyssa realized that he was right. Then Alyssa said, ‘‘Brock, I’m still not convince that there’s a GOD.’’ Brock asked Alyssa, ‘‘What Hitler did, was it wrong?’’ She
looked at him like if he was stupid, she said, ‘‘Uh, of course he was wrong.’’ Brock replied, ‘‘Really, says who?’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘He killed thousands of people, especially the Jewish people.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Ok, but there’s no GOD. Why was it wrong if there’s no moral standard? Who’s not to say, that he was right and the people were wrong.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘We to need help humanity survive.’’ Brock said, ‘‘He was doing that, by only the strongest to survive.’’
Crystal asked, ‘‘Didn’t he only wanted, blonde, white people with colored eyes only to exist?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Yes. So only good looking people could exist. No one would be ugly.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘That’s the most insensitive thing I’ve heard.’’ Brock said, ‘‘You could discuss the non-existence of GOD all you want. At the end of the day, I’ll always proof GOD’s existence.’’
Alyssa asked, ‘‘Are you a conservative?’’ He said, ‘‘Yes, I am’’ She asked, ‘‘So you’re voting for John McCain on election day?’’
Brock said, ‘‘Yes, I am.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Obama is going win.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Nobama.’’ He started chuckling, Alyssa mocked his chuckle and said, ‘‘Funny.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Thanks.’’ After a few hours, they finished, they walked outside, as they were walking. Crystal said, ‘‘Well, it wasn’t a fight. It was more of a discussion.’’ Alyssa asked ‘‘About what?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘You saw how that filth was hitting my man.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘You scare me, Crystal.’’ She added, ‘‘What did Brock say about that girl?’’

His friend said, ‘‘What, just because you’re all ‘‘goody goody’’ doesn’t I am too.’’ Brock replied, ‘‘It’s not that, do you have any idea what that crap does to you?’’ He said, ‘‘No, and I don’t care.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Okay look, give me ten minutes. If you don’t agree with what I say, you keep watching it.’’ He sat down again, Brock said, ‘‘Okay…….. first off, how would feel if a random men uses your mom for pleasure?’’ He just stayed silent. Brock said, ‘‘Second, I heard that filth messes up your
relationship with your partner, in this case your future girlfriend slash wife. I know you’re single right now. But, in the future you’re going to find love. You’re going to ignore her, just to watch that filth. Even worse, you’re probably going to lose her.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Third, It’s basically prostitution. The only difference is, one films it. The other is in private. I know other guys that say, it ruined their lives. So for your own good, stop watching it.’’ His friend realized Brock right. He said, ‘‘I’ll think about what you said.’’ He left because he had to work.
Brock said, ‘‘I just wish I could end that stupid empire.’’ He check the time, he had to leave for class already. So he picked up his backpack at his apartment, and left for college.

Well I was going to show another song.’’ He asked, ‘‘What song?’’ She said, ‘‘Why can’t I, by Liz Phair’’
He asked ‘‘Are you serious?’’ In a shocked voice. She replied, ‘‘Yes, what’s wrong with it?’’ He said, ‘‘That song has dirty lyrics.’’ She asked, ‘‘Do you mean like badwords?’’ He said, ‘‘No. yes, but it’s more towards naughty things than badwords.’’ She asked, ‘‘For reals?’’ he nodded yes. HE wants a relationship.’’ She said, ‘‘Oh, okay.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Crystal has gone to church with me, and she liked it.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Yeah it was really good. You should go mom and dad.’’ Brock asked Crystal, ‘‘Are you going this Sunday, Crystal?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Yes, I am.’’ She asked her parents, ‘‘Do you want to go guys?’’

It wouldn’t matter if he would’ve made a big
deal. They would’ve ended up together, and started a family.

Brock said, ‘‘Since I’m done with my homework, I’m free tonight.’’ He added, ‘‘What you want to do?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I’ve been wanting to see, ‘‘The Dutchess’’ for
a while now. We should check it out.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘What’s it about?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘It’s based on a romantic novel.’’ Brock sighed and hung his head. Crystal said, ‘‘Oh, come on Brock.’’ Playfully pushed him. ‘‘We saw transformers and Iron Man, we’re going to see this one.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Alrightt, we’ll go and see that one.’’ He kissed her, She said, ‘‘Yeaah.’’ Then she began to talk gibberish. He laughed and said, ‘‘Come on, let’s go.’’
They went to movies and after two hours in a half, the got out of theater. They were walking to Crystal’s car. They were holding hands while they were walking to her car. Crystal asked, ‘‘Did you like the movie?’’ Brock said, ‘‘It would’ve been better if it had action it in.’’ Crystal rolled her eyes and said, ‘‘Ugh, men. Always fueled with testosterone.’’ Then she began to mock them, by saying, ‘‘Look, I have bigger biceps than you.’’ Then she began making sounds of a male ape. Brock replied, ‘‘Yet you can’t resist me.’’
Crystal said, ‘‘Brock, I resisted you for a week.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Ha. So you were attracted to me from the git-go.’’ Crystal was going say something, instead she smiled and put her head down for a second. Because she knew that he was right. Brock kissed her top of her head. Crystal said, ‘‘Oh, Brock. How can anyone hurt you? You’re so sweet and good hearted.’’ She laid her head on his shoulder. He said, ‘‘They used to nicknamed me ‘‘Barbarian’’ when I was in middle and high school.’’ Crystal lifted her head, and asked, ‘‘Why?’’
He said, ‘‘Because I used to wrestle like a savage ---- and I am stubborn and brutal.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I bet your opponents where scared of you, huh?’’ Brock chuckled and asked, ‘‘Did I ever asked you were you in sports in high school?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘No, you haven’t.’’ Brock asked, ‘’Well, were you?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Well, I was in cheerleader in high school. After junior year, I got out.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘Why?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Too much drama.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘What year did you graduated high school?’’
Crystal said, ‘‘I graduated in ninety four. And you?’’ Brock said, ‘‘O seven.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘So, you were barely entering high school when I graduated college.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘What’s your ex name?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Natalie Ortiz. Well, that’s her maiden name. I don’t know if she got married.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Now I could say it.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘Say what?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Her lost is my gain.’’ With an enthusiastic voice. Brock said, ‘‘You make me happy.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I’m happy that I met you.’’ They kissed, She said,
‘‘Yeaah.’’ Then she began to talk gibberish. He laughed because of what she did, finally they got to her car. They got in and drove to Brock’s apartment.
As they drove to his apartment, Crystal asked, ‘‘So---- what did your mom say when she found out that you were dating your professor? Was she okay with it?’’ Brock scoffs and replied, ‘‘No. But what is she going to do, ground me?’’ He added, ‘‘Besides, outside of school, we’re just adults. You’re older of course.’’
Crystal said, ‘‘I know the answer to this question, but I have to ask.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Ok, ask me.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘Would you leave your now ex gf for me?’’ Brock just stared at Crystal. She asked, ‘‘What?’’ laughing while she was saying that. Brock asked, ‘‘Would you leave your now ex bf for me?’’ Crystal laughed and said, ‘‘Yeah, he was a big a------- errr, douchebag.’’ Brock said, ‘‘You were going to say donkey hole, right?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Yup, sorry.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Ass isn’t a badword. Only when you used it
with hole.’’ Mouthing the word hole. Brock asked, ‘‘Why is it okay to say, Swine, K-9, and many other proper names for animals. And you can’t say ass?’’ He continued saying, ‘‘You can’t say, ass or quote on quote ‘‘badwords?’’ Then Crystal asked, ‘‘Have you ever wondered what our kids would be like?’’ Brock answered, ‘‘Yup, from the day we started dating.’’ Crystal replied, ‘‘Wow, since that day?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Yeah, believe it or not.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘How many children would you like to have?’’
Brock said, ‘‘At least four or five. All boys, if GOD willing.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘All boys? Why? Why not at least one girl?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Boys are more about rough housing, and girls are more about, harmonizing, and playing inside.’’ Crystal blew raspberries, and said, ‘‘Babe you don’t know me. I might’ve been a cheerleader, but woooweee I could hang with the boys. If I can do that, then our little girl could give boys a hard time.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Since you said that, how about this weekend we have a little competition?’’
Crystal said, ‘‘You’re on, if I win, we will try to have a girl. If you win, we’ll just have boys.’’ Then Crystal asked, ‘‘Did your mom ever found out you slept with that slu---’’ Then Brock turned to see Crystal, she said, ‘‘Slooper of your girlfriend?’’ Brock sighed and said, ‘‘Yes, I---- I told her.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘What’d she say?’’ Brock said, ‘‘She said, I was too young to be doing that.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘Did she get mad?’’ Brock scoffed and said, ‘‘Surprisingly, no.’’
Crystal asked, ‘‘What did she say?’’ Brock said, ‘‘She said, do I have any idea how hard it is to raise a child?’’ Crystal said ‘‘I bet it is.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘Are you still--y’know, innocent?’’ Crystal was confused for a second, and squinted her eyes. Then she got the idea of what he meant. She said, ‘‘Oh, that. I was about to do stuff with my boyfriend, but I didn’t want to go that far. So we stopped.’’ She scoffed and said, ‘‘Thank GOD too. Because my parents walked in
minutes later.’’ She added, ‘‘They would’ve FREAKED.’’ Brock said, ‘‘And rightfully so.’’ He added, ‘‘Her mom walked in me lying in bed with her.’’ Crystal got bothered that Brock kept bringing Natalie up. She said, ‘‘Can you please stop talking about your ex?’’ Brock just turned to look at Crystal. After a few seconds, Brock said, ‘‘You have a deep voice for woman.’’ Crystal jokingly replied, ‘‘What, do you feel emasculated by my voice?’’ Brock said, ‘‘No, it’s quite the opposite.’’
Crystal said, ‘‘I don’t know why, my voice reminds me of Powergirl.’’ Brock asked ‘‘Who’s Powergirl?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Who’s Powergirl?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Yeah, I just asked that.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Powergirl is alternate version of Supergirl.’’ Brock replied, ‘‘Oh, she’s DC character?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Yes, she is.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Not a fan DC.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘Only Batman, or what?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Yup.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘What relationship from comics would you compare us to?’’
Brock said, ‘‘I don’t know. I think Bruce Wayne and Vicky Vale.’’
After thirty minutes they arrived to Crystal’s house. She said, ‘‘Okay, see you tomorrow.’’ They kissed and She said, ‘‘Yeaah.’’ Then she began to talk gibberish. Brock couldn’t help but laugh, he asked, ‘‘Why do you do that?’’ He added, ‘‘You never told me why do you that.’’ Crystal put her hand on his face, and said, ‘‘One day I’ll tell you why I do that.’’ She tap his cheek, and got off.
Crystal asked, ‘‘Are you going to have my class tomorrow?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Yes I am.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘Have you finish the homework that I assigned?’’ Putting her blonde hair behind her ear. Brock said, ‘‘Yes, I did.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I already knew the answer. I just wanted to ask.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Okay, see you tomorrow.’’ Then he said, ‘‘L---love you.’’ Crystal smiled, and said, ‘‘I love too, Brock.’’ She smiled and close the car door. Brock drove off, Crystal walked to her house. As she walked to her house, she said, ‘‘Brock, you make
me weak, that’s why I do that. I’m too proud to let you know that you make me weak.’’ She added, ‘‘If I’m like Powergirl, then you’re my kryptonite.’’ She entered her house, then she got a text saying, ‘‘Man, woman. Ever since you started to date your student, I hardly hear from you.’’ Crystal texted back saying, ‘‘Hey, he’s my kryptonite. He makes me weak, and I can’t stand being without him.’’ Then Crystal slapped her forehead and said, ‘‘Crap, I shouldn’t never had said that.’’ Alyssa messaged back, saying, ‘‘HA, SO THERE’S A MAN THAT BRINGS YOU TO YOUR KNEES. IT’S,
BBBBBBBRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOO OOOOOCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKK KKKKKKKK.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘Are you screaming out of anger or excitement?’’ Then Alyssa text back, ‘‘Excitement.’’ A few seconds later, she asked, ‘‘Why would I be angry?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘We both know we were attracted to Brock from the start.’’ Crystal smacked her forehead with her palm of her hand, and said to herself, ‘‘I’m showing my vulnerable side. Nnnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooo o.’’
Alyssa said, ‘‘Guess who saw today?’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘Who?’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Mr. Good’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Why don’t you call him by his name, Greg Rodgers?’’ She added, ‘‘Brock used to be wrestler, if that good for nothing crap gets near me, I’ll just throw Brock at him.’’ Alyssa was typing, when Crystal said, ‘‘DO NOT EVEN THINK OF GOING THERE.’’ Then Alyssa said, ‘‘See you tomorrow, woman. Bye.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Thank you GOD for allowing me meet Brock.’’ Then she saw the episodes of the
second season of ‘‘The Big Bang Theory’’ Then she fell asleep.
Brock arrived to his apartment, he played video games. Then he got on the internet to check when the game is coming out. He said, ‘‘Crud, I have to wait another year.’’ He continued playing video games, then he started to have flashbacks. He started to visualize Natalie kissing Brad. He tried to block those images out. But, the harder he tried, the stronger the flashbacks came. He stopped playing, started to pace around, and trying to calm down.
He breathed like a bull when he’s ready to charge. He said, ‘‘Calm down, Brock. You’re with Crystal now.’’ He couldn’t bear the fact that he gave all he had to Natalie, and she was going to give herself to Brad. Brock reached his max, he couldn’t take it anymore, and he went on a berserker rampage. He finally gave the angriest shout ever, he tore books, he threw all of his movies in the air, and he got his games and threw them around. He smashed his sofa over and over and over again. He acted like the Incredible Hulk, and threw tantrum. He didn’t
care of was acting like a child. He would rather let out all of his frustration and be labeled ‘‘childish’’ than allowing his frustration eat away at him.
Chapter 13 C
rystal walked towards the cafeteria
just to say hi to Brock. She entered the cafeteria, she looked around the cafeteria. After five minutes of looking for him, she texted him asking, ‘‘Where are you?’’ Brock replied, ‘‘In the cafeteria.’’ Crystal replied, ‘‘No, duh. Where exactly?’’ Then Brock told her where. Crystal said, ‘‘I’m going over there.’’ She went where Brock was and she saw him talking to Carol again. She tried to play it cool, and telling herself, ‘‘They’re just friends, Crystal. They’re just friends.’’ She got to they were at, she said, ‘‘I need to talk to you Brock. Alone.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Give us twenty minutes, Carol.’’
Carol said, ‘‘Okay, t t y l, Brock.’’ Carol left, Crystal was just staring at her as she walked away. Crystal couldn’t stand that Carol was talking to her man. Especially, that she knows that Carol has a crush on him. She sat down and said, ‘‘Just dropping off to say hi.’’ Then she pulled out papers under her arm, and said, ‘‘You need to redo your paper.’’ She put the papers on the table. Brock was confused for a second. He realized that she was making an excuse just to see him. Crystal said, ‘‘You have some mistakes that you made on your paper.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘What are you really here for?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Just here to say, hi to my bf.’’ She added, ‘‘Are you ready to lose this Saturday?’’ Brock scoffed and said, ‘‘I’m going to beat you, this Saturday.’’ Crystal moved towards him and said, ‘‘Honey, you don’t know who you’re messing with.’’ Then she
realized they were in the college campus. She sat back turning to see if anyone noticed her. Brock asked, ‘‘Can I invite Carol?’’ Crystal’s blood boiled with jealousy when he asked that. As much as she wanted screamed at Brock for asking that. She kept her cool, and said, ‘‘Yes, you could invite her.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Alright cool. I’ll tell her.’’ Crystal mumbled, ‘‘Hope something bad happens to her.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘What’d you say?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I said, I just remembered I have to check some papers in my class. Gotta go, bye.’’ She got up and left, she powered walked out of the cafeteria. Brock said, ‘‘You forgot the pape…… ers.’’ But she was too far for her to hear. Brock said, ‘‘Just give ‘em back when I go to her class.’’ He put them in his backpack and left for his first class.
Crystal was walking to her class, as she was walking, she ran to Alyssa. She said, ‘‘What’s up, woman?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Hi, Alyssa.’’ Alyssa asked, ‘‘Already talked to your man?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Yes, he was talking to that snotty girl again.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Better draw a line. You don’t want her snacking on your food court.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Naw, he won’t cheat on me. Especially that he knows what it feels like to be cheated on.’’ Then Crystal closed her eyes and realized she said too much. Alyssa said, ‘‘Tell me more, tell me more.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Okay, but don’t say a word.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Okay, I won’t.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Brock had a girlfriend in high school. They had a teacher that she thought was handsome. One day, Brock walked in on them about to get wild.’’ Alyssa screamed whispered, ‘‘Ouch!’’ Then she said in her normal voice, ‘‘That gotta hurt.’’
Crystal said, ‘‘Poor Brock, who would hurt that handsome guy.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Apparently that dumb girl. I don’t care if it’s Channing Tatum, Brock is too handsome to cheat on.’’ She added, ‘‘Channing used to be…………’’ Then Crystal quickly said, ‘‘I know, I know. Like I’ve asked, how are you single? You’re clearly boy crazy.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Like I said, no man can handle me.’’ Then they arrived at Crystal’s class, Alyssa said, ‘‘Laters woman.’’ Crystal said bye back, and started planning the lessons.
The day passed by, it Crystal saw Brock was coming in the class. She couldn’t help but smile, she saw Carol stopped him to tell him something. Crystal face quickly turn from pleasant to serious. After thirty seconds, Crystal said, ‘‘Mr. Sanchez, either get in here and learn, or skip my class to talk with your s- friend. But don’t hold up the class.’’ Brock knew
that Crystal got jealous. He said bye to Carol, then got inside the class. After one hour ½ later, the class finished, Brock left to talk his professor girlfriend. He walked up to Crystal, and said, ‘‘Honey………’’ Crystal said, ‘‘While school grounds refer to me as, Professor Davis or Ms. Davis. Not my first name.’’ Brock sighed and ask, ‘‘Okay, Professor Davis. Do you want to go eat?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Yes.’’ Brock said, ‘‘I want to in my car go this time.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Okay, we’re going in your car. Just let me drop it off at my house.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘Did you get jealous again because Carol was talking to me?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Yes, I did. So what? You’re my man, I get jealous because I luv……….’’ She paused for a couple of seconds. Brock was in shock, Crystal said, ‘‘I’m in love with you, Brock.’’ She added, ‘‘I’m a strong independent thirty year old woman who needs no man to provide for
me. But when it comes to you….. when comes to you….. When it comes to you…. I, I, I just enter a place where they call, ‘‘La la land.’’ Whatever that is.’’ He kissed her, she said, ‘‘Yeaah.’’ Then she began to talk gibberish. Like always, Brock couldn’t help but laugh, she said, ‘‘I’ll tell you why I do that after we get married.’’ Then her face turned serious and said, ‘‘I’m going to have a talk with your friend.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘Who?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘You’ll see.’’ She asked, ‘‘Hungry?’’ He said, ‘‘Yup. Let’s go, but first, I need to do something.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Okay wait for you at my car.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Okay.’’ As she left her classroom.
Crystal walked through the college searching for Carol. After ten minutes of searching, she finally found her. Carol was opening her car door, when she felt a strong
force closing the car door. She looked up and saw Crystal standing there. She asked, ‘‘Can I help you professor………..?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Davis.’’ Carol asked, ‘‘Can I help you?’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘How long have you known Brock?’’ She said, ‘‘Since middle school, why?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Well, let’s just say--- after one week he started college, we started to spending a lot of time together.’’ Carol had a shocked face and asked, ‘‘You’re dating him?’’ She added, ‘‘Brock said, his heart hasn’t completely move on from Natalie.’’ Carol asked herself, ‘‘So he lied to me?’’ Crystal Said ‘‘No, but you better control yourself when you’re around my man. Oh, and I made him move on from that skank. He told me what she did to him.’’ Carol couldn’t believe that Brock was dating his professor. Crystal said, ‘‘You two could still be friends, but if I see hanky panky behavior.
You WILL feel my wrath.’’ Carol just stayed quiet while Crystal walked away.
Brock and Crystal were eating at the restaurant. They were talking, then Brock’s phone rang. He answered, it was Carol. He said, ‘‘Oh, hi Carol.’’ Crystal face turned serious, Carol started talking very fast. Brock asked, ‘‘She did what? Really?’’ Then he said, ‘‘Well, it wasn’t my plan. We just fell for each other. Ok, thank you. I’m still here for you as a friend. GOD bless, bye.’’ Brock hang up and stared at Crystal for thirty seconds. He asked, ‘‘You confronted my friend, Carol?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Yes, and…………… what’s the problem?’’ He said, ‘‘Crystal.’’ She said, ‘‘What, she was hitting on my man. I had to do something.’’ She added, ‘‘Don’t tell me you wouldn’t do the samething.’’
Brock said, ‘‘Yeah, but she’s my friend. Besides, with those beautiful green eyes. You’ll always have me all to yourself.’’ Crystal couldn’t help but smile. Crystal asked, ‘‘Have you ever had a teacher that you thought was pretty?’’ Brock said, ‘‘About a dozen of ‘em.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘Did your’’ she cleared her throat. She said through her teeth,‘‘Exgirlfriend’’ then she started her normal voice, asking, ‘‘Knew that you had teachers that you thought they were pretty?’’ Brock said, ‘‘I’m pretty sure she did. I’m a guy, and I’m attracted to women.’’ Crystal began to smile, he asked, ‘‘What are you smiling at?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Can’t wait to humiliate you this weekend.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Oh, that. I’m going to prove this man is more dominate than you.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Yeah, right. In your dreams.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Yeah, in there too.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Carol could be in your team.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘Really, why?’’
Crystal said, ‘‘So I could humiliate her for hitting on my man.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘Really, you’re still with that?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘No one hits on my man and gets away with it. No one.’’
After one hour of eating, they left the restaurant. Brock asked, ‘‘What do you want to do?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I wanted to see if the game, ‘‘Spider-Man Web Of Shadows is any good.’’ They began to walk to her car, and while they were walking, Brock said, ‘‘Video games, comic books, sports, and into GOD. And by the looks of it, you work-out. GOD must really love me or I’m just dreaming.’’ He said, ‘‘I’m probably asleep, and I’m still feeling the effects of my ex cheating on me. Someone please pinch me.’’ Crystal gladly pinched him. He said, ‘‘I wasn’t serious. I know I’m not dreaming.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I know, you mentioned her. So I pinched you.’’ They arrived at her car,
got in, and drove to rent the game. While she was driving to rent the game, he ask, ‘‘Do you get jealous when I mention Natalie?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘They call them ex for a reason Brock, so you could move on from them.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Maybe you’re just the jealous type.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘What’s weird is --- I never felt jealous with former boyfriend. Only with you. Of course, if he flirted with another girl, I would’ve tear his head off. But I wasn’t like how I am with you.’’ Brock said, ‘‘It’s because I’m more handsome.’’ Crystal chuckled and said, ‘‘Narcissism much.’’ Brock said, ‘‘No, confidence. There’s a difference.’’
They arrived at gamestop, as Brock was renting the game. The clerk asked, ‘‘Hey aren’t you Brock Sanchez?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Yes I am.’’
The clerk said, ‘‘We went to school together.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Oh, yeah.’’ The clerk asked, ‘‘How are you doing?’’ Brock said, ‘‘I’m fine.’’ The clerk said, ‘‘You could buy it if you want.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Ok, I think I’ll buy it.’’ He bought it instead of renting it. They left the store. Crystal asked, ‘‘Is it multiplayer?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Let me check.’’ He said, ‘‘No, it’s single player.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Crap, I wanted to play with you.’’ They went to Crystal’s house.
Crystal was watching Brock playing the game. Crystal said, ‘‘I don’t know who I like more, Mary Jane or Black Cat.’’ Brock said, ‘‘She’s a total rip off of Catwoman.’’ She said, ‘‘She didn’t take the super soldier serum like Captain America in the comics. I don’t why they added that in the nineties animated series.’’
Brock said, ‘‘Oh, yeah.’’ Then he turned to Crystal and asked, ‘‘Wait, you were in middle or high school, and you still watch cartoons?’’ Crystal replied, ‘‘Yeah, what, teens aren’t supposed to watch cartoons or what?’ Brock said, ‘‘No no no. I’m surprised, because people tell me, I’m too old to be watching cartoons.’’ Crystal blew raspberries, and asked, ‘‘Says who? The President?’’ She added, ‘‘Ffffffff….’’ Brock turned to look at her with a serious look. She said, ‘‘Fffffforget what anyone says. Yup, I was going to say that.’’ Slowly nodding her head yes. Brock said, ‘‘Yeah, of course you were.’’ Time went on, Brock finally stopped playing. Crystal asked, ‘‘Do you work?’’ Brock replied, ‘‘Yeah, why?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘You never mentioned your work. I thought mama and papa would pay everything for you.’’ Brock scoffed and said, ‘‘Yeah right, do you actually think they’ll pay for my rent?’’
Crystal said, ‘‘Hey, you might be one of those spoiled kids. I don’t know.’’ Brock said, ‘‘I’m a man, I earn my living.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I’ve always wanted ask you, would’ve you told me that you like me as a woman?’’ Brock replied, ‘‘Would’ve you ever told me that you like me as a man?’’ Crystal smiled and said, ‘‘You got me there.’’
Time went on, it was getting late for Brock. He said, ‘‘I’ve got to go.’’ He asked, ‘‘Would you like me leave the game here?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Whatever you want my handsome.’’ She walked him to the door. They kissed, she said, ‘‘Yeaah.’’ Then she began to talk gibberish. Like always Brock couldn’t help but laugh. Crystal said, ‘‘When we get married.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘What?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I tell you why I do that when we get married.’’
Brock said, ‘‘Okay, I really want to know. I always wonder why you do that.’’ They both said bye, and I love you. Brock opened the door and walked to his car. Crystal closed the door.
Crystal closed the door, she smiled and began sing, ‘‘I’m walking on sunshine. Whoooaoaoaoaoh. I’m walking on sunshine. Whoooaoaoaoaoah. It’s time feel good.’’ She texted Alyssa, ‘‘I’M IN LOVE. I’M IN LOVE. I’M IN LOVE.’’ Alyssa texted back, ‘‘I’m so happy for you, yeah, we might not talk that often like we used to. But you’re happy, and I’m happy that you’re happy.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I hope he asks me to marry him soon.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘I’m sure he will, woman. I’m sure he will.’’
Meanwhile at Brock’s apartment, Brock was just thinking about Crystal. He couldn’t take off that smile off of his face. He couldn’t help but sing love songs. He didn’t care, he put ‘‘So Far Away’’ by Staind. Then, ‘‘Time Like These’’ by Foo Fighters. Then, ‘‘I Swear’’ by All 4 One. Then, ‘‘How Do I Live Without You’’ by LeAnn Rimes. Then, ‘‘Kiss From A Rose’’ by Seal. ‘‘Wonderwall’’ by Oasis. And last, ‘‘Truly Madly Deeply’’ by Savage Garden. Then his mom called him, she asked, ‘‘What are you doing?’’ He said, ‘‘Listening to love songs.’’ His mom asked, ‘‘For GOD?’’ Despite the fact she knew why he was hearing love songs. He said, ‘‘No mah, for Crystal. She wants me to call her, Professor Davis.’’ She asked, ‘‘Why?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Don’t know, don’t care.’’ His mom sighed, ‘‘Okay, just remember, be careful.’’ He said, ‘‘Okay, bye.’’ His mom said, ‘‘Bye wait a second, Brock. You know you’re not supposed listen to that music.’’ He said, ‘‘I know but I’m in love again. What are you going to do, spank me?’’
She said, ‘‘No, but GOD will.’’ Brock chuckled, ‘‘Okay, mom. Gotta go, bye.’’ She said, bye back. And in a lighting speed he said, ‘‘Gonna ask her to marry me. Bye.’’ His mom was confuse of what he said and didn’t want to call him back. So she just left like that.
Chapter 14 I
t was the final school day of
the week, Crystal was walking through the college. She saw Brock, she stop him and asked, ‘‘Are you ready to lose today?’’ Brock replied, ‘‘Please, after this afternoon, you’ll heading home with your head down.’’ Then Brock saw Carol, he said, ‘‘Crud. There’s Carol. I’m going to ask if she wants to play with us.’’
Then Brock walked towards Carol. Crystal said to herself, ‘‘I shouldn’t be like this towards Carol or any other female, it’s not their fault that they find Brock handsome. I find Chad Murray handsome, I’m pretty sure Brock wouldn’t make a big deal about it if I was friends with him. But then again, that jezebel cheated on him, Brock could have trust issues after that.’’ Alyssa came and said, ‘‘Hey woman, what are you doing?’’ Crystal turned to look at Brock and Carol. Then Alyssa saw who Brock and Carol, she said, ‘‘Calm down woman, calm down. They’re just friends.’’
Crystal said, ‘‘He’s inviting her to our contest tomorrow.’’ Alyssa asked, ‘‘And you’re okay with it?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Trying to. I’m trying to myself they’re just friends.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘That’s true, I mean if Brock wanted to cheat on you, he would’ve done it already.’’ Brock asked Carol, ‘‘Carol, me, my professor.’’ Carol said, ‘‘Professor girlfriend.’’ Brock just shrugged it off and said, ‘‘And some other people are going to have little competition this afternoon, want to join?’’
Carol said, ‘‘Y’know, I thought you were a straight up guy. That you would say things straight forward and not make excuses. Apparently not.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Look, Carol. I wasn’t thinking of her when I told you, no. I didn’t know that I was going fall for her. I was going to give you a chance, but we started hanging out and we fell for each other.’’ Carol said, ‘‘Y’know, if you weren’t so handsome, I would stop talking you.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘So you’re coming?’’ She said, ‘‘Yes, I’m coming, what time?’’
Brock said, ‘‘Today after school.’’ Carol asked, ‘‘Where is it going to be?’’ He told her where. Carol said, ‘‘I’ll be there.’’ Carol asked, ‘‘So, I can’t give you hugs anymore?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Nope, I’m in a relationship now.’’ Carol said bye and walked away. Then Brock came back from talking to Carol. Brock said, ‘‘She’s coming.’’ Brock said hi to Alyssa. Crystal just stared at Brock with her eyes squinted. Brock asked, ‘‘Why are you staring at me like that?’’
Crystal said, ‘‘See you at class.’’ Then Crystal and Alyssa walked to their classes.
The day went by, it was the last class. Brock entered Crystal’s class. He sat down as Crystal was waiting for rest of the student to come in. After fifty minutes, Crystal saw Brock, he made signs to cut it short. Crystal said, ‘‘Okay class, it’s Friday. I know you’re waiting to get out of here to have fun. So get out of here and enjoy your weekend.’’
The students left, Brock walked up to Crystal. He jokingly asked, ‘‘Ready to lose?’’ Crystal jokingly said, ‘‘I’m ready to see you cry.’’ Brock scoffed and said, ‘‘Yeah, not gonna happened. You’re going down.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Not even in your dreams.’’ They went to their own homes, got dress in sporty clothes, and drove to the park. While driving there, Crystal playing fully told Brock, ‘‘I’ll show what girlpower means.’’ Brock told Crystal, ‘‘Professor Davis, you truly don’t know who you’re messing
with.’’ Then they arrived at the park, they chose their teammates, and began to play. Crystal showed Brock how competitive she is. Crystal would make Carol look like an amateur. Crystal eliminated Carol, then Crystal allowed her jealousy to get the best of her. She began to talk trash to Carol, and the rest of the people was just staring at her. ‘‘What? You don’t have nothing on me.’’ Crystal said. It came down to Brock and Crystal. They brought the competiveness out of each other.
Finally after twenty minutes, Brock got the win for his team, and they left the park after that. Crystal and Brock went to eat. They arrived at the restaurant, they ordered, and a few minutes later, they ate. Brock prayed for his food, he finished praying, and began to eat. Crystal said, ‘‘Told you I was a tough woman.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Yeah, you’re tough. I still beat you.’’ Crystal scoffed and said, ‘‘Yeah, barely. Who knows, maybe I let you win.’’ In a playful manner.
Brock smiled and said, ‘‘Your mind games won’t work on me.’’ He added, ‘‘Boy, you didn’t hesitate to let everyone know that had something against Carol.’’ Taking a sip out of his drink. Crystal said, ‘‘Like I said, Do, not, touch, my, man.’’ Brock replied, ‘‘Speaking of me being your man, when do you want to get married?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Soon, we still need to plan it.’’ Brock said, ‘‘We could start planning it right now.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Well give me two months. I need to give a
heads up to the head of the college first.''
They left the restaurant, walked to her car, got in, and drove to Brock’s apartment. While driving there, Crystal asked, ‘‘Does the bible say we or you aren’t allowed listen to nonCHRISTian music?’’ Brock said, ‘‘No, but we believe that, that music is not from GOD.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘Why?’’ He said, ‘‘I don’t know. I just was just brought up like that.’’ Then Brock said, ‘‘But then again,
‘‘Madagascar’’ one and two aren’t CHRISTian movies. Why is it ok for us to see those movies, or any G, PG, PG-13, movies?’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘How about rated R movies?’’ Brock said, ‘‘I try not to watch movies that has R rated sexual scenes or any explicit nudity. As for the violence? There I go again, why is it okay watch, Passion Of The Christ, (which it’s not really Jesus, it’s an actor playing Jesus.) and we can’t watch movies that hardcore violence? There’s some things I don’t get. Now, I don’t care to listen to non-CHRISTian music. But, I don’t see how it is ok for the
movies and not music. I get it if the song sends wrong messages, but when it’s clean like ‘‘Pieces Of Me’’ by Ashlee Simpson, I don’t see why is it wrong. Like, ‘‘Why can’t I’’ boy, that song has dirty lyrics.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Sorry about that. I didn’t realized it said that.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘You’re a Hispanic, right?’’ Brock said, ‘’Yes, I am.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘Why don’t you speak Spanish a lot more?’’ Brock said, ‘‘I don’t know, I guess I allow my English to be more dominate.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘Can you teach me?’’ He said, ‘‘Okay.’’
Crystal stared at him ready for him to teach her. Brock asked, ‘‘Now?’’ Crystal nodded her head, yes. Brock said, ‘‘Me gusta tus ojos verdes.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Ojos means eyes, right?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Yup.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘You said, you like my eyes.’’ Brock said, ‘‘I said, I like your green eyes.’’
Brock left Crystal at her house, he said, ‘‘Okay, bye.’’ He kissed her, she said, ‘‘Yeaah.’’ Then she
began to talk gibberish. Brock laughed. Crystal said, ‘‘At our wedding day, I’ll tell you why I do that.’’ Brock said, ‘‘I love you.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I love you too, Brock.’’ Crystal got down and walked to her house. Brock drove to his apartment.
Over the two months that Brock and Crystal were dating, Brock began to show Crystal how stubborn and brutal he could be. Brock didn’t let Crystal fully in. They would get into heated arguments.
Crystal would say, ‘‘No wonder Natalie left you. You’re impossible to be in a relationship with.’’ Since they loved each other they made up hours after they argue.
Chapter 15 C rystal invited Brock to eat breakfast before college. She asked, ‘‘In your whole life, did your ever imagine you’d be dating your professor?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Well, you never know what’s going to happen in your life. To answer your question, no. I didn’t imagine that.’’
Crystal smiled and said, ‘‘You make me happy, Brock.’’ Brock replied, ‘‘You make me happy, too.’’ Then Crystal remembered that she had a morning class. She said, ‘‘Gotta go, I have a morning class to teach.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Okay, see later you in class.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Love you.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Love you too.’’ Crystal got up and left to teach. Brock left twenty minutes later.
Crystal arrived to the college campus. As she walked to her
class, she wondered, ‘‘I hope Brock asks me to marry him already. I know we’re going on our three month anniversary. But still, I’m not getting any younger, and I don’t want to a forty year old woman who’s barely becoming a mom.’’ As she walked to her class she saw Carol, she went up to Carol and said, ‘‘Listen, hhhhhuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh………’ ’ Carol said her name. Crystal said, ‘‘I know I came harsh, and I know you didn’t know that Brock and I were secretly dating. I came here to apologize for the way I acted towards you. It was completely immature of me. And
when me and Brock get married, I’d like for you to come.’’ As much as Carol wanted to date Brock, she said, ‘‘Okay, thanks for the invite. I’ll go to support Brock’s happiness.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘You’re welcome.’’ Crystal was going to walk away, when Crystal asked, ‘‘Was Brock always stubborn and brutal, or did his break-up made him like that?’’ Carol said, ‘‘He’s been like that as long I’ve known him.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Huh. Well, hopefully my charm and green eyes changes him. Laters.’’ They both said bye and went to class.
Brock arrived to college to work-out, after finished, he got a text asking, ‘‘Handsome, are you here already?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Yes, I’m working out.’’ A few seconds later, Brock texted saying, ‘‘Listen I need to tell you something.’’ Crystal texted back, ‘‘Okay, what’s it about?’’ He texted, ‘‘This has to be in person and in private.’’ Crystal’s heart started raising, good and bad scenarios started playing in her mind. She heard voice saying, ‘‘Woman.’’ Crystal jumped.
Alyssa walked inside the classroom. She asked, ‘‘Are you alright, woman?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Y-yeah, I’m alright.’’ Alyssa chuckled and said, ‘‘Man, Crystal. You really let the people know that you have aggression towards that girl.’’ Smiling afterwards. Crystal ignored her comment. Crystal asked, ‘‘When your boyfriend says, he needs to tell you something in person --- what do you think it means?’’ Alyssa responded, ‘‘Well, he could possibly want take things the next level, maybe he wants to take a break, or maybe he wants
to move on.’’ Then Alyssa said, ‘‘I got to woman.’’ She walked to the door, she said, ‘‘I don’t think that Brock would break-up with you, he loves you. You can see it in his eyes.’’ She left to her classroom.
The day went on, it was the last class of the day. Crystal saw Brock entering the classroom. Crystal’s heart began to beat fast. She waited for the rest of the students to come in. Once she saw no more students coming in, she closed the door, and started her class. After two hours, Crystal said, ‘‘Okay, class. I’ve got personal
business to attend to. You guys are dismiss.’’ They all left, Brock was the last one, and he walked up Crystal. Crystal asked, ‘‘What do you want talk about?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Let’s go to the park. We should talk there.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Okay, let’s go.’’ So they went to the park, as they walked through the park holding hands. Brock said, ‘‘Crystal.’’ She looked at him. ‘‘Professor Davis, we’ve been dating for a while now. And we make each other happy, we laughed, we shouted, like a lot. Out of all that, I still can’t and don’t want to picture
my future without you. You’re just amazing. I love you with all of my heart. Now I ask, Crystal Marie Davis.’’ Crystal’s heart was pounding out of her chest. ‘‘Crystal Marie Davis, will you………. Will you change your last name to Sanchez? What I’m trying to say, is……….. will you marry me?’’ A big smile appeared on Crystal’s mouth and she said, ‘‘Yes, Brock. Yes I’ll marry you.’’ He kissed her, she said, ‘‘Yeaah.’’ Then she began to talk gibberish. After that they went to eat and invited Alyssa.
Brock, Crystal and, Alyssa were eating. Then Alyssa asked Brock, ‘‘If GOD so loving, why HE would send someone hell for being homosexual?’’ Brock said, ‘‘HE won’t send someone to hell for being gay. They’ll go to hell homosexual behavior. Check this out, Crystal and I love each other. So we have desire to sleep together. We are not allowed to sleep together before marriage, GOD will hold it against us, if we choose to sleep together.’’ Alyssa asked, ‘‘Is sex a sin?’’ Brock said, ‘‘No, any sexual activity outside of marriage is a sin.’’
Alyssa asked, ‘‘How can GOD create homosexuals?’’ Brock responded, ‘‘Well, the real question is……… how do we actually know the GOD made you or anybody to be attracted to the same gender.’’ He continued saying, ‘‘All of us have certain things that we're not supposed to. Because we live in a sinful world, we all are sinful people, that’s why Jesus came. To die for us and save us.’’ Alyssa asked, ‘‘Is that desire wrong to have?’’ Brock said, ‘‘That’s why I used me and Crystal.’’ Then Crystal said, ‘‘Professor Davis.’’
Brock said, ‘‘Okay fine, Professor Davis as an example. We want to sleep together. But we don’t act on it because it’s a sin to sleep together before marriage.’’ Crystal took a drink of her beverage and said in her mind, ‘‘Yet you slept with that skank.’’ Alyssa replied, ‘‘Who’s to say that you shouldn’t be with the same gender.’’ Brock said, ‘‘I can’t say anything because I’m not the Creator of the universe. Alyssa replied, ‘‘Okay………………. who’s to say, it’s not the same as Crystal loving you?’’
Brock said, ‘‘Like I said, I’m not making the rules. You have define what you mean by love. Can you love the same gender? Yes you can. But you shouldn’t go beyond platonic relationship.’’ Alyssa asked, ‘‘How about transgenders? Lately, some people feel like they’re the opposite gender, and they want to change genders. Is it wrong? And if it’s okay to go to the genders?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Okay, if I say, I’m a five foot five Russian woman. Am I one?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Ew, no gross. I’m not attracted to women.’’ Brock asked, ‘‘Am I one, yes or no?’’
Alyssa looked at Brock like if he was crazy. Brock said, ‘‘It’s a psychological disorder, like anorexia, if someone’s says they’re fat when they’re skinny, that’s a psychological disorder. Yes, we need to have compassion for these people. But, transgender is wrong.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Well.’’ She knew he was right. Crystal ask, ‘‘Can I tell her?’’ Brock asked, ‘‘What?’’ She whispered in Brock’s ear, He said, ‘‘Yeah.’’ Crystal told Alyssa, ‘‘We’re getting married.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Congratulations, when is the wedding?’’
Brock said, ‘‘In two months.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘I’m so happy for you.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘You should come to church.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘I might go sometime.’’ Then Alyssa said, ‘‘I can’t wait for the ‘‘Sex In The City’’ movie. Brock asked, ‘‘You like that stupid show?’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Kinda.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Why do women make a big deal when guys watch adult movies? Yet they watch that show, it’s practically the samething.’’
Alyssa was about defend the show, then Alyssa realize that Brock was right. They realized it was time to go to class, they went to college.
Crystal went to the college administrator, they asked, ‘‘What are you here for ma’am?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I’m quitting.’’ They asked, ‘‘Why are you leaving?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘I’ve been dating one of my students, and we decided to get married. So, I’m going to clean up my class. I’m
going to give the key to my class.’’ She walked out of the office.
Chapter 16 T
he next day, Crystal went to
her class, she was cleaning up all the things that belonged to her. While she was cleaning the class, Alyssa came and said, ‘‘Hey woman.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘Hey.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘I’m going to miss you, woman.’’ Crystal said, ‘‘We could still talk to each other.’’ Alyssa said, ‘‘Yeah, but not at the
campus.’’ There was a moment of silence, Alyssa said, ‘‘I’m happy you found love again.’’ Then Crystal saw four little boys running towards her, saying, ‘‘Mommy, mommy.’’ Hugging her leg. Crystal just smiled. Alyssa asked, ‘‘Who are you smiling at?’’ Crystal said, ‘‘At my sons.’’ Alyssa just stared at Crystal like she was crazy. Then Alyssa left singing, ‘‘Brock and Crystal sitting in tree, k i s s i n g.’’ Crystal smiled and nodded her head. Then she went to the administrator office, and said, ‘‘Here’s my key.’’ She left her key and walked out of the office.
Once again, Brock was looking at photos when he was in high school. He remembered that he and Natalie were talking about marriage after college. He said, ‘‘Well, at least I’m happy.’’ He put the photos away. After three months of secretly dating, Brock and Crystal got married. It was their wedding day, Crystal got ready to get married to Brock. She walked to the altar smiling at Brock, he smiled back. Crystal got to the front of the altar, she mouthed, ‘‘I love you.’’ He mouthed the words back.
After two minutes, the minister asked, ‘‘Do you Brock Jude Sanchez, take Crystal Marie Davis to be you lawful wedded wife?’’ Brock said, ‘‘I do.’’ The minister asked, ‘’‘Do you Crystal Marie Davis, take Brock Jude Sanchez to be your lawfully wedded husband?’’ She said, ‘‘I do.’’ The minister said, ‘‘I pronounce husband and wife, you may now, kiss the bride.’’ He kissed her, she said, ‘‘Yeaah.’’ Then she began to talk gibberish. Like always, Brock laughed.
At the wedding reception, Crystal saw Brock got up on stage. He said, ‘‘I’d to call my wife to stand in the middle of the dance floor.’’ She got up and walked to the middle of the dance floor. Brock began to sing, ‘‘When I first saw you, you took my breath away. You came and healed my broken heart, and made me realize everything’s going to be okay. You taught me to love again, you showed me that it wasn’t the end. My life was only beginning, when I’m around you I can’t stop singing. I want to die with holding your hand in my hand, I’m the most blessed man.
Nothing will separate us, not even the bickering and the fuss. I don’t want think of a day without you, as the days passes by, I’ll show you how much I love you.’’
Then Brock got off the stage, Crystal and Brock had their wedding dance, Brock said, ‘‘You have a nice name. I like your name, that’s my favorite name for a female. Then Crystal looked at him and asked, ‘‘Want to know why I do that everytime you kissed me?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Finally, I am going to find out. After three months.’’ She said, ‘‘I do that because you
make me weak. You’re my kryptonite. Batman marries Powergirl.’’ Then she said, ‘‘DC should make happen. The fans would, FFLLLIIIP.’’ Brock said, ‘‘I married a beautiful geek.’’ He kissed her, she said, ‘‘Yeaah.’’ Then she began to talk gibberish. Brock laughed. They had had four boys.
