1.1.3 Historical background

The origins of startup incubation can be traced back to the 1950s, when the idea was first proposed in a research paper written by American economist Joseph Schumpeter.that certain companies could be nurtured and supported with resources and mentorship to help them grow and ultimately succeed. The first of these incubators was established in Silicon Valley in the late 1970s, and since then, hundreds of incubators have been created around the world. One of the earliest incubators was founded in 1981 by Bill Draper and his sons, Tim and Steve Draper in Silicon Valley. called the Draper Venture Fund .( Artesian 2021 )

This led to the emergence of Y Combinator, a seed accelerator founded in 2005 by Paul Graham in California . Y Combinator provided early-stage startups with funding and mentorship, as well as access to a network of experienced entrepreneurs and investors. It was the real genesis of the modern model for startup accelerators . The success of Y Combinator sparked a wave of startup accelerators, which provide similar resources to early-stage companies. These accelerators have become increasingly popular over recent years . ( Artesian 2021 )

Today, startup incubation is a multi-billion dollar industry that encompasses both accelerators and incubators around the world. These organizations are helping entrepreneurs bring their dreams to life by providing them with access to resources and mentorship that can help them turn their ideas into successful businesses. Although the concept of startup incubation originated in the 1950s with Joseph Schumpeters research paper, it has since evolved into an integral part of the modern business landscape. ( Artesian 2021 )

1.1.4 Vision (What is new in this project)

Vision :

Helping women to reach what they aspire to , with a focus on empowering female social entrepreneurs and a special emphasis on the women single headed households who led micro businesses.

1.1.5 Goals and objectives (What the designer want to do)

Goals :

- Supporting and nurturing local women and girls who are in need and able to work , and empower them economically .

- Highlight the contribution of women in the productive fields such as ; home food products .

- Highlighting women’s professional skills such as ; Drawing skill, handicrafts, food preparation, sewing, embroidery and so on , allowing them to market their products . And motivate others to follow their example .

- reduce women's unemployment locally .

Objectives :

- Providing Busses to facilitate women’s and girls' access to their workplaces .

- " Develop the skills of the women entrepreneurs " by Providing training on using technology , and marketing , then establishing a mechanism to help them market their products in traditional ways and through the Internet .

- Conducting legal education sessions for women and girls on legislation related to them, in particular labor and personal status legislation, income and sales taxes, flexible work and decent work, business licensing procedures and social security law .

- Providing nursery for children in case they are an obstacle to women leaving the house.

- Providing delivery service to far locations for who renting a spaces .

1.1.6 Project organization

1.1.6.1 Location

Location :

Location: Jordan - Irbid - Al-Ramtha - Irbid development area .

The site is located in Al-Ramtha disrict specifically in the " Irbid development area " .

Al-Ramtha is one of the districts of Irbid Governorate, the second largest population in Jordan.The area of Al-Ramtha is about 257 km2 , with a percentage of 16.5 % of the area of the Irbid Governorate. It has The JUST University and King Abdullah University Hospital . Also the important feature that it has the area of Irbid development . (IDA ,Dar al omran 2023)

" Irbid development area " ; which will be a high business development area . It established under a royal directive,on an area of 1,800dunums . It also enjoys attractive investment advantages,especially in a number of sectors . It can provide the main needs of indiviualpower for this sector, in addition to that Irbid includes six universities and colleges in which about 80,000 students study. (IDA ,Dar al omran 2023)

- The site area about 12.5 donum . It close to Shamal Start , Luminous college ,Webhelp , Extensya and Center of Excellence in JUST University

1.1.6.2 Main users

Target group :

- The project will mainly target females women and girls in society (everyone who wants to establish their own project, with the exception of the category of children , regardless of ability, language, race, religion, educational level ) . Other users in the project will be ; Trainers , various employees and Children (nursery) .

1.1.6.3 Main functions and activities

Project Functions : Project will contain 4 main Functions :  Business Training Division.

 Labor Market Involvement

• Business Training Division : In this section , it transformed the ideas and innovations into real economic projects that can be marketed by develops personal , technical and entrepreneurial skills . So women and girls who have business ideas are received , and give them initial lectures on how to think about the project from business side , usually given by a person specializedin entrepreneurship,theneachonemovesto thestageof deeptraining"eachaccording to the sector which her project belongs" such as ; " Food preparing , art of all it's kinds ; ( like makeup and drawings ... ) , knitting , sewing and handicrafts, heritage embroideries ... " , by providing them full support ; It provides appropriate environment for each project , and it contains the necessary tools and equipment (which vary according to the type of project), in addition of expert people , who give lecture on how it works then apply on these equipment at the same time . After that, they move to the another section, which is the Counseling and Marketing Division .

• Start Up Division : In this section, it engage everyone who has a creative idea that helps him get the final product , It provides many business development services, meets the needs of emerging companies by incubating them in different spaces , and provides a set of services that enhance the success rates and growth of new enterprises and help thinking from a more business standpoint , in addition to training them under specail supervisor each in their field .

• Counseling and Marketing Division : In this sector , two parts of women or girls are received , either who were trained in the training department in same incubator, or who already have a business but they developed in a certain stage and it failed . Experienced business coaches who mentor and sharing tips , on raising capital and networking , in order to increase success rates and know who are the customers and how the service delivered to them . Then Addressing the causes of failure and weakness of the project .

- In the same division , there is Marketing Department : That provided by specialists in marketing and media , specialize in made a business model , and know the correct way to market the products . Also it helps in how to promote products and attracts customers .On the other hand , lectures are given on how to use technology through social media to advertise their products in order to speed up the purchasing process and generate money.

•RentSpaces: Inthis section,financialsupportorfundingisprovidedbytheincubator, to women and girls in need , for a specified period of time , then provides an empty spaces , in which they can start their own projects . Even after graduating from incubator and end the period of training and so on , or who come without training that they just need fund and space .

• Labor Market Involvement: This department is about an office or more than one, you give them your CV, and then they directs you to where you want where you should belong or be employed in , and associates you with the labor market so that you can work, or it directs you to our project, either as a trainee or as a trainer if you have the qualifications to do so.
