John the Revelator
played by Michael S. Kelly
This will be Michael’s eighteenth season in the lead character role of a production by Lost Shepherd Productions. He is no stranger to the stage. Growing up as a “Pastor's Kid,” he has been on the stage his entire life. Throughout the years he's performed lead roles in countless skits, plays, productions and spoken word. He has a strong musical background being a worship leader for over twenty years. He has written and co-written several songs including six that are performed in The Lost Shepherd and every song in Stix And Stones. In addition, he traveled several years with an award winning Christian Country Band and a Southern Gospel Quartet.
Director/Lighting Designer
Michael S. Kelly
Michael has over twenty years of experience working as a Dramatic Arts Director, Theatrical Lighting Designer and Sound Engineer, as well as, Television Ministry Director and Editor. Not only does he act in Stix And Stones and The Lost Shepherd, but Michael also designs the lighting and special effects and co-directs both musical productions with his mother, Carlene. His genius creative abilities have refined these original presentations into the spectacular live theatrical productions that they are today. Michael’s ministry has served three churches in Louisiana and Texas. Currently, he is the lead pastor in Winston-Salem at Central Triad Church. Not only does Michael have experience in hosting a television program, but he also has experience in directing and editing for TV broadcasting. Currently he and his wife, Annette, daily hosts “The Good News” on ABC/45—Greensboro, NC, during The Good Morning America show. Michael also designs and installs theatrical lighting, sound systems and video systems for facilities and churches through his company, LightingMinistries.com. Michael met his wife, Annette, while attending McNeese State University in Louisiana and they married in 1994. They have two children, Hannah Mikelle and Corbin Shane.
Assistant Director
Annette Kelly
For eighteen years, Annette has been on the Creative Team for Lost Shepherd Productions. In addition to directing, she oversees the coordination of the make -up artists to keep the cast looking “Broadway” ready. Annette also collaborated in writing several of the original songs performed in The Lost Shepherd and in the Stix And Stones production. She has been on the stage throughout her entire life appearing in her first pageant at only six months old. Annette has held countless pageant titles including a National Rodeo Queen title. In addition, she has over twelve years of formal dance, has been a spokes model and has worked in the dramatic arts for over 20 years. She has served as pastor with her husband in Texas and currently in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. You can see Annette throughout the week co-hosting “The Good News” with her husband on ABC/45—Greensboro, NC.
Dance Director/Choreographer
LaWanda Lash
This is LaWanda’s eleventh season to work with Lost Shepherd Productions. Because of her love for ministry in dance and choreography, Stix And Stones and The Lost Shepherd are enhanced with yet another beautiful layer of storytelling that is translatable in every language. Awarded the Forsyth County Entertainment Award of The 2013 Female Interpretive Dancer of the Year, LaWanda is a seasoned performer with credits including My First Love, House-The Revolution and It’s Not About Us, It’s About Jesus. Featured events include the WinstonSalem State University Coronation, Black College Queens Hall of Fame, Annual Juneteenth Festival of the Triad, Maya Angelou's 80th Birthday Celebration, Atlanta Black Gospel Expo, numerous Women's Conferences and events. LaWanda was consecrated as a Minister of Dance in 2005 and set under the leadership of Every Tribe and Tongue International Christian Dance Fellowship in Dallas, Texas. She is the founder of It's 4 His Glory Ministries, a member of the National Liturgical Dance Network, a member of The Royal Curtain Drama Guild and the chapter Chairperson for the NC Division of the Liturgical Dance Network of New York City.
Writer/Director
Carlene Kelly
Carlene is a teacher, writer and public speaker. She spent over ten years traveling extensively across the US in evangelistic itinerant ministry with her husband, Leroy. They have served as pastors in four churches located in Texas, Louisiana and in Winston-Salem, NC. Her first published work, “Leadership Empowerment,” was developed into a seminar for individuals that desired to be empowered through focused prayer. Just recently, Christian Faith Publishing has re-published the work as “Pray Like A Pro” and it has just been released for distribution. In 1993 through divine inspiration and her love for theatre, Carlene wrote the fictional four-act musical drama, The Lost Shepherd. This past year she, along with her son, Michael, wrote the new production, Stix And Stones. In addition, she has been the writer and cowriter of a number of songs and plays. One of her songs is performed in The Lost Shepherd production, “Living Water” and she co-wrote most of the songs in Stix and Stones. Carlene has a passion for design and is a certified interior decorator. However, she feels her greatest accomplishment is her three adult children, Michael, Shannon and Kendra Dean. Her greatest love is her grandchildren, Hannah Kelly, Corbin Kelly, Jaden Dean and Brooklyn Dean.
Producer
Leroy Kelly
Music has been a part of Leroy’s entire life. Not only does he have a beautiful voice, but he is a natural talent in several instruments. He has directed numerous conference and camp choirs for all ages through the years. He has sung on hundreds of stages covering a variety of events and affairs. For several years, Leroy was the lead singer for a Southern Gospel Quartet that traveled across the U.S. He is known for and has repetitive requests for his vocal renditions of “O, Holy Night,” “The Anchor Holds,” and “Amazing Grace.” However, Leroy’s first love is ministry. He has served in the position of pastor for four churches in Texas, Louisiana and presently in Winston-Salem. He has traveled in evangelistic itinerant ministry extensively within the United States, as well as Pakistan, Kenya Africa, Mexico and the Philippines. He is an avid supporter of his wife’s creative works and his voice takes the productions to a higher level of excellence. Leroy is the founder and president of Kelly New Day Ministries, Inc./Lost Shepherd Productions. Leroy and his wife, Carlene, married in 1969 and have three adult children, Michael, Shannon and Kendra.
Music Production
Thom Buchanan
Thom is a New York native, but has now made his home in High Point, NC, with his wife, Caroline, and their children. Thom started playing the guitar at the age of 12 and has been honored to back-up artists such as Phil Driscoll, Darlene Zschech, Cindy Cruse-Ratcliff, Kent Henry, legendary guitarist Mike Deasy, Georgian Banov, JoAnn McFatter and Roy Fields, to name a few. He is the founder of the bands, SonsUVthundr and the Thom Buchanan Band. In 2013, The Lost Shepherd team was divinely united with Thom to produce a music sound track for its production at his state-of-the-art, full-service music production studio in High Point. It didn’t take long to recognize Thom’s innate ability to reach into the heavenlies and pull out ethereal chord-progressions and melodies, while spontaneously releasing divinely-inspired poetic lyrics. What emerged from the union, was The Lost Shepherd’s first all original music sound track and music cd. With the creation of Stix And Stones, once again his collaboration with Lost Shepherd Productions has produced another all original musical production.
Stage Manager
Natalie McMasters
Natalie joined Lost Shepherd Productions Creative Team eleven seasons ago. Staging sets has been her passion for many years. She started as a teen volunteer at the Little Theatre in WinstonSalem, North Carolina. Her creative skills were put to use in a different and rewarding way while serving in the US Military. As a Combat Medic, she applied make-up to soldier participants in Mass Casualty Simulation Exercises. She is truly a director’s best friend, because she relieves the director from ever having to worry if the set and props will be performance ready.
Costumes/Wardrobe Coordinator
Tracy Marshburn
This is Tracy’s second year to coordinate the Costumes/Wardrobe department for Lost Shepherd Productions. However, this is her eleventh year to work in this department. She and her team of assistants have the cast of Stix And Stones looking as genuine as possible in depicting characters in early Bible times. Whatever the costume requests may be pertaining to each character played, Tracy works to make sure that each actor “looks the part” that she or he may be portraying.

Christian persecution was a dramatic part of early church history. From the creators of The Lost Shepherd, Stix and Stones is a spectacular live theater production where the New Testament Bible comes to Life!
Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; Philippians 1:27

Martyred for Christ
Christianity endured 300 years of hostility and early Christians expected suffering. However, this persecution didn’t diminish the spirit of Christianity, instead it increased the devotion and commitment to Christianity. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 1 Peter 4:16
