In the new edition of Performatik, the performance art biennale, we once again explore the cross-pollination between the worlds of art and the performing arts. Turner Prize winner Martin Creed ventures into the theatre to present us with his view of classical ballet. On the other hand, the French choreographer Boris Charmatz has just quit the theatre for the exhibition space at Argos, where he and a group of performers will activate an exhibition that is in the process of being set up.
In Performatik 2013 the starting point is the encounter between artists. Residences in which artists have time to explore one another’s worlds and together create something new: we are curious to see the performances by Maria Hassabi and Jimmy Robert, and Trajal Harrell and Sara Tze. We are pleased to finally present the marvellous encounter between Meg Stuart, Philipp Gehmacher and Vladimir Miller in Brussels.
