LETTER FROM EDITOR As Jute Magazine is going through a heavy transition period, I can't help but let Volume XII be dear to my heart. It's amazing to see how far Jute has come in 12 issues, and this has to be our best one thus far. Our group of contributors for Volume XII is stellar, and our cover by Yuji Watanabe is mind-blowing. This issue is page after of page of fashion art. Volume XII was intended to be an open issue, but I love how the body of work presented in this volume represents an end of Summer and beginning of Fall feeling. There are lots of transition pieces, clever uses of Summer attire for Fall, and fabulous inspiration at the perfect time. Fashion Week is quickly approaching, and we can all use inspiration on wardrobe for FW. As you browse through this issue, take notice of the fabulous designers gracing the pages of Volume XII. Anne-Sophie Kohler of A-Line London is our featured designer for Volume XII. Her designs are so sleek and chic. Every girl needs one of her designs in her wardrobe. Starting on page 26, you'll find the designs of Giuseppe Virgone. His SS15 collection is mind-blowing, with a series of menswear that is both futuristic and classic at the same time. If you skip to page 124, you'll find the French couture of On Aura Tout Vu. These meticulously designed garments have graced features for Vogue Italia and Elle, just to name a few. Finally, our last editorial by Jarek Kasprowiak featured the work of designer Dominika Purchala. The series takes you to a fantastical futuristic world, almost post-apocalyptic. Personally, I'm praying that a sci-fi film will someday take note of her talents and we can all see her work on the big screen. As if those aren't enough, this issue features a range of buzz name designs like Chanel, to independent designers like Jenny Lee Maas (pg. 94), Erica Funk of Hyper Haute (pg. 174), Patrick Ian Hartley (pg. 36) FEDTND (pg. 156), Nolan Kouri (pg. 62), Katerina Musetti (pg. 118), and Vanika (pg. 132) on their way to greatness, and even some favorite brands from Target showing that fashionistas can be fabulous at all price points. I'm in love!

Interview with Anne-Sophie Kohler www.a-linelondon.com Where did you get your start in fashion? I guess as a young teenager when I amended just about any piece of clothing in my cupboard. I then took a lot of sewing, drawing and technical classes. Did you always know you wanted to be a designer? I always liked ‘creating’ things. I find it very satisfying. Fashion is an ever changing industry and I find it very exciting and inspiring to be part of it. How would you describe your brand? A-Line is a contemporary women's wear brand distinguished by sleek, innovative tailoring and quality, natural fabrics. The design concept: merging relaxed, urban style with feminine elegance. I aim to create collections that befit the lifestyle of a modern woman. If you could describe the Spring/Summer '14 collection in three words, what would they be? Textured, cropped, and elegant. How does England influence your designs? London is a big source of inspiration- I love the various cultures and its sense of fashion. I find it a very liberal city to dress; no one judges you. Being based in Shoreditch, I love the diverse and cutting edge talents and I regularly partner with local photographers, models, and creatives. If you could choose any model or celebrity to be the face of your line, who would it be? I believe in strong independent women and a celebrity is always a role model to many people. I would like to dress women like Emily Blunt, Diane Krueger, Olivia Wilde, Frida Pinto or Emma Watson. Where do you draw inspiration for your designs? This would be London and especially Shoreditch as described above.

Where are you from originally and where do you currently reside? I have a French mother and a German father. I feel very blessed growing up with two cultures- I take a lot of inspiration from it. I now live in London, which was never planned, but I couldn’t imagine a better place.

What is next for your line? That is the thing- I never know what is next and I am loving it! Every day is different. The only plan I have is to focus more on leathers, exploring the possibilities and adding more lines. As I am producing locally I can be very flexible here.
