This is double-weave tube with cotton warp and paper weft, changing fabric width while weaving results in an interesting form.

Railreed modules have 7 slots. The maximum width of the module is 7cm (2.75”) and minimum 3.5cm (1.37”). The thickness of the teeth is 2mm (o.o7”), so the RailReed is not the tool for very precise works. But still very delicate thin fabrics can be woven.
RailReed basic consists of 5 modules
Blocks A are put in the beater where you usually would put your reed Bolts C are pushed through the holes in the sideblocks (B) and then through the holes in A. There are three holes in block A.

Use the corresponding hole to set RailReed in the right position for the shed to form.

Fasten the nuts such that, that the sideboards of the RailReed are securely pushed against the beater.
