Hi-YA, Gahr Key Club! Happy July, Ninjas! I can’t believe 3 months have passed so quickly. Although we’re in quarantine, it feels like we as a club has bonded extremely well. From the Father’s Day Card Making Zoom Call event, to the interclub Bondfire, I’ve never felt so much closer to Gahr Key Club than now! I’d like to start off by saying thank you to everyone who has participated in our past events in the month of June and powering through while we are still in quarantine. Thanks to your activeness, we were able to achieve June’s monthly goal of 50 hours! Not only that, but because of your hard work, we are 81.75 hours closer to our term goal of 1,300 hours! Want to learn new ways to earn service hours throughout the month of July? Visit our linktree and find the “What Service Projects are For Me?” quiz. This google form will ask questions which will answer your needs to find what other kinds of service you can do in quarantine. Our board is so eager to present this quiz to our members so I hope you use it to your advantage. July will be an awesome month for those who love service. Starting off, if you have signed up for the Bellflower Kiwanis Stand, you are obligated to work your shift on the date and time you have signed up for

from July 1-4. From July 10-12, we will be having our Cards for COVID event and on July 15th, we will have our Recipes for Hunger event! Stay updated by following our Instagram @gahrkeyclub. Aside from events outside our home club, there will be many events throughout July including summer leadership conference. If you have signed up for summer leadership conference, our board hopes for you to enjoy your time and that you learn a lot about Key Club while attending. Feeling lonely during quarantine? Sign up for D13S x D30S Pen Pals! Make a new friend and get to know other members of key club outside of our division. Sign up at bit.ly/penpalsd30sxd13s. We hope you find company! Thank you for reading my message! You have many opportunities during July and I hope you take hold of them and take advantage. Work hard this month ninjas! See you in August!

Hi-YA, Gahr Key Club! Can you believe THREE months of the term is already over? At the end of every month, going through pictures and reviewing hours have never failed to make me SO proud. Each and every one of you have worked so hard to surpass our goals and come to events! I am so proud of all of you for staying so motivated and truly putting in so much effort, you guys have truly made the start of our term one so memorable! To all my blossoming new members, I’m so thankful for you guys for working so hard, even without experiencing key club in person! From asking me so many amazing questions, turning in service projects, and coming to events, the amount of dedication you guys all have makes me so incredibly happy! I cannot wait to see all of you and bond with you in person, your journey is JUST getting started! As summer has just begun, I really encourage you guys to keep in touch, stay updated, check the account, ask us questions, and anything else to engage yourself in what’s going on in Key Club! I want all of you to be prepared for the

beginning of the school year and enjoy as many events and projects as you can right now! It’s truly been a bumpy road with quarantine, but let’s all make the best of it! After our virtual events, I’ve felt closer to every member after bonding with you guys whether you’re talking to me through zoom, chatting, or even DMing with me! For the month of July, I hope you guys can continue to being amazing and help reach our goals of 100 hours and 10 dcm attendees. Since the start of the term, we’ve been surpassing all of our service goals, can we keep up the streak? Continue serving our community with several service opportunities throughout the month and I hope to continue bonding with you guys in events! Please stay safe, take care of yourself, enjoy your summer, and continue BEE-ing an amazing club, I’m so proud of you guys! Until next month!

Kickin’ for service,

Gahr Key Club President

During the month of JUNE Gahr Key Club has participated in many events! Our members did an amazing job at staying active with events such as: senior appreciation, dog toy making, service week, and Father’s day card making. We also had a ground bending experience at the Division’s Avatar DCM. Another noteworthy event would be our joint club Bonfire social with Bellflower and Mayfair! We all had lots of fun bonding with each other! Lastly, our board and club members learned a lot from OTC. The month of July is packed with so many fun events! Our Koala Ninja service week is a great way to keep active and earn more service hours. Not only that but our Koala Ninja social event is a great way to make new friends. Make sure to mark your calendars for our general meeting to keep up with our monthly goals and general club info. Another great way to earn service hours is making cards for isolated Covid patients and creating recipes to fight hunger! Also have tons of fun with our sleepover social and stay updated with July DCM.

Ayen Pasqua Treasurer On June 7th, there was a dog toy making service event. This event let members of our division bond with other members as well as helping their community. it was a really simple service event and a very calming way to spend a day in quarantine. The service event was held on zoom so it kept other

members motivated to continue by seeing everyone else create their dog toys These dog toys will be donated to local animal shelters and bring happiness to them. By having this event, it was a great time for the division to bond through quarantine.

Samantha Villa Vice President Participating in the third division service week was truly so much fun! The week was filled with so many heartwarming service events. However, my favorite event within the service week would have to be Therapy Thursday. I never heard of 7cups.com, but I’m glad Key Club introduced me to something new. My entire experience on 7cups.com was very simple yet rewarding. Helping the individuals that were going through a rough patch not only helped them, but it helped me as well. It showed me the importance of helping out the community which I loved. Overall, the division service week was so much fun! It reminded me of the importance of giving back to the community which made it one of my favorite division service weeks thus far.

Iris Ji Webmaster The Fathers Day Zoom call was very exciting and enjoyable. At first I was concerned that not a lot of people were going to come out and join us in making Fathers Day cards but quite a few actually came. I was tasked with teaching everyone how to make a shirt and tie card. Although this was a card I was taught how to make in elementary school it proved difficult for some of the key clubbers to follow along with... I didn’t even realize that the zoom call lasted 2 hours I was enjoying the company of others, laughing at Julia for not being able to make the tie card, and pretending to be crafty by making all sorts of cards. I gave all the cards I made to my dad the next day and let me say, he was very impressed. It was a great way to bond with our club and make some last minute cards for our fatherly figures!

Having all the positions in key club filled and set for the term is so good! after DCM was over being able to wind down and just relax while watching avatar was so nice, i think just finishing off the dcm that way was great!

Angelika Lopez Member By participating in the video for the senior appreciation event, child patients. While coloring we talked about a variety of discussion topics and really got to meet and befriend members. Afterwards, we played Scattergories and a Kahoot. I really enjoyed this event because I felt it was a great opportunity for members and myself to connect with others while doing service.

it overall reflected acknowledging the seniors for all that they have done in their high school years as well as being a part of key club. This opportunity let me be able to connect with the seniors through the community of the gahr key club itself and stood out to be a great way to show appreciation and positivity towards the seniors in regards to showing support in what they do in the future.
