Small space redesigning
I have been inspired by the natural spiral shapes in seashells to design a compact house that would be in the same design as the spiral in a shell. Each pod would have a different purpose for the house. The design of the house would be able to blend into the surrounding area perfectly because its very minimalis=c
For my first model I have used paper and twisted it to create the abstract sea shell shape that could be turned into a house with different levels . This structure would be narrow and be able to fit into a small space but s=ll provide everything a home needs and has to have
Different viewpoints show off the poten=al interior space and how its divided into 3 sec=ons that could be used for different func=ons . The basic spiral shape inside could be the main feature of the whole structure making it even more unique
Having the spiral structure on its side would enable for the building to have more space inside and also extend into the surrounding area as a garden. This would also allow for the building to feel much more spacious and open with more windows than closed up spaces, this would make the building appear even bigger
This model illustrates what the inside of the structure might look like if it was based on a shape of a shell. This is an abstract representa=on of the poten=al space, however this is a good indica=on of the poten=al space within the small structure.
I have used large leafs to show how the same structure as in model one would look like if it had walls and different parts to it. I think that this gives a very good indica=on to how the space would work if it was posi=oned in a different way in the same space. I also think that having the structure more spread out gives it more spaces and it doesn't’t seem very enclosed.
This model illustrates how different but s=ll curved building structure could produce a different final outcome aIer enclosing areas that could become rooms or other spaces. The curved skeleton of the building if leI on show would be a great feature to a minimalis=c and clean line building. That is a simplified image of the poten=al spaces within the structure
Different perspec=ve photograph showing how the building would look from ground level. The main focus point is the skeleton structure. This building would blend in perfectly as the curving walls would reflect light and make it easier to disappear into the background making it less no=ceable
These two view point provide an idea how the space works inside and also show that there could be different colour elements that contrast to bring more life into the structure and to sec=on off different areas with the use of colour.
