Trusting God! Throughout the Bible we are exhorted again and again to trust in the Lord. We are warned against trusting in princes, in riches, or in ourselves; for all such trust is vain. Trusting in the Lord is represented as being safe, as blessed, and as producing very desirable results. In it is our hope, our strength, our safety, and our help.
But what does trust mean? It does not mean carelessness or indifference.
Just to let things go and say, "Oh, I guess it will come out all right," is not trusting. Just drifting heedlessly with the tide is not trust. Neglect is not trust. Trust is something positive. It is a real something, not a mere happen-so or maybe-so. It is a definite attitude of soul and mind, a realization of our own need and of God's sufficiency.
It is the reaching out and anchoring of ourselves in God. Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Psalm 62:8 Each day is a gift. Part of that gift is knowing God has the best interest at heart for us and we can trust him. I believe it works both ways with God and us. When I take time to reflect over my life and how God has impacted my life, it breathes faith in God to take care of me.
Can you trust God today? God is worthy of our trust! Trusting God with you! PB and Kathy When we get that unknown phone call and we answer like, “Hello . . . who is this?”. When we don’t know who we are talking to, we don’t know what conversation we are going to have. Sometimes, we answer with a tone like, “who are you trying to get a hold of?”, “why did you call?”, “what do you want?”, “how did you get this number?” and so many other questions. We don’t like to be surprised, be out of the know or not having a clear understanding of what’s happening or what’s going to happen. What if I told you that, this is deeper than a random phone call that we react in this way? We have or will wonder,
“What On Earth Am I Here For?”. That question can be as frustrating, misunderstood, surprising, catch you off guard like a random phone call. Especially if we declare that God is calling you. He might seem like a random caller. Jesus says in John 15:16 , “16 You did not choose Me, but I CHOSE YOU and APPOINTED YOU that YOU SHOULD GO AND BEAR FRUIT, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever YOU ASK the Father in My name HE MAY GIVE YOU.” God is calling you so you can know that, you are to be loved, belong, become and be blessed! We’re going to explore all of this in our next series,
What On Earth Am I Here For? Leave a message after the beep . . . Tony Mejia

Since 2006 STEP 5 INTEGRITY We admit to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. James 5:16 As we struggle with our addiction we are likely to avoid honest communication with others about our problems. It is important, however, that we return to the relationships that will help us face the truth. Ephesians 4:25 “So put away all falsehood and tell your neighbor the truth, because we belong to each other.” NLT Accountability and honesty in our relationships are essential to successful recovery. When we make ourselves accountable to others the caring influence of godly friends can help keep us on the right track. They can provide us with an objective perspective, helping us to admit the truth. We often become isolated as a result of our shame or fear that we will be rejected if we even reveal who we really are. Admitting our wrongs to trustworthy people helps break down the isolation. Jesus even gave specific instructions for dealing with people who have done wrong but persist in denying it. “If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the fault. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back. But if you are unsuccessful, take one or two others with you and go back again, so that everything you say may be confirmed by two or three witnesses. If that person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. If the church decides you are right, but the other person won’t accept it, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector.” Matthew 18: 15-17 NLT In Step Five we set out to stop this internal struggle and admit that wrong is wrong. It is time to be honest with God and ourselves about our cover-ups and exact nature of our wrongs. We need to admit the sins we have committed and the pain we have caused others. We may have spent years constructing alibis, coming up with excuses, and trying to plea-bargain. It is time to come clean. It is time to admit what we know deep down inside to be true. “Yes, I’m guilty as charged. There is no real freedom without confession. What a relief it is to finally give up the weight of our lies and excuses. When we confess our sins, we will find the internal peace we lost so long ago. We will also be one step closer to recovery.
