He is Risen! In April, we celebrate the single most significant event in the history of the world – the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Yes, His birth was miraculous. His death was monumental. But without His resurrection both would have been meaningless. In fact, without the resurrection, the crucifixion was just an execution! If you think I am being irreverent, consider the words of Paul the Apostle in I Corinthians 15:14 “And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.”He then doubles down on this position in verses 17-19
“And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.” This is incredibly strong and clear language. Everything hinges on the resurrection. It was God’s supernatural vindication and validation of what Jesus did for us. It means that He is who He claimed to be. It means that God accepted his substitutionary sacrifice on our behalf. It means that He was ultimately victorious over death, hell and the grave. As we go into April, let’s celebrate the greatest gift of all: Life! Spring is here and is the beginning of new things…may the freshness of God’s love go before us in this next season of ministry! Invite friends to our Easter Services and let’s celebrate Life! Know that you are in my prayers! PB and Kathy
When I was a young, I had some high hopes! I wanted to be a lawyer to make money. I wanted to be a police officer like my dad . . . found out that when my dad said that he was buying a gun, he meant a caulking gun and he wasn’t an officer. Why did I assume a police officer anyways? I wanted lots of kids and lots of stuff and lots of this and lots of that. I got my hopes up. The cards of life we’re dealt a bit differently than I hoped for. But there was someone, who knew me, had the right plans for me and could make it all possible. (Proverbs 23:18/Proverbs 19:21) Ephesians 1:11-12 (Message) says, “It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, He had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose He is working out in everything and everyone.”
Jesus is the man! Where I thought I could control and would eventually fall apart, He already had a plan (Psalm 32:8). A plan that is beyond my wildest dreams (1 Chronicles 17). Designed specifically for me (Jeremiah 1:5). He is working out all the details for me to live life to the fullest (Ephesians 3:20)! All of this applies to you too, Tony Mejia
We are glad you are here, and we trust that feel at HOME. It is our hope and prayer that you cel-

Paradise Kids Team Welcome Care Givers! Feel free to sign your child in at any time during the service. Some care givers would like their child to stay with them for the music or until they (the child that is) gets restless. Once you have signed them in, you can pick them up at the end of the service
Baby Dedication When a parent and care givers make the decision to “dedicate” their child, they are making a statement of their faith. They are physically stating that they want to raise their child to know God and to be known by Him. That they will show their child the ways of God by their own life’s example.
The LORD is our God. The LORD is the only God. 5 You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 6 Always remember these commands that I give you today.7 Be sure to teach them to your children. Talk about these commands when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road. Deuteronomy 6:4-7

Since 2006 The spiritual principle of Step six is Willingness.
We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character. “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” (Js 4:10) Step (6) is all about discovering hope. When we are upset, we often depend upon our addiction to make us feel better. As we get rid of our addiction, we face the deeper character defects that God wants to heal. Our addiction functions as a place of “shelter” from our pain. But when that “shelter” is removed, deep anger may surface, exposing even deeper character flaws that need healing. Jonah had a glaring defect of character: he couldn’t forgive and have compassion on the people of Nineveh, whom he hated. When God decided not to destroy them, Jonah threw a temper tantrum. “The Lord replied, Is it right for you to be angry about this? Then Jonah went out to the east side of the city… And the Lord God arranged for a leafy plant to grow there, and soon it spread its broad leaves over Jonah’s head, shading him from the sun. The next morning ..the plant soon died and withered away. And as the sun grew hot, God sent a scorching east wind to blow on Jonah. The sun beat down on his head until he grew faint and wished to die.” God did this to show Jonah that the real problem wasn’t the loss of his shelter. Hatred was the real problem. The removal of our sheltering addiction may expose deep problems. This may spark defensive anger as God touches our deepest hurts. It is all right to let the anger out. But it is also important to let God take care of the real problem. Jonah 4: 4-8. NLT How can we honestly say that we are entirely ready for God to remove our defects of character? If we think in terms of all or nothing, we may get stuck here because we will never feel entirely ready. It is important to keep in mind that the twelve steps are guiding ideals. No one can work them perfectly. Our part is to keep moving, to get as close as we can to being ready. Most of us have made numerous attempts at selfimprovement. Perhaps we have consciously tried to improve our attitude, our education, our appearance, or our habits. We may have had success in self-improvement on some level. However, when it comes to our struggles with defects of character, chances are we have experienced only deep frustration. There is a reason for our frustration. These character defects can only be removed, never improved. The illustration given us in the bible is that our sins and defect of character must be put to death, as Jesus was, with the hope of new life to follow. Pot Luck
