Spring….
Spring is nature’s way of saying, “Let’s party!” -Robin Williams Today at 5:18 a.m., I was riding through our great city on my bike. It was quieter than normal, fresh at 14.4 degrees and filled with the beauty of new beginnings. The day was just starting to break, I could see rabbits running across the path to get out of my way (good thing) and God was so close to my heart. Spring is such a beautiful time of the year. It reminds me of this great passage 22 The LORD’S loving kindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. Lam 3 The compassion of God is unending. I can see it each year as winter gives way to Spring. An opportunity for new beginnings and great opportunities. In holding my new grandson Hudson, I was reminded again of God’s faithfulness to us in the beginning of new life. Today look around, enjoy the blessing of God before you and you too may find yourself running from rabbits at 5:18 a.m. Contrary to popular opinion, 5:18 does come twice a day. PB and Kathy To all the mothers out there, we might have not played fair, or listen to you when you asked us to do our hair, but now we see your prayer, how God is working everywhere. I just start thinking about all you mothers out there. How much you give. How much you don’t get. How much we couldn’t without you. How much we see, a lot later in life. My parents always said to me, “One day, you’ll know what it’s like.” I believe, I do know now and I also believe that I still don’t know the full impact that you mothers make. Isaiah 66:13 (CSB) “13 As a mother comforts her son, so I will comfort you . . .” God, through the prophet, Isaiah, wants us to see Him in such a deep and relatable way. A mother comforting her son. My mom comforted me and she didn’t mind the snort, the tears and the lame reason why. She was there and today, I can believe God is there. Mothers thank you for your comfort. Grandmothers, mine prayed for me dearly. She was a praying woman, who always told me from another part of the world, “I love you and I’m praying for you, many blessing.” How did her prayers translate? I’m believing they did. I’m believing I’m a byproduct of her many prayers. Mothers thank you for praying. To all you mothers out there, thanks for not quitting on us, being with us, praying for us and believing in us. We might have odd ways of saying it, but we love you. Tony Mejia

Since 2006 Step 7: HUMILITY We humbly ask Him to remove our shortcomings. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1John 1:9) Step (7) is about walking in humility. After examining our life closely (as we did in Steps Four, Five, and Six,) we may feel cut off from God. Considering the scope of what we have done, we may feel unworthy to ask God for anything. Maybe our sinful behaviors are despised as the lowest kind of evil by those whom we consider respectable. We may struggle with self-hatred. Our genuine remorse may cause us to wonder if we even dare approach God to ask for his help. God welcomes us, even when we feel this way, Jesus told this story: Two men went to the temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a dishonest tax collector. The proud Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer: I thank you, God, that I am not a sinner like everyone else, especially like that tax collector over there! For I never cheat, I don’t sin, I don’t commit adultery, I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’ But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner. ‘ I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned justified before God. For the proud will be humbled, but the humble will be honored” (Luke 18: 10-14) NLT. When we put our life in God’s hands, he will reshape us as he sees fit. It is our humility that allows us to accept the fact that he is the Creator. Our new life may be similar to the one we left behind or entirely different. God is the master craftsman. Whatever he does, we can trust that he will recreate our life beautifully, one we get out of his way! Pot Luck
