Just a little bit more….A well-known Billionaire was asked the question: How much money do you need to survive? His answer: Just a little bit more. In our faith, that isn’t the case. I heard a great devotional on Psalm 23:1-3 that explained a few things about this passage. In the desert are lots of goats and sheep. Grass was not very evident but only appeared from periodic rain and the moisture from the sky creating humidity on the rocks that produced the green pastures. The sheep depended on these tuffs of grass. Usually there was only just enough to get by. My vision was that green pastures were acres and acres of grass. I was wrong: Just enough for God to provide for the moment or the day. Friends, it is the same in our lives. God doesn’t provide for our wants but only what we need. It is a lie to believe God wants you to have the largest house, three cars and a Winnebago to be happy. God provides enough to get us through and we learn to depend on him each and every day. Today, you may be looking to God for a financial miracle, you may discover the miracle might be simply good stewardship. I have found that when I live within my means, life is much happier because I find joy in the way God provides. God has a way of providing when we are good with the way we handle our finances and what we may already have. As May breaks forth into Summer, enjoy the blessing of God’s rebirth of things to come as Spring can only produce. It is a wonder to me, how God provides at the right time, season and place for our needs. Please continue to pray for our Wonder-Years day care, that God would provide what we need J
Standing with you in prayer, PB and Kathy Guess if it was my mom or dad who said this to me, "go get bloody and dirty"? When I was growing up, I was encouraged to explore and learn fearlessly. Because of this, I had this nose-for-the-net attitude in how I played sports which made me a leader by example. Because of that, I wasn't afraid to try new approaches to old ways of doing things which made me creative. Because of the encouragement of my mom to "go get bloody and dirty", I learned a lot of lessons and encourage others with those stories. It gets messy/bloody, you get hurt, you feel the rush but when you remember that the person who loves you says that it can be done then you believe it can be done! There's this moment, in the Bible, where someone was dealing with hardship and others were discouraging about it and Jesus said to the person, "Don't be afraid, just believe". (Mark 5:36) God used my mom to form me into someone who chooses not to fear, though it's struggle, and believe that the moment is a chance to defy the odds. Thankful for a mom and God that encourages fearlessness and believing in the impossible! Getting bloody and dirty, Tony Mejia

Since 2003
STEP 9: SELF DISCIPLINE We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. Some of us become so focused on our personal failures in recovery that we don’t deal with the pain we have suffered at the hands of others. Some of us, on the other hand, focus too much on the ways we have been mistreated and use these as excuses for our behavior. Either approach to past abuse leaves us with emotional baggage that will hinder our progress in recovery. Forgiving others is an important part of turning our will over to God. Jesus taught his disciples:
“Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may Your name be honored. May Your kingdom come soon. May Your will be done here on earth, just as it is in heaven. Give us our food for today, and forgive those who have sinned against us. And don’t let us yield to temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. If you forgive those who sin against you, Your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, Your Father will not forgive your sins.” (Matthew 6: 9-15).
Being forgiven for the wrongs we have done to others does not excuse us from our actions or make our actions right. When we forgive others of the wrongs they have committed against us, we do not excuse what they have done. We simply recognize that we have been hurt unjustly and turn the matter over to God. This helps us face the truth about our own pain. It also rids us of any excuse to continue our compulsive behavior because of what has been done to us. Begin the process of experiencing freedom from the hurts, habits and hang-ups from your past
