Daddy is home….One of my favorite memories of the kids being small, was coming home after working all night at the grocery story to….Daddy is home…Teletha running down the paved driveway with a big smile to my arms. Even thinking about it brings a smile to my face as I am typing this. I think this is a great depiction of how God responds to us when we spend time with him. Each time we pray, walk with him, read the scripture or sit in silence, our Father is there with us. Do you know how proud he is of you today? He looks upon you with great pride and says, “there he/she is, my son/daughter in whom I love and so well pleased!” You don’t have to earn it, you don’t have to strive for it, his love is freely given to all who will receive it. Today like Jesus, we can be assured of these words that were spoken to Christ after baptism and is now spoken to you….

And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with You I am well pleased.” Luke 3:22 Upon reflection, the words well pleased actually mean, satisfied. God was satisfied with Jesus, the sense of knowing God’s love helps us to know God is satisfied with us. As I watch Tony and my Son Jamie hold there sons, I am reminded again of God’s incredible love for us… remember God loves us the same! Basking in the love of God, PB and Kathy

When Manny is all worked up, he lets you know. He looks like a wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tubeman. It usually only happens when he is hungry/hangry. Even if the bottle is there or it’s only been seconds, he is caught up in the moment that he gets doubly frustrated even though his answer is right there. When they need him to be calmed, they get me, the father. I’m his calming force. Father God is that for us too. “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” (Luke 5:16) Jesus went to the Father to continue to align Himself with God’s will. (Matthew 6:9-13) To go back to that calming force. Jesus was 100% God and 100% human (Colossians 2:9). He had lots of pressures and attacks throughout His time of ministry. He went to the Father and taught us how to pray, how we can go to the Father, how the Father can be a calming force for us in our times of need. We get a glimpse of Jesus, just before His humiliation and death, where He cries out to the Father while being sorrowful, troubled and grieved in Matthew 26:37-39. We see that Jesus wasn’t afraid to go the Father because He know that the Father knew best. The Father would be His calming force. “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done.” (Matthew 26:42) Jesus trust the Father and knew the precedence of God’s will. Going to the Father helped Jesus gather Himself and went on to make us more than conquerors (Rom 8:31-39). Luke 12:32 (MSG) “29-32 “What I’m trying to do here is get you to relax, not be so preoccupied with getting so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way He works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how He works. Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Don’t be afraid of missing out. You’re my dearest friends! The Father wants to give you the very kingdom itself.” Whenever Manny needs to be calmed, they call me, his father. If you need to be calmed, call Father God. It sounds simple because it is. It’s simply being rocked in His arms, reminding us that everything is alright because Father God, Abba is here with you. Fathering, Tony Mejia

Since 2006 CR S T E P E I G HT : Brotherly and Sisterly Love We made a list of all persons we have harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.

Loneliness & isolation go along with the guilt & shame we feel about who we are or what we have done. We may feel lonely even when we are around other people. Guilt, fear of being hurt and self-hatred can make us unable to believe in the love others have for us. We can feel all alone in the struggle even when there are people beside us who want to help. Being willing to accept their love is part of the preparation for making amends. Loneliness can break us and defeat us in the recovery process. When we prepare to make amends, we also need to prepare our heart to accept whatever love, support, or friendship is offered in return. These supportive relationships, along with God’s supporting hand, will strength our life considerably. With our friends and God joining with us to form a triple braided cord, we will not be easily broken or turned from the path to recovery. In the young Corinthian church, a man was cut off from church fellowship when his sins were made public. After he turned around and tried to make amends, some people refused to welcome him back into the church. The apostle Paul told the believers: “The man who caused all the trouble was punished enough when most of you were united in your judgment against him, otherwise, he may become so discouraged that he won’t be able to recover. Now show him that you still love him.” (2 Corinthians 2: 5-8) There will be some people who will respond with forgiveness, comfort, acceptance, and love. This will help us overcome the grief, the bitterness, and the discouragement we may feel. Their forgiveness will help us move on with recovery. Come and join us to begin the process of experiencing freedom from the hurts, habits and hang-ups from your past. Pot Luck
