Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for. Hebrews 11:1-2 I have lived my whole life by faith. In hearing people of our church, I believe there are many that can say the same. Many of us have experienced answers to prayer, God moments where we experience the provision and protection of God and still others who have seen the handy work of God in something we do. Well, over the month of July, we are going to hear of some great faith stories. Then in August, we are going to share of this great subject. It is my prayer, that we grow in our faith over the summer, so when we come to Meet Your Neighbor Sunday, we will be a faith filled church that will love on our neighbors. On another note, I like the second verse of Hebrews 11:2‌ the ancients were commended for their faith. When I read that, I was thinking to myself, I wonder what my children and grandchildren will remember me for when I die? Will it be I ate too much? Maybe I pushed them too hard? Perhaps it will be showing up to special occasions? Perhaps there will be some special impression I made on them? Well to be honest, I hope they will remember me for the faith I lived, demonstrated and walked. Nothing else really matters in this world my friends, it is our faith that we hope our children and legacy will want to follow. I often told my children growing up, I don’t care about how much money you make or career you follow, I only hope that you will walk with Christ all the days of their lives. I want to be commended, acclaimed, applauded, and remember for my faith. How about you? Staying connect, PB and Kathy

I've done some bad stuff. Stuff that doesn't matter and stuff that others have witnessed and remember. I could be marked by that stuff, I could be accused of that stuff, I could be reminded of that stuff but Jesus says no, He paid for it. Jesus calls me a newly adopted child of God. I had a ego the size of the room. An ego that chose myself over people. An ego that chose doing good to look good. An ego to live impressive at any cost but Jesus said no, He has another way. Jesus calls me to live in Him. Anything that could be used against me in front of God, Jesus paid. He gave me a way out and a new way to live. Galatians 2:20, "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." If you know Jesus, you have a faith story to tell. How He sent us free, is working on us and how we live by faith in Jesus. Faith stories: celebrating Jesus in our lives! Living by faith, Tony Mejia

Since 2003

CR Step (11) Ever Presence of God We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and power to carry that out. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.” (Colossians 3:16) Most of us turn to God for the help he can give us, namely, his power to free us from the power of our dependency. We may be surprised to find that, as time passes, we turn to God out of a desire to be near him. As we discover how wonderful he is and how much he loves us, we draw near to him because of the joy we experience in his presence. Most of us need to desire something before we will wholeheartedly seek after it. Until we realize how much God loves us and cares about the details of our life, we probably won’t have the desire to pray to him. The life of King David should give us hope. After he had come face to face with his own sinfulness, he was able to sing, “What mighty praise, O God, belongs to you in Zion. We will fulfill our vows to you, for you answer our prayers, and to you all people will come. Though our hearts are filled with sins, you forgive them all. What joy for those you choose to bring near, those who live in your courts. What joy await us inside your holy Temple” (Psalm 65: 1-4) God wants us to be like those who lived and served in his Temple, walking freely into his presence. He wants us to know that we are welcome and valued before him. God is always present with us and can be a source of joy and happiness for us now. We can look forward to spending time with him and living in his presence every day. Sometimes we don’t want to know God’s will because there are areas in our life that we aren’t ready to deal with yet. Recovery is a process for us. We may be ready to pray for God’s will in some areas but feel uncomfortable having God’s light shine into the areas that are still hidden in shame. Darkness is great when we are trying to hide something, but light is needed when we are trying to walk without falling. When we were hiding our shameful behavior and holding on to our addiction, the darkness seemed like our friend. Now that we are trying to walk toward recovery, we need the light to keep us from stumbling. We don’t have to be afraid of God’s light anymore since we have his forgiveness through Christ. He wants to safely guide us on the right path.
