Summer thought…. “God is more interested in who you are becoming than in what you are doing.” I read on a social media page that we are quickly entering the mid part of this year. Long back are the cold days of winter, the New Year’s resolutions and it seems to me that time continues to go faster and faster. But one thing remains the same, God’s amazing grace. Aren’t you glad that God never gives up on us but takes a vested interest in us and what we do is secondary? I love the verses found in Paul writing to the Corinth church that was divided and struggling a great deal…. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 “It is not about the destination but the journey”-Star Trek Friends, each day that we wake up, God introduces us to a brand new adventure. Too often we allow the things in life to crowd out the love and care of God. Verses like this one, gives us hope that God is always at work, he cares to see us become new and it is all about the love of God in our lives. So today, as we mark another summer, my encouragement to you, take a moment, take a deep breath and ponder, what is one thing God would love to do in me this summer that when I look back I can then see the grace of God at work. I learned a long time ago that God is more concerned for my heart and not my hands. May God bless all your hearts as you walk with him today! Happy Summer PB and Kathy Bethany, Manny and I would like to thank you all of you for your love, support and prayers! Honestly, without God holding us up, I really don’t know how we would have gone through the time in the hospital. It was rough although every day, we saw the blessings of God. If it was a meal, nurses that cared for us, our dedicated doctors, the best results, free TV to distract us, Manny growing, a medical system that paid for everything, the goals met, peace while waiting, Star Wars visitors, having each other, care packages, our neighbourhood rallying behind us, our freezer filled with home cooked meals, gifts upon gifts upon gifts, procedures going smoothly, procedures failing so we could have the right one done, time in a private room, Christian neighbours when we shared a room, moments of laughter, befriending the cleaning team, seeing others beyond our circumstances, and so much more. God is good and each day, He provided something for us to hold tight to while telling us that everything was alright. That’s our God. I remember when the doctor initially said 3 weeks but God said 2! That’s our God! May this be an encouragement/reminder to you, Philippians 4:19 (CSB) “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” We’d like to publicly thank the board for taking care of our family throughout those weeks. We are forever grateful for all the stress lifted and all the time that I personally got to spend with my wife and Manny. It was such a blessing! We serve such an amazing church! We knew that before Manny and we know it forevermore. We are so appreciative, The Mejias

Welcome Care Givers! Feel free to sign your child in at any time during the service. Some care givers would like their child to stay with them for the music or until they (the child that is) gets restless. Once you have signed them in, you can pick them up at the end of the service Did you KNOW: There is a rocking chair in the nursery so you can feed your baby comfortably? Your baby/toddler will have a safe environment to learn about God and His creation. Our volunteers look forward to getting to know your child and being part of his/her spiritual growth.

Since 2006 STEP 12 SERVICE = OUR MISSION Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to others and to practice these principles in all our affairs. “Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.” (Gal 6:1) A life set free from all addictions by the Lord is a beautiful sight to behold. When we practice these principles and share our experiences, people will see the glory of God in our life and gain hope. We know from experience the depths of suffering, affliction, and brokenness. We know the pain of being enslaved to our passions and blinded by our denial. We have endured our seasons of grieving. We can relate to those who struggle to be free. We also know that there is more to life than bondage. In Christ are healing and freedom, clarity and mercy, beauty and joy. When Jesus came to earth he had a mission, which was expressed in these words: “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has appointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come…To all who mourn…he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair” (Isaiah 61:1-3) This mission has been passed on to us. Some people talk about “preaching the gospel” but may alienate those who need the Good News the most. We are in a unique position to share our experiences, our strengths, and our hope in a way that broken people can understand and receive it. Come and join us on Thursday evenings to experience the love of Christ and others through your own experience, strength and hope.
