Jesus is my ROCK…. 11 years ago on June 20th, the Innes family moved into their home in London. It was an exciting time for us because we never lived in a city before this as a family. Kathy grew up in Mount Forest and I grew up in Oakville. When we wed, I promised Kathy to live in small town but at this stage in our family, we knew it was simply time to move into the City to give our kids more options for education. So off we went to London and moved into our home on Exmouth Drive. Upon arrival, I remember noticing this large rock in our front yard. The last owners thought it was a nice decorated land mark. I thought it was a nuisance. For about a week, I looked at that rock and thought, I need to get arid of this. So I asked Jamie to move it with me….not knowing it was probably much heavier than I thought….and it was. We must have looked so foolish trying to move that rock and entertained our neighbors for sure. That rock is still there…unmovable…but not so much of a nuisance. I look at it as a reminder that Jesus is MY Rock that is unmovable, unshakable and solid. I need this reminder in a world of inconsistency, unstable and shakable society we live in. Only Jesus Christ is the Rock that matters and I put my trust. Psalm 92:15 says, The Lord is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him. I have grown to appreciate the steadfastness of Christ when the world is so unsteady. So now I look at the Rock as a reminder of who Christ is in my life and not even I can move it. Enjoy the summer and this wonderful heat! PB and Kathy
How do you view God? Ever think of what kind of impact your view of God could make? Could it change the way you deal with life? Deal with your circumstances? Deal with decisions? Deal with yourself? Ever think of the greatness of God? How He created both the mountains and the ocean? Both vast although one is high in the sky and the other is deep and unknown? Ever think about how He knows every hair on your head or lack of hair . . . ? Are you in Awe of God? Isn't God awesome? Isn't He powerful and beyond? Are you afraid of God a bit? Is what is meant by Fear of God? Or is it about respect? Could you respect God no matter what? When things are good? When things are not so good? Could you scream Hallelujah when nothing makes sense? July's messages are about the Ancient Skies that we've shared with many others who have been in Awe of God, Fear of God and have screamed, Hallelujah! In this together, Tony Mejia

STEP TEN : PERSERVERANCE We continue to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
“So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall.” 1 Corinthians 10-12

Recovery is a lifelong process. There will be times when we grow weary and want to throw in the towel. We will experience pain, fear, and a host of other emotions. We will win some battles but lose others in the war to achieve wholeness. We may get discouraged at times when we can’t see any progress, even though we have been working hard. But if we persevere through it all, we can maintain the ground we have gained. The apostle Paul used three illustrations to teach about perseverance. He wrote to Timothy: “Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. And as Christ’s soldier, do not let yourself become tied up in the affairs of this life, for then you cannot satisfy the one who has enlisted you in his army. Follow the Lord’s rules for doing His work, just as an athlete either follows the rules or is disqualified and wins no prize. Hard working farmers are the first to enjoy the fruit of their labor. Think about what I am saying. The Lord will give you understanding in all these things” (2 Timothy 2:3-7). How many times do we look in the mirror each day? Suppose we looked in the mirror and found that we had mustard smeared around our mouth. Wouldn’t we immediately wash our face, wash and clean up the problem? In the same way, we need to routinely look at ourselves in our “Spiritual mirror,” the Bible. Then if anything is wrong, we can take the proper steps to fix it. James uses a similar illustration to show how God’s Word should be like a spiritual mirror in our life. He said, “And remember, it is a message to obey, not just to listen to. If you don’t obey, you are only fooling yourself. For if you just listen and don’t obey, it is like looking at your face in a mirror but doing nothing to improve your appearance. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you keep looking steadily into God’s perfect law, the law that sets you free and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it” (James 1: 22-25). !!!Remember faith without works is dead.!!!
