A church that celebrates…. Over the course of the last number of weeks, I have noticed how so many people are getting more into Worship on Sunday mornings. A church that celebrates… Has gratitude to God for all his goodness Has joy in the moment when things could be so wrong outside in the world Has focus on Jesus Has a desire to walk with God and to do his will!

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 NIV I love this verse, because it sums up where we are as a church. So this month of November, we are going to celebrate a few things…a number of people are getting baptized in water, we are going to celebrate life. A number of people are taking out membership, we are going to celebrate commitment. We are going to celebrate at small group the joy of NOT being a fan…so many are coming out and connecting at a heart level…that makes me celebrate. Friends, you are part of this great celebration and as we begin to peak around the corner towards Christmas, I am thankful to celebrate it with the best people I know, YOU! Celebrating with you, PB and Kathy I'll never forget seeing this tall elderly man walking into my public school gym. His face was stoic with his hat tilted neatly and the Canadian flag swaying back and forth off his shoulder. I'll never forget the synchronized footsteps, the bagpipes blowing and diversity of the colour party. Though I only stared at the man leading the march. The closer he got, the more I noticed something over his face. I noticed that he had no nose. I started thinking, "Man, I wouldn't be able to smell my mom's cooking or the smell from ripping hockey tape off my stick with my teeth; really anything." The party was in formation and the man shouted a command that halted the entire school. We heard of the poppies blowing row by row, fighting for one another and the honour of serving. I know now that it wasn't the patch that I noticed, it was the love and sacrifice that was on that man's face and what he stood for. I'll never forget that day. I'll never forget the sacrifice of many to see injustice stopped and freedom restored to the survivors. So I can smell what this land provides and serve her. God keep this land: glorious and free. Remembering, Tony Mejia

Since 2003

CR STEP 3 – FAITH

“we made a decision to turn our lives and our wills over to the care of God. “ We demonstrate faith just by the fact that we are involved in recovery taking an honest look at ourselves. If we didn’t have faith in the promise of a better future for our self or our family, we wouldn’t put our self through the hard work and pain involved in recovery. But as time passes, we may grow discouraged at the length of the process. We may have our spirits dampened by the ups and downs along the road, feeling our faith ebb more often than flow. For most of us it will take faith and patience to inherit the promise of a new life. Sometimes the insanity of living with our own habits, hang-ups or hurts or with people who are acting in bizarre ways can cause us to become desperate for help. We may feel despair and wonder is there really a way out of the insanity of our current circumstances. Maybe our plight is impossible, at least without God’s help, but faith can make even the impossible happen. Faith is a mysterious commodity. According to Jesus it takes a small amount of faith, real faith, to make a big difference. Faith is so important! Some phases of our recovery are very painful and we will need faith in God’s love for us through other people to help us get through this pain. Recovery is a time of correction, a time of facing problems and character flaws and a time for changing incorrect beliefs. There may be seasons when we do have to pay for our past. God will use these times to redirect our life toward something better. This is where we need to have faith that God knows what he is doing when it comes to the “Big Picture” in our life. To wrap this up, we are running a race. The Race of Recovery. Faith in God can give us the motivation to run the race, with a real chance at winning life’s rewards. Hebrews12: 1b-2 says “And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish.”( NLT )

parun

It is God’s will for us to win the Race of Life. There will be pain from the exertion, but we are told to pace our self and bear the pain with tience. Hebrews 12;1a tells us that there is a huge crowd who have the same race and finished well waiting to cheer us on. Hallelujah! We are not alone.

We meet every Thursday 7 pm Pot Luck Dinner Thursday November 19 @ 6 pm

WE BELIEVE the Bible is true, inspired by the Holy Spirit WE BELIEVE there is one God, the Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. WE BELIEVE in the virgin birth. That Jesus is the only Savior of the world. He lived, died, rose from the dead, ascended to heaven and He is coming back. WE BELIEVE that we can’t do it on our own. We need God and each other to live a healthy and happy life. We are here to love, accept and encourage those who God brings into our lives our church, and to show everyone God’s unconditional and everlasting love. WE BELIEVE in holy living. Everyday we aim make good and right choices that lead to a life pleasing to God. Jesus is our perfect example of loving God, yourself and your neighbor. WE BELIEVE that Jesus is Lord. Baptism is a symbol of our faith in Jesus Christ and demonstrates our desire to live a life pleasing to God in our words, deeds and actions.
