On February 10th-11th, ORHS KIWIN'S held a marriage booth where students could pay to get married along with taking a Polaroid, exchanging rings, and saying their vows. Some challenges we faced were publicizing event and overall getting the event organized. We weren't able to get the fundraiser info onto our school website so we had to rely on our officers social media and Facebook page which most of the school body isn't associated with. The first day of the fundraiser was our test day to see how the event would turn out, things started off unorganized with officers not knowing their jobs or being unaware of what they were supposed to do. We also ran out of Polaroids on the first day. On the second day we restocked on Polaroids and were more prepared of what to expect and kept the line under control. On the second day, we also ran out of Polaroids and wedding rings. There were so many people that our "priest" couldn't keep up, so we another person to officiate their weddings. Some people just ended up skipping their vows and just took their pictures. We found this fundraiser to be very successful and we will most likely do it again with next year's club. Some changes that will need to be made are better methods of publicizing and buying a sufficient amount of supplies so we don't run out.
On February 11th, La Quinta KIWIN’S sold Krispy Kreme’s infamous glazed donuts after school! Due to the beautiful weather and chill atmosphere of that particular Thursday, many students were just hanging around in the quad after classes. Attracting them with a sweet snack wasn’t difficult at all, resulting in a very successful fundraiser! We sold the donuts for $2 each, but customers also had the option to buy 2 for $3 or 12 for $15! Krispy Kreme’s fundraising program also allowed us to purchase the donuts for a huge discounted price, giving us a nice profit. LQ board members decked out in our spirit attire to attract attention and there was a large crowd of people at the beginning of the fundraiser, right when school ended. Throughout the hour, however, less and less people started to come so the officers paired up and carried boxes of donuts around the school. This strategy worked well because we were able to reach the customers who were too busy to come to our table! All the funds we raised went towards general club funding and we hope to use a large portion of it to alleviate DCON costs for our members. This fundraiser was successful not just in terms of money, but also in the fact that the LQ board got to bond and feel happy together about the success. After this experience, we will surely plan more after school fundraisers due to how easy it was to plan and execute!

Live 2 Skate
December 2015 This month, FV KIWIN'S had an ice skating fundraiser at Westminister Ice in order to raise funds for Live 2 Learn and to celebrate the start of FVHS's winter break. We had this event booked since the start of the school year since we knew from previous experience that ice skating places were booked very quickly and we wanted to secure our date. The fundraiser worked out very well, with board members advertising enough that even people outside of our club at FVHS knew about the fundraiser and showed up to support us. It was an overall great fundraiser, and was plenty of fun for our members as well.
BOWLING FOR LIVE 2 LEARN AND PTP Written by:
ANDREW DOAN FOUNTAIN VALLEY KIWIN'S JET DIVISION
February 2016 On February 20th, FV KIWIN'S had our annual bowling fundraiser at the Fountain Bowl. Initially, we planned to have the fundraiser in January after our finals week had ended, but since the date we wanted was already booked, we had to move our fundraiser to the 20th of February. The change in date and the the fact that our fundraiser was in the evening likely caused our small turnout since many of our members are underclassmen and have an early curfew. We planned to use this fundraiser to finish off our fundraising for L2L and PTP, and though we didn't reach our goal, we did reach our goal for L2L. In the end, we still ended up making a profit, and more importantly, our members had tons of fun at the fundraiser, which is what really matters.
SURPIES! Hello hello KIWIN’S I hope you’ve all had some nice (and well-deserved) breaks this holi- day season! There’s nothing better than time off from school to relax and renew… except maybe pies. Okay there’s nothing better than no school, but this nicely segues into the thanks- giving grams that LQ KIWIN’S sold the week before Thanksgiving Break! For just $2, students were able to send off their friends and teachers with a cute gram and an even cuter MINI PIE. The pies were about the size of a person’s hand and came in apple or pumpkin. Not only were they super delicious, but our club was also able to make a nice profit, making our grams a win-win situation. The whole process was super easy because all we needed to do was print the grams and buy the pies before the day we passed them out. Obtaining the pies were the only small bumps in our road because we needed so many of them that board members had to drive to several locations the night before to pick up enough. If we were to ever do grams again in the future, we would definitely make sure there was enough stock at least a week before we needed them. The whole process was a good experience, however, because board members got the opportunity to bond while passing out the grams! We were even able to thank our school faculty by passing out some of the extra pies to teachers, custodians, and office workers. These thanksgiving grams were not only a super cute and profitable way to brighten LQ’s spirits, but to also show our appreciation for friends and faculty before the holi- day season began!! COME JOIN US FOR SOME YUMMY FOOD & SUPPORT ELIMINATE AT THE SAME TIME!!! *where? located in the puente hills mall *when? Wednesday, November 4th *time? 4-8 pm * Make sure to mention you are supporting
This fundraiser was to raise money for ELIMINATE. Chipotle was nice enough to listen to what ELIMINATE is and what it meant. The manager their was very polite and nice in supporting our cause and club. She gave us 50% of the profit in every purchase which led to us raising $250. Through this fundraiser I have learned if you reach out to others and explain what KIWIN’s is, then your sincereness gets to everyone. If service is said through heart then it will always win words you don't mean. I really did not see any obstacles in my fundraiser but I heard that some people forgot to mention they were here to support KIWIN’S so the money could not be donated. Other than that everyone had a great time and the fundraiser was a success.

Because it does deal with clothes, KIWIN’S does pair up with our Fashion Club to host this event. We also open up the event to other clubs to have a fundraising opportunity by letting them sell their choice of food at the event. Every year our club sells the drinks, and provides gift baskets for the raffles. This year we had about 5 other clubs selling food including our Marina Key Club. ARTICLE Buffalo Wild Wings
On January 28, Segerstrom KIWIN'S held another fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings. This fundraiser was extremely successful. We were only given 10% of the proceeds and in the end raised $283.27 for the club. This means the restaurant earned over $2000 just from those supporting the club. The reason we chose January 28 was for members and other students at Segerstrom to have somewhere to go after finals. It was the last day of finals and everyone needed a stress reliever. Members got together and enjoyed themselves just like the last time. We were supported by not just KIWIN'S members, but students that were not in the club as well. They were well aware of the fundraiser and decided to come and support the club. Overall, the event was a huge success, and we will definitely host another Buffalo Wild Wings fundraiser.
Tea Party Lounge During the weeks of February 12th-February 28th, Segerstrom KIWIN'S held their first fundraiser at the Tea Party Lounge in Fountain Valley. Members went out to support the club by buying food and drinks from TPL and 25% of the profit went back to us. Besides members from our home club, members from other clubs in our division such as FV and Edison came out to support as well. We chose these dates because we felt like with a longer fundraiser, people would not feel pressured to go during a specific day or time in order to support. With the extended time, people could come out and have a drink whenever it would fit them. The other reason for the date extension is that Jet's Got Talent was on February 27th. Because of the location of JGT, it was convenient for members to come before or after the show in order to grab a quick bite there or on the go. With the exceptional food and customer service, it was a great, friendly environment to hang out with your friends. Because the fundraiser ends today, the profit is yet uncounted for. This is a great fundraiser that we would like to do again.
Krispy Kreme to Save Babies Downey High School KIWIN’S hosted a fundraiser at a local seafood restaurant selling Krispy Kreme Doughnuts to raise money for Project ELIMINATE. The restaurant donated the money for doughnuts and waters for us to give out for free and we collected donations. We educated our community on Project ELIMINATE and informed them that it only costs $1.80 to save a mother and her future babies, many people donated to support the cause. Our stand was located near Downtown Downey on a busy street and right in front of a bus stop, so this also helped attract customers. Our members advertised through social media and reached out to family members and friends. We even delivered dozen boxes to those that requested it. This fundraiser was a major success and we managed to save about 260 babies and their mothers from MNT in about 4 hours!!
