Gravelly Point is a unique park where visitors and residents can come to relax and experience planes departing and landing. Visitors are able to take a moment of clarity while experiencing the ups and downs of what planes have to offer as they depart and arrive at their location. The coworking office capitalizes on real estate by providing support and a variety of spaces which help to foster growth and productivity. In addition, the space provides clear way-finding and touchdown points for users.

REALIGNMENT Fall 2019 - Social Media Satellite Of fice
Site Analysis Diagram
Taking a social media-based company, the project involved creating a two-level office space that focused on branding, company values, and workplace design trends. This TikTok social media office is located in the Adams Morgan district in Washington, D.C. This site was chosen because of its night life and cultural atmosphere which boasts the concept of realignment and provides external amenities for a twentyfour hour office space.
Reception Area rendering which features a bar and reception desk mimicking the form of the TikTok logo.

First floor media room featuring a glass partition wall for workers to see the media wall while working. The conference room table can be converted into a ping-pong table.
CONCEP T STATEMENT TikTok’s current office is lacking in collaboration spaces and is “dark and full” which has led to employee dissatisfaction. Identifying these major concerns, the concept of realignment was created to shift the atmosphere of the office physically and mentally to create a vibrant, twenty-four hour office thats promotes collaboration and employee satisfaction. The physical shift is represented through the floor plan and flooring changes. To promote collaboration to shift the company mentally, two collaboration areas are placed on opposite sides of the space with a main axis connecting the two spaces. This main axis features not only the vertical shift, but is placed intentionally to promote interaction among employees.

CREATE AREA TikTok's slogan is "To create your day," focusing on creativity and producing videos that show off each individual. To reinforce this, a create area was included in the space plan, complete with a green screen, to create unique videos. The area is raised to highlight the creativity and draw the attention of other users in hopes to encourage others to create.

TikTok’s logo is graphically displayed along with bright colors to infuse energy into the space. A drop-down ceiling provides acoustical separation from the adjacent open of fice. 17
MATERIALS Moving away from the "tired and dull" office, the material palette uses TikTok's bright pink and incorporates a bright yellow to evoke a colorful and bright atmosphere that reflects the companies value of creativity. The concept is reinforced through the flooring change as seen through the slanted lines that connect the collaboration spaces together. LVT is used on the main circulation path while carpet tiles are used in the open offices, private offices, and conference room to provide acoustical support.

HARBOR Fall 2019 - IDEC Student Competition Group Project with Mackenzie Oesterreich
Scanned with CamScanner
Lighting Conceptual Sketches
The IDEC student competition involved designing a basic needs shelter for the local homeless population which promoted security and access to personal hygiene amenities. Research and site visits to surrounding homeless shelters influenced the design. The site, located in Monroe Park, Richmond, Virginia, is placed near the highest density of homeless individuals and is located near food options, hospitals, and transportation via bus.
The interior of the Harbor features alcoves which allow for personal reflection and promotes individualit y. The Harbor is extended to block views from the exterior of the building and make users feel a sense of securit y and comfort.
The exterior of the Harbor features a reception area and bench seating to welcome visitors into the space. Lighting and the form help to guide users into the space.
