01
MARKER LAYERING Mark Making
Assignment was to experiment with layering of markers to understand the media and build on technique.
02
RENDERING A CUBE Rendering Simple Forms
Building off of last weeks assignment but this time, in three dimensional forms which experiment with light and shadows.
03
RENDERING SIMPLE SPACES 1 Rendering Simple Planes
Working in perspective to establish light and shadow within a space. Experimented with color and different marker rendering styles.
04
RENDERING SIMPLE SPACES 2 Not Held By Gravity
Using last weeks perspective studies to build on forms by creating voids and forms in the space. Worked on adding dimension and depth to the rendering style.
05
PASSAGE REVISITED Section Studies
Experimenting with color and styles to make section cuts that explore architectural forms in an abstracted way.
06
BLACKSBURG STORIES Mark Making
Using different diagramming techniques and styles to create a diagram which describes an important event in Blacksburg, VA. Mine described a night out with my roommates freshman year.
07
MATERIAL SIMULATIONS 1 M a t e r i a l s , P a t t e r n s a n d Te x t u r e s
Using marker techniques to mimic the tone, color and composition of materials. Two wood, two stone, one metallic and one glass material.
08
MATERIAL SIMULATIONS 2 Furniture
Building off of last weeks material renderings to apply the material onto a three dimensional form and establish texture.
09
ROOM VIGNETTE People
Selected an interior photo to render and add our own style to. Photo from Interior Design Magazine.
10
ALTERED STATES From a photo from a unique and altered spot on campus, a rendered photo with a void to emphasize the altered state was assigned.
11
SPATIAL NARRATIVES Using perspective and techniques used over the semester, a rendered perspective with abstract voids and additions was composed.
