HIYA SEALS, Hello seals! Its your Lieutenant Governor here to check in on you all! Have you been doing well? Have you been staying hydrated in the recent heat? I hope you are all doing well with summer school or vacationing somewhere nice! I have recently been busy with classes from 7am5pm which is tiring, but getting to see all of you each weekend always gives me the strength to keep going! Thank you for your hard work this month! Also a big thank you for showing your seal spirit at our recent Region Picnic! You were all so amazing and I am so glad to be serving the littiest division in CNH! Splash on my loves!

HEY SEALS, Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read this newsletter! Seriously, it means the world to me <3 Summer break is almost coming to a close (at least for some of us) which means I’ll be back in school and stressing out once again. But, I’m super excited to recruit some new people to join Key Club and show them why this organization is as amazing as it is! Hopefully everyone was able to de-stress and enjoy their summer like I did! In this newsletter you’ll find articles and pictures from Preserving Our Planet, Region Picnic, and the July DCM. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this issue from members to historians, I LOVE YOU!! Please make sure to stay hydrated since the weather is getting extremely hot! Dihydrogen monoxide is very good for you! ;) Hope to see ya’ll around!

It was a really fun experience to help our community. The most memorable part of this event was the icebreakers. They were funny and I actually made some new friends. Although I was a blinded seal for half of the time, it was a really great experience to get out of my house and meet new people. - Kaixin Liu | Mountain View High School

REGION For my last and final Region Picnic with Arcadia Key Club, I shared an exuberant and vigorous time with my fellow Key Club members. I am sad to say that it was my last time at this event, but I believe that it was well spent. At the event, I was allowed to integrate fundraising and socializing by spending time with my friends and help fundraise for charities such as PTP and Eliminate. Other than this, we practiced our Key Club spirit cheers in preparation for Fall Rally South and competed for the annual spirit battle at Region Picnic. Unfortunately, Division 35 West did not make it to the second round. However, our lovely and dedicated members still illustrated their spirit and ardor that they share for the club we all cherish. Although the heat caused the event to be less pleasurable, overall it was a major success and one worth the time for future Key Clubbers!

N PICNIC a message from STC jessica liu To you crazy seals that came out to Region Picnic and cheered your heart out in the middle of a 100+ degree heatwave, THANK YOU! You all showed true seal-y spirit, keeping up a great attitude despite the many difficulties we faced that day. I hope that you will be able to take Region Picnic as not only a pretty great memory, but also as a learning experience. For you all that couldn’t make it, no worries! Shannon and I plan on hosting more spirit sessions and compiling an amazing team of spirit leaders to help you out :) Fall Rally is only a couple months away, IT’S TIME TO GET THAT GRIND ON! Please make an effort to show up to as many spirit sessions as you can! Winning that spirit stick is entirely possible, but it’s going to take EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU SEALS to do it! Shannon and I have complete faith in our division, I hope you do too! Don’t be afraid to pitch in questions/comments/concerns about our cheers or spirit sessions, we’re happy to get as much help as we can get :) HAVE A POPPIN SUMMER <3

The July DCM took place at Del Norte Park and was a collaboration between D35W Key Club and KIWIN’s Goldstone. To start off the event, members played an icebreaker called “Assassin” that allowed seals and gators to get to know one another. For the service portion of the DCM, Key Clubbers and KIWIN’s gators cleaned up the park by picking up trash. Although it was extremely hot outside, members were able to cool off with the help of some super awesome water activities like the splash pad at Del Norte Park, water balloon fights, and water guns! Key Clubbers weren’t hesitant to get wet in the 90 degree weather. Personally, I had an amazing time at this DCM especially because of all the water-related fun!! - Katie Kyan | Glen A.
