YOUR PRESIDENT

a message from your PRESIDENT HEY SEALS!

It’s your president here! This is the last message from me as your 2016-2017 President. But it’s okay! The new term will bring a lot of exciting and new opportunities for you all! I encourage every single one of you to REACH FOR THE STARS and try new things like running for a position! It was an honor serving you all as the 2016-2017 president and I wish the future cabinet the best of luck. However, I will still be serving as your president until the end of DCON. This is where the current cabinet will retire and new cabinet will be installed! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to experience the District Convention in Anaheim! Anyways, if you guys have questions, contact me. I will always be here for you all no matter what!

A GOODBYE BARK

a goodbye bark from the news editor

HEY KEY CLUBBERS, I published my first newsletter in May of 2016 and since then, I’ve had the honor of capturing our Key Club memories for TWELVE MONTHS. Honestly, I can’t believe it’s that time of the year where the new cabinet is is about to take over and I look foward to seeing what their term will hold for the future. THANK YOU for giving me the opportunity to serve as your News Editor! It’s been a pleasure gathering pictures and articles from all of the amazing events we’ve had and while I’m sad to retire from this position after DCON, I’m excited for another year of memories with you guys! With that being said, please continue to attend the upcoming events as the school year comes to an end! Once again, thank you for reading my newsletters and for being a part of my “key club moment” as your News Editor!

BREA 8K RUN

Brea 8K RUN

At the Brea 8K Run, we were assigned into a group for each section of the race. I was set guarding the speaker with Claudia and Kelly. Other Key Clubbers were in charge of handing out food such as oranges and bananas to the runners. My favorite part of the event was going to Target after our work was done since it was pretty cold that day and it was warm inside. Afterwards, when the event was over, I was able to get food with Selena and Annie. Nathaly Hernandez | Freshman | Member

Brandon Yi

2016-2017 Spirit Leader

As the year comes to an end, I would like to THANK every single one of y’all for your hard work! As I’ve mentioned before, people did motivate me throughout my Key Club career, and I’m not sure where I’d be without you guys today. As you may or may not have known, many of our notable seniors such as Dylan Tran, David Lam, William Lee, etc. will be leaving us next year... If you guys can do one last favor before the end of my term as your Spirit Leader, I would like to request a little FAREWELL to our amazing seniors for their hard work!! A quick shoutout to the freshmen as well who joined Key Club this year. ESPECIALLY the fact that you guys were able to get me back on my feet... IM SO IMPRESSED AHHHH... I felt so much passion and motivation from you guys to a degree, where I wanted to check on every one of y’all as if you guys were my adorable siblings! As this term is coming to an end next month, I hope to set a good example and set an even BIGGER example next year but this time as one of your Vice Presidents. I hope to lead all of you guys to a BEAUTIFUL FLOWERY road with positive vibes. If you guys are EVER stressing out or feeling lonely and need someone to talk to, ALWAYS come to me. Courtney Sy

2016-2017 Tech Editor

Hello beautiful seals! It has been an honor to serve as your Tech Editor for the 2016-2017 term. It makes me so happy when I see all these new faces come to events I would help inform y’all on. I just want to go up to each and every one of you and give you hugs! Towards the beginning of my term, I was delighted to work with other cabinet members and looking back, I can truly say that they are like family. We have made great memories and SHARED MEMES I will treasure in my heart. Even though we sometimes get salty and roast each other, it’s okay! That just makes our cabinet, us! As days go by, my term is finally coming to an end. Although it is bittersweet, I’m very excited to see what the new cabinet brings to you all. Thank you for this wonderful leadership opportunity, I’ll seal you all soon. Courtney Sy| Junior | 2016-2017 Tech Editor

GOODBYE

Katie Kyan

2016-2017 News Editor

I remember walking around on the day of Club Rush wondering why there were so many people wearing teal and screaming at each other. Now, I am proud to say that I am one of those many people, shouting Key Club chants and actively showing my seal pride. First of all, I’d like to thank my fellow cabinet members this year for welcoming me into the club and for constantly making me laugh. I’m so glad that I was able to meet such amazing and talented individuals through this club. Moreover, thank you for giving me the chance to serve as your News Editor. I poured my heart into every single newsletter and I hope that I did at least a decent job of capturing the memories we’ve made as an ohana this year. Joining Key Club was one of the best decisions that I’ve ever made in my life and the memories that I’ve created with y’all will definitely be moments that I’ll treasure forever. To everyone who helped me write articles, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART! I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my newsletters as much as I’ve enjoyed creating them. <3 Congrats to the 2017-2018 cabinet members, I can’t wait to see what you’ll do for this club and I promise I’ll always be here to support and cheer you guys on! GOODBYE

Claudia Chavez 2016-2017 Event Coordinator

2016 to 2017 has created some of my best high school memories and I owe it to this club. But not the club itself, no I owe it to you guys, the members. You guys are the reason that this club has become a SECOND HOME to me. All of you guys have impacted me in ways that I wouldn’t be able to explain. I would like to thank each and every person in key club from the very bottom of my heart. It’s thanks to all of you guys and your selfless dedication that allows this club to be what it is. I hope you all understand just how much your service really helps people that need it. Thanks to everyone this year, key club has really changed my high school years for the better. The Oxford English Dictionary has over 200,000 words in it, and still I am unable to truly explain how thankful I am. Claudia Chavez| Junior | 2016-2017 Event Coordinator
