A HELLO BARK
a hello bark from the news editor
HEY KEY CLUBBERS, I can’t believe my term as your News Editor is about to end in two months! Honestly, I’ve enjoyed serving in the 2016-2017 cabinet so much this year and I look forward to seeing what the new cabinet will do! Please continue to attend the upcoming events and to all the seniors with senioritis, what better way to enjoy the remaining months of high school than to spend it with your Key Club family? :) I encourage you guys to continue working towards your goals since we’ve only got two more grading periods to go! Once again, THANK YOU to everyone who has helped me write articles and take pictures. Without you guys, there wouldn’t be a newsletter! I’m glad I have the opportunity to work with people who love Key Club just as much as I do. <3

PASADENA H. M.
Pasadena
half marathon
In the Pasadena Half Marathon, we helped set up the refreshments and gave water to the participants. We also cleaned up after the run was over. This event was memorable because even though it was raining, there were still so many participants and volunteers, and they were all very positive. We were supposed to be at the site by 5:30, but our volunteer manager didn’t arrive until 7:00. My favorite part of the event was preparing the drinks before the race started, because we got to put out cups and stack them up. Kelly Chow | Junior | Member

GRIFFITH PARK H. M.
GRIFFITH PARK
half marathon
At the Griffith Park Half Marathon I had arrived early so I helped with set up, but once everyone else had arrived they assigned us the job of signing people in and giving them their bibs!! After signing everyone in we walked around and visited the booths and interacted with other Key Clubbers. Then, once the marathon was over we helped clean up and just enjoyed the rest of our day at the park! Mireya Castillo | Freshman | Member

At the Firecracker Run, Key Clubbers were assigned to numerous jobs around the event. I was assigned to refreshments. During my shift, I was able to meet so many key clubbers from different divisions such as Richard Rafanan and Gisselle Gutierrez from D3 South! As we were handing out the refreshments which included bananas, oranges, and fortune cookies, etc, I received so many ‘thank you’s from the runners which proved to be such a HUMBLING EXPERIENCE. I was glad to have been able to participate in such a positive and fun event. Julie Yang | Sophomore | Member
