YOUR PRESIDENT

a message from your PRESIDENT HEY SEALS!

I hope you all enjoyed your winter break and the time off from school! Thank you to everyone that came to all these events this month! Even though there was a break, you seals still went out and did some community service! Although it’s time to hit the books again, don’t forget about serving the community. Bring your friends out to come and enjoy the events with you because everyone is welcome in this club! DCON is also coming up so don’t forget to ask your parents if you can go. The price may be a little high, but it’s a great experience. If you have any questions about it, don’t hesitate to ask me! I can’t wait to see all of your beautiful faces at future events and meetings! I’ll always be here for you guys! :)

A HELLO BARK

a hello bark from the news editor

HEY KEY CLUBBERS,

It’s a whole new year and while I am reluctant to return to my hectic school schedule, I can’t wait to see what 2017 will hold for me! Each year seems to pass by so fast and it’s scary to think that I am almost finished with high school. As for my New Year’s resolution, I want to be able to savor every amazing moment that comes my way in 2017. Being able to have opportunities such as joining this club is something that I don’t want to take for granted. What’s your goal for this year? As always, SERVICE NEVER ENDS so please come to the upcoming events! If you’re ever curious about the details involving a specific service event, you can always ask a cabinet member by messaging us through FB. We’re halfway through the school year guys! Only a couple more months before summer comes around again, so hang in there! :)

FROST FEST

FROST FEST

My time at Frost Fest was extremely enjoyable and frosty. Frost Fest was an occasion hosted by the Hacienda Heights community that involved FUN FOR KIDS AND BREAKFAST FOR ALL. There, I got to experience many things that I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise. I participated in numerous activities, such as assisting the children down the slide and directing traffic among jumpers, while also spending quality time with my friends. Overall, Frost Fest was a super extraordinary event, and I’d recommend it to anyone in the future! William Trang | Freshman | Member

The December DCM was a joint DCM with D10S. It was very fun because we played a bunch of icebreakers and the D10S lieutenant governor came over and played games with our division. My personal favorite part was the chow mein that they served us for lunch (it was very good!!!). I also got to get closer with some of the other members of our division and it was an overall very enjoyable experience. Sydney Ly | Freshman | Member

ROSE FLOATS

ROSE FLOATS pasadena and azusa For a good amount of time we cut the petals of strawflower and cut flowers from their stems. We also applied a variety of seeds, bark, fruits, vegetables, grasses, and flowers onto floats. We were given the chance to go on the scaffolding which was quite an experience. Getting to go on the scaffolding was my favorite part. Being so high up, I was able to see all the floats from a completely different angle. Overall, I had a lot of fun and I will definitely go to the next Rose Float decorating. Michelle Pan| Freshman | Member

JANUARY DCM

JANUARY DCM The January DCM consisted of a service event and the Winter Olympics 2017. For the service event, we traced our hands on paper, designed them, and cut them out to distribute to kids in Indonesia. We played a variety of games for the Winter Olympics, including “necking the tennis ball, where team members passed a tennis ball down the row using only their necks and the team that finished first won. Overall, it was a great experience with a lively atmosphere for all to enjoy. Brianna Hou| Junior | Historian
