Kiwanis Car Wash is an event to raise scholarship for key clubbers. It's a free car wash and the customers could fundraise any amount of money. September 23, 2017, was the day that held the event, it started at 8.30 and ended at 3 pm. I as Key Clubber at Kauai High had a very fantastic time with washing cars and talking to the Kapaa High Key Clubbers as well. We washed 90 plus cars and broke the record. I stayed for all three shifts and was exhausted halfway. But overall it was a great day. I learned the cheer and the remix which was “ I feel good, oh I feel so good. I feel fine, all of the time aboga aboga…” remix. “Hold up wait a minute, let me put some booty in it.Ugh, some booty…” And what highlighted me that day was the soft and chewy malasadas and Krispy Kreme donuts.

-Romina Grace Castillo On September 23rd, Kauai High Key Club took joined forces with Kapa’a High Key Club to participate and raise money through donations for our sponsor, the Kiwanis. The Key Clubbers worked diligently and were dedicated to making the cars shine as bright as the sun that kissed all our faces making all of us just a bit darker throughout the day. Everybody was keen on washing and drying cars that came and went throughout the day. The Key Clubbers were able to see cars that piqued their interest. Getting to wash all these cool cars allowed the members to bond. I mean take it from me, I felt ecstatic to be able to wash a Subaru!

Rice Street Block Party was held this Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 5pm-9pm. The Rice Street Block Party was a family-focused event to bring our community together to see art, culture, food, history, entertainment, and etc. What we did to help to make the event successful was helping them decorate the road by painting the road ( the left arrow and bicycle ). We also put up flowers on the sidewalk. Next, we also carried this big wood to make the sidewalk bigger. I felt like a construction person that day and made me realize that I love decorating things in general. Overall, the event was successful. And they provided us with free drinks and a great meal and donuts.

On September 23rd, Kauai High Key Clubbers helped the community with the celebration on Rice Street called Block Party. Everyone helped by carrying heavy shipping pallets and plywood to simulate a new and bigger sidewalk on the streets. They also worked together with repainting the street. All members enthusiasm and willingness to do any task during the event brought upon them showed how dedicated they were to the club and public. It was honoring and a lot of fun to be part of an event that brings smiles to families, especially the keikis! -Venus Sebastian
