Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane Australia

Written by: Linda Lola

015 marked the 10th year anniversary for the most sought after fashion event on Queensland social calendar, which took place at the John Reid Pavilion heritage building at the Brisbane Show Ground also known as the RNA show grounds. As I arrived on day 1 of the festival, there was a display of 10 Mercedes Benz vehicles with custom-made wraps styled by 10 of Queensland and Australia’s fashion industry leaders. They were commissioned by Mercedes-Benz to ‘style’ 10 of the luxury brand’s vehicles. Most of them have been a part of, or showcased with the festival for years; Vogue Australia Editor-in-Chief Edwina McCann, Alex Perry, Toni Maticevski and Sunshine Coast duo Adrian Norris and Edwina Robinson of

Aje along with Easton Pearson, Paul Hunt, George Wu, Maiocchi, Urbbana and Sacha Drake. My first day kicked off with Brisbane Arcade Group Show, sitting on the front row allowed me a clear vision of what was about to unfold from ( Pia du Pradal, Maiocchi, Tengdahl, IRMA J SMITH, Bora and Darb couture. Brisbane Arcade Group Show at MBFFB was a show to remember. They definitely out did themselves with design and creativity that suits every taste. Pia du Pradal took us on a journey to a royal ascot day along with Julie Tengdahl to the deserts of Afghanistan from which her collection was inspired during a previous visit. Then there was MAIOCCHI who reminded us that the classic summer dress is the new black for the new season with their funky floral, mermaid prints and bright colours while at the same time managing to stay modern and on trend. Then just when we thought we had indulged on all things fashion there comes Bora with her jaw dropping designs. Her Vivacious, sexy, feminine designs were the top eye catching trends of the night featuring an all flavour mixing lace and drapes on backless style dresses. Then in the midst of the excitement there comes Darb couture. From his first gown to the finish all in attendance were in a state of amusement! When the music started we knew something incredible was about to be showcased on the runway. Their gorgeous and amazing designs sent shivers down your spine being made of raffle and lace while still keeping his signature and classic style. Fashion week wouldn’t be a complete without the bridal gowns, gowns so dreamy you could clearly see the story behind every one of them from George Wu with Roman’s biblical influence, to Jack Sullivan that resembled a balance of old-fashioned elegance with a modern playful twist. Mercedes Benz Fashion festival are massive supporters of new emerging fashion design talents. They teamed up with Next Hotel where they showcased new and upcoming groups of young designers. The Next Hotel, Next Gen Show was a success! The determination of these young designers was definitely reinforced. From where I was sitting, the future of fashion design and

modelling in Australia is certainly looking brighter. The designers were SISS ON BARE, WILD WILLOW, KABEL APPAREL, MEGAN CANNINGS, SUZII K, PEONY, IZZQ DESIGNS, EAU PAIX VIE SWIMWEAR, HANNA AND ROUX MAY. With fresh look, HANNA graced the runway with classy exquisite prints then came IZZQ DESIGNS with jaw dropping black lace gowns and white jump suits. The very talented SUZII K showed us what classy but sexy is all about. The right con-

trast and flowy fabrics were the “It Game”. The Festival continued with leading Brisbane fashion designer retail stores showcasing what they had in store for the new season. Classic style swimwear also took stand on the runway. Louenhide are best known by handbags and accessories but on this night they shined with beautiful, simply and stylish clothing from Cosmo print Kaftans to

elegant white picnic pants. As expected, Wyse, Aqua Blu swimwear, Jamu Australia and White Label Noba were divine. With soft fabrics and sequins they were dazzling! Sacha Drake, the repeat offender of MBFF Brisbane outshined everyone with her show stoppers, a white gown lined with little lights and a black and white gown with a (Thank you) written over it. Finally, evening & cocktail gowns from Jack Sullivan who had showcased his bridal collection earlier at the festival owned the runway with 2 massive collections at the most fabulous week in Brisbane. Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane is truly an amazing show from start to finish and forme allows me to meet other fashionista’s from around the country and the world who are just as eager as I am to witness first hand designers dreams come to life. This year’s showcase of talent was brilliant and therefore I’m already looking forward to next year’s #MBFF festival.

for a theatre department and worked on more tailored garments for stage productions. She had to combine the knowledge she picked up with her own creativity and ingenuity and again figure out the rest in time. Sheri started professionally creating her own designs while attending college right out of her apartment bedroom with a borrowed sewing machine. At this time she was working on her degree in fashion design and merchandising. While studying for her degree, she was also a competing ballroom dancer and made her own gowns. One day, while Sheri was away rehearsing, another dancer noticed one of her gowns hanging in the corner. She asked, “Where did you get this”? A few weeks later she paid Sheri to design her a custom gown and this was when Sheri Loraine’s business was officially started.

sewing and design to her “mom”. Her mother taught her a few sewing basics but soon afterwards let her figure out the rest as time went on. Today Sheri Loraine is a Ballroom dance gown designer and her gowns have been seen around the world.

Today, Sheri is currently working on several custom orders for various clients. She has also designed a very special gown for the Johnjay & Rich #Loveup charity event. Her beautiful gown was featured on the runway and made available for auction with the proceeds going to charity to benefit foster children in Arizona. This year alone Sheri has been involved in several runway shows some which include: Fashion for the Arts, Fashion for Foster, and F.A.B. Weekend. She also had a video made that shows others exactly what it is she does!

Ballroom dance gown construction is very unique and not taught in school. Sheri’s knowledge and skills had to be learned along the way from a variety of different employers. Sheri first worked in the industry as a rhinestone artist and seamstress while she was in the early parts of her college education. She later worked as a seamstress

Sheri loves the positive body movement that has been happening today and personally think “there is something beautiful about everyone”. She loves differences; they inspire. She hopes that the fashion industry can embrace this movement more fully. She told us she would “love to see women of all ages feel confident in

rom scraps of clothing to pure elegance best describes the fashion journey of Sheri Loraine. Growing up in a home where it was constantly filled with arts and craft supplies, sparked the interest of Sheri to become a fashion designer at a very early age. Sheri recalls begging her mother to allow her to have some fabric scraps and use her machine so she could make something different for herself to wear. At first her mother was a little hesitant but after Sheri’s persistence, her mother finally allowed her pull up a chair and go to work. Sheri feels that she actually owes a lot of her initial interest in

When asked, “What’s the one thing you would like mentioned the most about you in this article”, she replied, “When I create a custom gown, a huge part of my design process revolves around my client. It’s my job to help them realize what exactly they want, and exceed their expectations. It is a really creative and exciting process with a different result created each time”. Sheri loves designing which is very evident just by the way she meticulously designs each gown for each client. In her own words, she “feels blessed to be able to have others value and appreciate her work along the way”. Trends By Louise Beauty Report

Look #1 Flatteringly Flushed Strobing has been the hottest trend of the season thanks to Pat McGrath. We don’t see this trend going anywhere any time soon. It is here to stay, and may we say, it is a nice change to all the contouring we are seeing. Trust us, we still love contouring. We decided to take strobing and give it a bit of a spin. We created this look for women who love a natural look, and perfect skin. Trends by Louise took the Orgasm Blush by NARS, and used it for eyeshadow, contour, highlight, and lipstick. Did you know that this product was made for all shades of skin tones? We love that about this blush, and yes that is right...we used one product achieve this look. No mascara was used here, but we encourage you to try without, if you must, try using a brown shade or a lengthening mascara, for that doll lash effect. Remember if you wet your brush you can achieve different intensities with this one shade. I also applied gloss over this shade for a softening effect. Try something new - be comfortable in your own skin.

48

Look #2 Modern Dame This look is for the trend-setter, for the woman who wants to turn heads when she walks into a room. The idea for this look is to match your eyeshadow to your blush. We recommend applying bronzer onto your eyelids and then choosing a warm peachy-pink hue, placing it on top of the bronzer you’ve placed on the eyelid, then carry it through to your cheek bones for a sexy flush. Try NARS Laguna Bronzer and MAC blush in Dessert Rose for dark skin, and for fair skin MAC Dame Blush. Keep the skin very radiant, if left too matte the skin will look overly made up. To add a instant glow to your skin, mix Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair to your foundation. The effect is red carpet worthy - we promise. Lips look amazing with red - any shade of red goes this season. We assure you there is a red shade for everyone, it’s about choosing the correct undertone. If this look is too much, try using a tinted lip balm with a slight red effect to it. Try NYX Butter Lip Balm.

49

Look #3

Boho Chic Graphic liner we’ve seen all over the runways for quite some time now, and we are all loving how it’s inspired us to be adventurous with our eye-makeup. Now it’s nice to try the undone Boho Underliner trend gracing the catwalks, and fashion magazines alike. Luckily these trends are here to stay, so we want to show you how to work these trends into your every day life. Chanel Illusion d’ombre in Mirifique, is a modern approach to getting that Boho liner look. It’s smooth, smudgy and sets to a glimmering smokey effect. We recommend adding a nude shadow to the whole eye area, this will keep it from going to dark. Apply 3-4 coats of your favourite mascara, we recommend Butterfly Mascara by Loreal. Doll lashes are a very big trend right now, so make sure you really add definition for this look. Trends by Louise recommends to try individual lashes to ad more lash. Full strip lashes can make this look seem less undone, however do what you feel comfortable with. For the cheeks add bronzer with peach undertone. Apply concealer on the lips and top it with a creamy peach lipstick; like MAC Creme de Nude for fair skin; and for darker skin tones MAC Shanghai Spice.

achelle’s fascinators (Women’s Headwear) are brilliantly designed. Even though she got a late start in the headwear design industry, she is quickly becoming a household name in her arena. She only began showing interest in headwear design in her late 30’s. At the time she had a master’s instructional Systems Design which is more for engineering design not clothing design. I guess you would have to say that the design gene was always there. Being self-taught in the fashion industry can just about always lead to some very original designs. From the very beginning her reflective personality has influenced her designs. She uses materials such as feathers, trims and accents. Her creations are all original pieces from concept to creation. She

74

never uses a pattern. Her designs take on a shape of their own. Before designing she pictures a client’s facial structure, and then designs the best piece to accentuate the beauty of that client’s face. She believes that all women are beautiful; it’s about finding each woman’s best angle and enhancing that natural beauty. Other headwear designers have also influenced her work, Alexander McQueen (avant-garde), Philip Treacy (bold headwear), Lisa Marinucci (brilliant crowns and couture jewelry), Janna Coumoundouros (fashion forward dress and unique machine jewelry) and many more elite designers from around the world. Rachelle recently designed two crowns and one fascinator for the feature film “Crowning Jules” (A Lucas Film) starring Elizabeth and Jaqueline Labadie to be released

Her designs have been featured in a variety of bridal magazines, fashion magazines, parades, opera shows, charity events, competitions, festivals and TV. What began as designing costumes for her girls’ youth theater has now blossomed into something she could have never imagined or dreamed possible. She said, “Design chose her; she did not choose it”. Fashion & Lfestyle Blogger - Eliza Armand

by: Eliza FASHION CONFESSION Introduction and Q&A with Eliza Armand

F

ashion and lifestyle blogger Eliza Armand is bringing a unique awareness to the fashion industry that deserves all of our attention. FASHION CONFESSION by Eliza her personal blog is not all about looks, style and high-end clothing but it’s about serious movements in fashion and about how the market as we know it may be collapsing. She discusses topics as why 3D printers will come to replace manual labor in the fashion design industry. As a matter of fact, Eliza believes that fashion as we once knew it is already dead. Through her blog readers can now be more informed as to how it all works.

she worked for about 10 years as a PR specialist in foreign companies. After a while in the PR industry she decided it was time to start her own business. It was then that she began to study fashion design and the business of fashion. During this time period she collaborated with a colleague on a few menswear projects. However, due to certain circumstances, she had to move to another country, where, unfortunately, she was not able to continue her education. So because of the move and not wanting to lose her journalistic abilities, Eliza decided to create her own unique fashion blog. Now almost a year later she is already getting major attention from industry professionals During and after Eliza’s college university years and gaining more notoriety every month. Her

I think it inspires people a lot. And I’m always looking something interesting and not trivial to share with. Eliza’s career has always been related to the fashion business, so fashion blogging has become her professional outlet. She currently has a fully booked schedule for several months ahead which will take a lot of careful planning to execute successfully. for all. When asked how to best describe her blog she told us she wanted it to have the feel of a fun however mature magazine. There is one feature you won’t find while reading this blog, redundancy. FANATIQUE_ OF is very authentic from start to finish since you never know what to expect next. Even though Martine loves all of her post, one of her favorite post was when she had the opportunity to write about a few brands that originated from her native Caribbean country of Haiti. New York Fashion Week was still probably her most favorite post and coverage ever. Covering such a major event gave her plenty to talk about and share with her fans around the world. With limited time to visit every shopping spot, Martine has to adhere to a very tight schedule while shopping. She can often be found shopping at a variety of stores such as Barneys New York, Bergdorf Goodman, Banana Republic, Old Navy, H&M, or just stopping by the nearest Target or T.J.Maxx all the while searching for great opportunities to pass on to her readers. Shopping at a variety of stores in various locations helps her to mix up brands while still staying on trend.

f you ever get the opportunity to have a conversation with Martine Cadet, you will quickly realize that you want to hear more and more. She has many experiences which originate with her love of decorating, fashion, shopping and food. It’s not surprising that she started FANATIQUE_OF, a blog highlighting her lifestyle and some of her most amazing shopping and DIY adventures. One day, you may find Martine expressing her love for a new pair of shoes that she discovered in a place where no one else had thought about and on the next day, you may find yourself in an educational DIY online classroom on the edge of your seat. Since her blog is about everything she loves she named it, FANATIQUE_OF which is the French version of the English word Fanatic. She personally has a fun and friendly zeal toward fashion, décor, DIY projects, inspiration and savings

118

New York City, Hong Kong and Paris are the city’s most loved by Martine. This is where she observes the most diversity in fashion and lifestyle. To her these streets are like runways and art galleries revealing the latest trends in fashion and art. Martine (FANATIQUE_OF) is quickly making a name for herself within the fashion industry and beyond. At the pace she is going she will soon become an essential “Go-To Girl” and blogger that you invite to all your major events representing your brand. elena is a Serbian born women’s fashion designer who has catapulted her career that began as a spark of interest that she felt when she was a young teenager designing her own clothing and then commissioning a local tailor to sew it for her. Jelena’s interested turned to a career during her studies at London’s Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design. It was there that she decided to pursue her love for fashion design and went on to complete her studies at the Studio Berçot in Paris. Jelena has had the opportunity to work under famed designers such as Charles de Castelbajac and Fifi Chachnl. Her career highlights to date include debuting her Vilorja collection at L.A. A. I’ve been designing since my teenage years. I was designing for myself and I was having so much fun doing it. I’d go out a lot and I loved to dress up so I started to design my own clothes and then I’d have a local tailor make it for me. I was having so much fun and loved looking so glamorous, knowing it was my design. So when I started to design it was actually pure fun for me and it still is. Q. Are you self-taught or did you attend formal education? A. I have attended many studies. I started my fashion education at Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design in London where I completed my Fashion Design courses. This is where I fell in love with the idea of being a professional fashion designer. I then studied Costume Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade and then completed my main studies of Fashion Design at Academy Studio Berçot in Paris. Q. What interests you the most about Fashion? A. Designing, of course. The passion for de-

signing. Also the passion for researching for the ideas, for inspiration. Finding inspiration in everything… Always looking for inspiration and seeing inspiration everywhere, in so many various details, in so many different ways… During my fashion design studies in Paris, our professor, Marie Rucki, who personally knew Yves Saint Laurent very well, told us that the key of the success of Yves Saint Laurent was that he was a real “chien chasseur” for inspiration (“hunting dog” who was always hunting for inspiration). She told us that he was con-

important experience for my growth as a fashion designer. I also worked as an assistant in the creation studio of very famous Parisian designer, Jean Charles de Castelbajac, who has always been one of my favourite designers. I love his Pop Art style and his multimedia artistic work. I was also very lucky to work for one of my forever-favourite designers, famous Parisian luxury lingerie designer Fifi Chachnil. I was able to work as her main assistant for the collection that she designed for Crazy Horse Paris. Working for Fifi and Crazy Horse was such a pleasure and has had a great impact on my development as a designer.

tions! I am preparing something fantastic and very different from what you have seen so far by Vilorija! It will feature a very sexy, luxury lingerie line - and also a more casual, sweet and beautiful line with pyjamas and homewear - as well as very chic swimwear, and a complete cruise and beach collection. Q. When did you start creating your own designs? A. My first independent collection was completed during my fashion studies in Paris and I was fortunate enough to be invited to present it on Belgrade Fashion Week. Belgrade is my hometown so I was honored to present my very first produced collection here. I named my collection “All Tomorrow’s Parties”, taking inspiration from Velvet Underground’s song by the same name. My first official Vilorija collection was named “I’ll Be Your Mirror”, also named after a Velvet Underground song. With that collection I officially debuted as Vilorija at L.A. Fashion Week in 2012. I’m proud to say that my show was just before Betsey Johnson’s - what an honor! Q. How would you best describe your first designs? A. In my first official Vilorija collection “I’ll Be Your Mirror” I was playing with the contrast between romantic and futuristic. It was sweet, girly, playful with a touch of romanticism and baroque details and at the same time strict and structured with a lot of geometry and architectural details and shapes.

Our mood, attitude, lifestyle, “joie de vivre”, energy, charm and everything else can be created just by the way we dress every day… Recently I talked about it with a friend in Berlin – we were talking about my collection “Ready-To-Travel” – that I have an “idealistic idea” of women wearing beautiful dresses when they travel, looking chic and beautiful all the time,

everywhere they go - like romantic sweet women from beautiful and stylish old movies. He thinks that nowadays, unfortunately, many women are depressed, angry or too busy to take time to really look feminine and beautiful all the time. So more often they just wear what is easy and practical and fast enough… I would like women to take a little bit more time for themselves, every day. To love themselves a little bit more. To fall in love with themselves every day. To be always sweet and feminine again, like women used to be… To be ladies again. To be beautiful princesses, or queens. To feel like princesses, or queens. To feel like beautiful stylish ladies all the time. That’s why I’m inviting them to “Ready-To-Travel” with Vilorija. The ready-to-wear new Vilorija collection “Ready-to-Travel” means to look chic and beautiful all the time and to fall in love with themselves every day! Q. Which main cities would you like to see your designs sold in? A. One of the main strengths and points of Vilorija brand is that it is very international – It is very timeless, universal and elegant with feminine style which makes women look really beautiful and can be interesting everywhere in the world in different ways. There are so many cities I’d love to see my designs sold in. I’ll list some of my most favorite cities. Paris is at the top of my list. Maybe at Gallérie Lafayette in Paris? That is definitely where I would like to see my collection selling. Colette in Paris would also be a perfect place for selling Vilorija designs. New York and Tokyo would also be a great city to see my designs sold in. I think Japan would be particularly per-

fect. I’m always so inspired by Japan. In fact, you will see that there is a lot of Japanese influence in all my designs like the certain touch of the sweet Lolita style that is so gorgeous on stylish Japanese women. Vilorija collections can be very successful in the Japanese market! My collections are currently being sold in London but we are looking for more shops and places. There are so many great shops there and Vilorija style is very interesting for London!

Q. Is there anything you would you like to see change within today’s Fashion industry? A. There are so many things I’d like to see change in the fashion industry. My full answer would be a long story. Oscar Wilde once said that fashion is “a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months”. That, for example, is one of the things that I would definitely like to change as a designer. Designers’ fashion is not about the years, seasons, or their temporary trends. It’s not about running after what everyone wears in this/that season of this/that year.

My collections are based in Berlin in the beautiful Showroom and Boutique and Art Gallery Friendly Society in Mitte, the centre of Berlin. Real stylish ladies look timeless! is actually not even 5% of what I can give and what I would like to give and would be ready to give at the moment because I’m very limited with having to handle and organize the whole business and production and everything on my own, which is huge work, and not what the artist should actually do. As a designer, I have SO MUCH MORE to give at this same moment - if someone who has structured fashion business would work with me and make some strong business with my designs! That is definitely the most important message that I would like to be mentioned about me at this moment. Artists cannot do everything alone, and it is sooo hard for an artist to survive in this too fast, too instant, and unfortunately, more and more too short-vision world… That’s why some really talented artists just get lost in this world. That’s how artists can just die, disappear and wilt away in this more and more so un-artistic, un-poetic world, dominated by aggressive, instant and shallow ways of making “success” with less and less real criteria and real quality…

NOT to run and compete in this world so overwhelmed with unreasonably aggressive and competitive runners for some quick, instant, shallow, pretentious and meaningless “success”… The time flies, and quick, instant, shallow, aggressive and pretentiousness unfortunately wins and dominates in this world. Many really wonderful ideas, which could make something really beautiful and valuable in art and fashion and maybe create precious, new and fresh history, will just die...

Cut From a Different Cloth V. Mora So, you want to be a fashion designer? Truth: Many fail because of the lack of understanding of how to run a business. It takes more than schooling and artistry to become a designer. Welcome to V.Mora - the one stop for fashion designers to get the tools, sources and coaching to be most accomplished in the industry in traditional and modern form. Founder, Anna Livermore, a self-made success starting in clothing and pattern-making in 2008 that led to buying, textiles, manufacturing and proper marketing. She once wanted her own line and did patterns for clients to supplement, but it was her keen client advising that gained attention. Knowing the skill and industry first-hand coupled with international sources, she knew she could provide others direct and transparent results. Instead of her clothing collection, she started V.Mora. Chicago-based V.Mora grew and is now thriving in San Francisco and New York. Anna not only provides the development for design success, but also a keen sense of community. She is with each client every step of the way and beyond. Anna will agree, that fashion careers are not easy, but she has simplified the methods to change that - especially in technology with Optitex; a 3D digital revolution in prototyping and production. Whether you are a novice or established designer, V.Mora cuts through the red tape for designers to achieve. Everyone is cut from a ‘different cloth’ and Anna is living proof of success stemming from a trade skill. Patternmaking is still their signature service. Additionally, Anna is a certified business coach and a sought after speaker at the largest textile and manufacturing shows across the country.

here’s no denying in this world of fashion today that there may sometimes be a lack of good quality, stylish, and wearable couture clothing available for woman age 35 plus. What women wants to see her outfit on another woman in the same community while out late night or perhaps in the professional office environment? Every woman deserves access to high quality clothing designed with the best materials that makes her feel classy, look stylish, chic and a bit edgy.

Upon graduation from FIT Laura worked for about 8 years in the fashion industry, mostly for others but also doing some freelance work. She learned a huge amount about production, shipping, selling all stuff you learn on the job that you don’t learn in school! She loved it and still does! Today Laura Tanzer Clothing brand is by far one of the most exciting brands for women age 35 plus! Her grandmother may have been the first one to inspire her to sew but now after learning the fashion business she’s added others to that list: Coco Chanel 1883-1971, Paul

Couture Fashion Designer Laura Tanzer is making this all possible for the independent-minded woman. Having a jumpstart at the innocent age of 10, Laura then a “chubby” kid who really hated the clothing that her mother provided for her became more than obliged to do something about it. Since most of the clothing available for her size back then didn’t quite have the same appeal as the clothing designed for the smaller children she needed to learn how to design her own clothing. Being close to her grandmother, who lived in New York City who also taught her how to sew clothing for her Barbie doll; made all the difference in the world. Now that Laura could sew the rest as we say, “Is history”! By the time Laura started college she already had an abundance of knowledge and experience both in sewing, arts and as an artist. She has been drawing since being able to pick up a drawing tool at the early age of 3. Laura attended the prestigious Parsons School Of Design (Fashion Illustration, FIT – Fashion Institute of Technology (Fashion Design & Marketing) and NYU- New York University (Business). Even before attending all of these schools Laura began designing for others around the age of 17. She first began making clothing for her and her sister, then special occasion outfits for friends and friends of friends. Shortly after age 18 she was out on her own, living in New York attending Parsons and began designing clothing for sale.

She is also influenced by art, culture, traditions in diverse cultures such as Japan, Ancient China, Mongolia etc. Architecture, sculpture, music and photography is also a part of her influences when designing. When asked what interest Laura Tanzer most about fashion she replied, “It is unpredictable! There are cycles, and you are only as good as your most recent success, so you

are always pushed to be as creative as possible, while also balancing the saleability of your collection. Thus, there is a critical need to stay aware of the world, especially the world of your target market; stay up on the cultural influences of that market”. Laura’s personal style of dress today is modern and sophisticated just like she always wanted it to be from a little girl until now. She is truly an example of a person making a positive change for independent-minded women age 35 plus that may not be as small as the average supermodel but want to “rock” their natural curves in a quality made outfit. any are born with diverse gifts or abilities which usually have a direct influence on the profession they choose to pursue later in life. Some may be come great athletes, scientist, singers, musicians and the list goes on. Hanna Marie was truly born with the gift of modeling. When she was a little girl she continually enjoyed playing with makeup and wearing beautiful dresses. From as far back as she could reminisce, it has been her dream to become a model. Both parents were aware of her desire at an early age. Having the full support of her parents has provided her with a solid and unbreakable foundation which has led to many modeling opportunities. By the time Hanna was 8 years of age she was already signed to a small local modeling boutique. Although she didn’t get booked for many jobs at the time, it still became her first experience with

modeling. Four years later, she signed with a different boutique modeling agency in Sydney Australia where this agency proved to be more beneficial. While signed with this new agency, she enrolled in their suggested classes where she began learning the fundamentals of what it took to become a professional model. After a year or so went by, she then left that agency in Sydney and began to pursue modeling more independently. From that moment on, Hanna Marie has been modeling with self-confidence and gratefulness during each modeling event and still loves every minute of it. Not limiting herself to just one particular style of modeling allows her to fully appreciate all aspects of modeling. You may find her on the Runway in New York City during New York Fashion Week or the next day modeling for a fashion editorial, commercial print or look-book style photoshoot.

Whatever the case, you will always see her beautiful smile and feel her positive energy during and after the event. Walking down the runway is a major passion for Hanna. Fulfilling her dreams and passion for the runway has motivated Hanna Marie to participate in various fashion runway shows in Australia where she lives. She has recently walked in one of her favorite places, New York City during New York Fashion Week. To finally be able to say that she has walked internationally is a huge milestone for Hanna Marie.

of first-hand experience, which is something money can’t buy. When asked what advice she had for aspiring models she replied, “In this industry no one is going to just hand you jobs all the time. If you get turned down for one job, try for another! All famous fashion models had to start somewhere, and there’s no reason that can’t also happen for you. You have to try hard and go out and work hard for it often times not being paid! Working this way will get you firsthand experience of the industry, something money can’t buy”. I’m sure all will agree that Hanna’s hard work and perseverance is reflected throughout all of her amazing modeling portfolio.

Hanna Marie is undeniably a hard working model! She believes in getting out there and working for it! As a result of her hard work she has gotten a lot

Photographers and creative artists are so grateful when models show up to photoshoots completely fresh; it means they have less work trying to Photoshop little things you could have prevented. As a result of her preparedness, Hanna has had the opportunity to work with some amazing fashion photographers during her career so far.
