The official publication of the empire division Volume 1. Issue 8. March 2013
Happy Circle K Service Year Eve! The 2012-2013 Circle K service year has been breathtaking. Throughout the year I have had the extreme pleasure of serving the Empire Division and working closely with all of you thriving servant-leaders. I have learned and experienced so much and this past year has without a doubt prepared me for the 2013-2014 service year as I serve the mighty New York District as Governor.
Division Totals: Happy Change - $100 Holiday Social for KPLD - $85 Applebee’s Dine to Donate - $42.71 Empire Body, Mind and Service - $1,172 Total funds raised for our divisional project, the Kiwanis Pediatric Lyme Disease foundation:
$1399.71 Service
When elected my biggest goal was to unify the division and I believe that by working on our divisional project, the Kiwanis Pediatric Lyme Disease foundation, we have definitely created some strong bonds. I got to see my passion for raising funds and awareness spread throughout the division and due to a domino effect, our love for KPLD spread to the district. Because of all of our hard work and success together, you guys give me the confidence to go on. I hope that these positive feelings are reciprocated and that your efforts do not end here. Take all that you’ve gathered this year and join me in moving forward. If you are graduating, remember your time in CKI and know that it is your job to share your story so that others can create their own stories. Finally, do not forget about your friends here in CKI or myself because we will always be here supporting you.

SERVICE For the 2012-2013 service year, Empire has 1882 reported service hours. However, this does not include majority of St. John’s service hours because of their charter date. It also does not include hours for March. Please get the March MRF in before April 7th and with this submission, review your submission for each month so that we have an accurate reflection on this service year. Please note any changes you make in the additional comments section of the March MRF page.
LEADERSHIP Our members throughout the division have grown into stronger servant-leaders. All three schools have elected a full club executive board. I shall release the club presidents information now, check out the next newsletter, created by the 2013-2014 Empire Division LTG, Luis Tenorio (luis.tenorio@nycirclek.org) later on this month! FELLOWSHIP I’m sure we can all agree that each of our divisional meetings and events were memorable and considered good times. This is because they were all well attended by not only wonderful members of the division but by members outside the division and even outside the district. Empire would like to thank each member who’s supported these meetings and events. We would like to give a special thanks to Jia Shi for serving as our outstanding honorary member of Empire.
