The Southern Tier Newsletter
Introduction Welcome to my first newsletter for our lovely division, The Southern Tier (TST). In this newsletter, you will find a recap from our divisional, all of the important upcoming dates for this service year, information about our division wide service project, and updates from the New York District and Circle K International. Divisional Recap On September 28th we had our first divisional of the year at Binghamton University. At the meeting we voted that our division service hour goal is now 5,000 hours and our next divisional would be October 26th in Ithaca. We also created jugs to collect pop tabs in for our division wide service project. After the divisional, we all participated in Binghamton University Circle K’s scavenger hunt for Eliminate. We had a great time for a great cause!
TST’s Division Wide Service Project Pop Tabs for Ronald McDonald House
Pop tabs are the pieces of metal that opens aluminum cans that are made of a different type of aluminum that can be recycled more easily. We will be collecting from September 28, 2013 until February 28, 2014. After we finished collecting the pop tabs, we will bring them to The Ronald McDonald House of Central New York and cook dinner for the families there together. All of the clubs of The Southern Tier will collect the pop tabs and have designed a collection jar to collect the tabs at each of their meetings. The club that collects the most tabs will win the division wide service project trophy!
Division Service Hour Goal 5,000 hours
Be sure to report your service hours to your secretary before the 7th of each month. All of the hours you do inside and outside of Circle K count! Every hour reported counts towards our goal. Let’s serve, report, and reach this goal together! J
