To honour all the Aussie Clubfoot kids in attendance tonight, the Ringwood Hawks Men and Women’s team are wearing special Clubfoot socks. These socks have been supplied by Teamfeet Socks who are the best suppliers of Basketball team socks in Australia Aussie Clubfoot Kids was founded to provide support to families who had children born with Clubfeet, who at that stage simply had no assistance. Fortunately, thanks to the work of a few determined people, Clubfoot families are now not left behind. All the funds raised tonight will go towards a charity called “Miraclefeet.” Brady Cochrane, saw on his TV that some kids in Paraguay that had Clubfeet and clearly needed treatment. His determination has always been incredible, so he decided to raise the money to help them. He has already raised $1000s of dollars and tonight we hope to raise a few thousand more. Thanks for being an inspiration Brady (and Leigh), tonight we can help you obtain your goals to help other. It doesn't get much better than that. Lets go Hawks!!!

Says Thank You

Welcome to the Rings for Round 12 of Big V action on a special night for the Club. It’s great to be able to support Brady and his Clubfoot With no games last week due to the Queen’s Birthday long weekend break, tonight should be an interesting game against the Waverley Falcons who are currently 3rd on the ladder and have been in some great form throughout the season. Before the break, your Lady Hawks (9-3) had a tough loss against the Bulleen Boomers going down 65 to 57. Unfortunately, Cassidy Mihalko went down with a nasty injury against the Bulleen Boomers and will miss a few weeks watching from the sidelines but it gives other players especially off the bench to step up and cover Cass’s shoes. The Waverley Falcons (9-2) have been in red hot form and will be looking to continue to make a run for a top 2 finish. The Falcons are always tough opposition led by Kelly Bowen, Sam Donald, former Hawk Jackie Vanderzaag and Grace Beasley coming off the bench. We will have to play well defensively not letting them get into the paint, stopping their offensive flow, limiting their three-point shots and offensively sharing the ball around and taking those open shots. We will also be honouring the 100 game milestones for two terrific players in Piper Goldie and Inez Lie. Both girls have been fantastic players for the Club, coming through our Youth program to be keys members of our Champ Women’s squad. Congrats to you both, well deserved. I would also like to welcome the Federal member for Deakin, Michael Sukkar to tonight’s game and we hope you enjoy the evening. Tonight, will no doubt be an exciting game to watch and getting behind the Clubfoot campaign raising money for a great cause. The players and coaching staff would like to thank the sponsors, supporters for getting behind the team as well as the committee and volunteers.

A VIEW FROM THE SIDELINE with Elly We’re finally back after the Queen’s Birthday long weekend break and should be an interesting few weeks as the race to the finals heats up. Firstly, please let me welcome the Federal Member for Deakin, Mr Michael Sukkar First of all, tonight we will honour 3 Hawks stars for milestones. A massive congrats to Matt Fennell (300 th game), Piper Goldie (100th) and Inez Lie (100th) on their milestones and for being absolute superstars for the Hawks as well. Tonight should be a special night with the Clubfoot game and raising money for the special campaign. The relationship the Club has with Brady and his family is special and it is our pleasure to help Brady “Change the World” for the better tonight. Please buy some raffle tickets (Not just one buy a handful) and good luck in the massive prize draw. In the first game of the double header, the State Champ women’s team who are currently 3 rd playing against the Waverley Falcons (2nd). There’s heaps of interesting matchups to keep an eye on especially between Amanda Meinking and Kelly Bowen and between Piper Goldie and Sam Donald. The 2nd game of the double header should be another awesome game to watch with a top of the table clash with our State Champ men (who are currently 1st) playing against the Falcons who are sitting in 2nd plaace. The matchup to keep an eye on will be between Daniel Dillon and Matt Snowball who have both had an awesome season and will be worth the price of admission alone. Don’t forget on Sunday we have the Youth Boys in a very important game against McKinnon at Noon. Get down and support the boys as they try to get back in Finals contention.

Welcome to the “Rings” stadium for Round 12 Big V action. Tonight we welcome the talented Waverley Falcons who sit in second place just one game below the Hawks. Our Clubfoot night is always a great event and tonight’s game against the Falcons promises to be one of the best games of the season so far. The Falcons are loaded with talent including the recent signing of NBL star Daniel Dillon who has made an huge impact since arriving. There is a familiar face in the Falcons line up with Adrien Sturt back in Australia and playing well again. He was a key member in the Hawks Championship back in 2012. They also have plenty of depth with Brad Kelleher, Jason Reardon, Dean Neville, Chris Arkell, import JaQuez Motley and the underrated Michael Harper providing one of the most talented rosters in recent memory. The Hawks have enjoyed a week off for the Queens Birthday holiday but must be switched on and ready to go tonight. Two weeks ago, the Hawks were lacklustre in a 4 point win over Werribee and a similar performance tonight will be bad news for the Hawks. Jacob Gibson is having a great season for the Hawks and Scottie Stone has been playing well in recent weeks. Shaun Clarke is having arguably his best season in the Big V which is a big reason the team has had a solid first half of the season. Tonight we also pay tribute to our Co-Captain and Mr Reliable. Matt Fennell. Matty plays his 300th Big V Game tonight and he has been a star for the Club since arriving from Diamond Valley in 2015. He has been a popular member of the team from day one and embraced the Hawks like he had always been here. Matty has time for everyone, is a great person and a great player who has won two Big V Championships. Congrats on the 300 Game milestone Matty.. The Players and Coaching staff of the Hawks would like to thank the sponsors and supporters for being on board with the team for 2018. Enjoy the game.

Welcome back to The Rings for Round 12 of the 2018 Victorian Youth Championship Men season. Tonight, we welcome the McKinnon Cougars. The Hawks (6-10) encountered a red-hot Dandenong Rangers outfit before the long weekend. Though the boys played at their peak, it wasn’t enough to overcome the offensive juggernauts, going down by 16 (78-94). Daniel Port (12pts, 7rebs, 4asts, 3blks), Ryan Miller (19pts, 3rebs) and Matthew Roberts (17pts, 70%FG) were amongst the best for the Hawks. McKinnon (8-7) join us after overcoming the Rangers in the same weekend, just one day later. Taking advantage of a tired and undermanned outfit, the Cougars enjoyed a 2-point win (79-77). Kobe Baird (28pts) and Jordan Geer (25pts, 8rebs, 3asts) were unstoppable on the offensive end. The last time we met was round one, with the Hawks coming away with a scrappy, low-scoring win on the road. McKinnon have finals hopes to keep alive. Ringwood wish to snap their losing streak and regain some respect in the league. Good luck to both teams. The VYCM would like to thank the referees, score bench officials, committee, and supporters for their contributions.
