Meet the Officers Name: Anjika Bhalla

Anjika is in the 10th grade and is our President this year. Anjika is involved in many things outside of Key Club including: Tennis, Debate, Youth and Government, and DECA. Anjika enjoys watching One Tree Hill in her spare time. Her favorite Key Club activity is selling Candy Grams.
Satya is in the 10th grade and is our Vice President for the 2016-2017 Key Club year. Satya is involved in DECA and loves playing basketball. Satya’s favorite movie is Tangled, and her favorite ice cream flavor is cookies and cream. Her favorite service project with Key Club is Kids Against Hunger! Satya is super excited for this upcoming Key Club year and is excited to serve you!
P.S. Her favorite candy is Sour Patch Kids.

Macy is in 10th grade and will be one of our Secretaries this year. Macy is involved with her church, HOSA, FCA, and Cross Country outside of school. Macy’s favorite Key Club activity is Kids Against Hunger and her favorite candy is Dark Chocolate.
Melissa is in the 10th grade and will be one of our secretaries this year. Melissa is involved in several things outside of Key Club including: Orchestra, and other volunteering outside of Key Club. Melissa works during her spare time and likes to spend time enjoying her youth. Melissa enjoys getting to be directly involved with all of the members.

Keaton is in the 10th grade and is the Editor for our club this year. Keaton is involved in theatre, NHS, and his church choir. His favorite Key Club activity is Kids Against Hunger, and getting to be involved with you has the members.
Grace Zhou is in the 9th grade and is our Treasurer this year. Grace is involved in Orchestra outside of Key Club. Her favorite Key Club activity is Kids Against Hunger and she looks forward to serving you over the next year!

Mrs. Miller was born and raised in California and has lived in Arizona, and Texas. She has been teaching for 25 years. Mrs. Miller’s favorite thing about Key club is that it is entirely student led and she loves getting to see students come together and change the world!
Ankit is a junior at IHS and will be our Public Relations Officer this year. Ankit is also involved in Band. Ankit’s favorite Key Club event is Kids Against Hunger. He looks forward to serving you as the Public Relations Officer this year!
A native Texan, Mrs. Hippler cannot imagine living anywhere other than the “Lone Star State”. She has been teaching for 25 years and has been directly involved in Key Club for 17 of those years. Mrs. Hippler most enjoys watching students become life-long community service volunteers.

Pictures At the last meeting of the school year, students went into the school and asked their peers to donate to the Kids Against Hunger organization in an effort to raise money to host another event here at HIS. Students raised a total of $36.67!
At the Back-to-Summer social, we officially said goodbye to our old officers, and welcomed our new officers for the 2016-2017 school year! The officers were installed by our Division 2 North Lieutenant Governor, Ish Patel from the Allen High School Key Club!

Our amazing Kiwanis sponsors from the Allen Kiwanis Club! Allen Kiwanis has done an AMAZING job of taking care of us, and making sure that we have the tools to be as successful as possible as a club!

Students a game at the Back-to-Summer social that requires them to grab, and keep as many games as they can without letting them hit the ground, or letting them pop!
(RIGHT) Students have a gift exchange with summer items costing $5 or less! The rules of the exchange were that when the music stopped, the gift in your hand was the gift you received! (LEFT) We honor the former officers that are seniors of the class of 2016. They each received a picture frame with the picture from our Key Club Chartering Ceremony!

Dear IHS Key Club, Our newsletter can only be fun, and informative with your participation! Without you, why have a newsletter? As a club, we really need you! So, please fill out the Mystery Member google form, submit articles based on the prompts for each month (You get service hours for this!), and have fun. You are only in high school once, so why not make the best of it? It only takes a few minutes to do all of these things, so why not help the club out? Let’s go out and serve the community together!

Article Prompts for this Month: -How do you plan to carry the Key Club mission (Caring… our way of life!) with you on your summer adventures? -Do you have ideas for service projects? Let us know what they are, and explain how it could be executed.
Rules for Writing Articles: If you would like to earn hours, write a 400+ word article and include at least 1 picture on one of the following prompts: For every article submitted (Limit= 1 article per prompt per person) you will receive 30 minutes credit. If it selected to be featured in our local newsletter, you will receive an additional 30 minutes credit. If your article is featured in the district newsletter, you will receive an additional 30 minutes credit. (This is a monthly opportunity. Remember to look here for next month’s article prompts.) **Articles must be submitted to me by the 28th of every month! (Send to keaton.hippler.324@k12.friscoisd.org) If you have read to this point, let me know by emailing me at keaton.hippler.324@k12.friscoisd.org The first 10 people, will receive a prize at our first meeting of the year! **You must be at the meeting to get your prize.
