A Fridge Funny
Some guy bought a new fridge for his house. To get rid of his old fridge, he put it in his front yard and hung a sign on it saying "Free to good home, You want it -- you take it." For three days the fridge sat there without even one person looking twice at it. He eventually decided that people were too un-trusting of this deal - looks to good to be true - so he changed the sign to read "Fridge for sale $50." The next day someone stole it.

A National Retail Federation poll conducted by Prosper Insights shows that the average consumer plans to spend $935.58 during the Christmas shopping season this year. If any of that spending is done with credit cards, it can complicate the holidays in a hurry. Since using plastic doesn’t hurt as much as spending cash, you’ll probably purchase more stuff than you planned. That $935.58 could easily turn into turn into $1,200 or more before you know it. And it’s tough to enjoy looking at holiday lights around the neighborhood, or watching Charlie Brown direct the Christmas play, with a voice in your head warning you about bills that are piling up. Why not leave your cards out in the cold this year, and commit to a credit-free Christmas? Check out how Christmas without credit will put a Santa-sized smile on your face: 1. Less Holiday Stress Anxiety melts away when you opt for cash instead of cards because you know to stop spending when the money runs out. Even if you can’t buy everything you want, you’ll hardly notice. You’ll be too busy feeling relieved about not having to make a payment next month. 2. No Interest Paid Nada. Zilch. Zip. That’s how much money you pay in interest and fees when you stay away from credit cards. You don’t have to worry about that $40 sweater you bought for your best friend costing $55 come January. 3. No Risk of Being Hacked Target, TJ Maxx, Home Depot — there’s a shopping list of stores whose databases have been breached by hackers. The thieves steal credit and debit card numbers and do a little Christmas shopping of their own. Use cash and don’t make yourself . . . a target. 4. Surprises Aren’t Given Away You may want to keep a gift for your spouse secret until Christmas morning. After all, that’s why we use wrapping paper! But it’s too easy for them to check the credit card website and see where you did your shopping. Stick with cash, and keep a good poker face until December 25th. 5. Nothing to Pay Off Next Year It’s a bummer to carry a balance on your card for that American Girl doll or stuffed Minion gift while you’re clothes shopping for the new school year. So, nix your credit cards. Your budget will thank you for it. Switching from credit cards to cash for the holidays seems weird, doesn’t it? But once you see how much easier it is to enjoy the festivities without credit, you’ll probably want to see how it will make January and February easier … then before you know it, your next Christmas! —Used with permission from DaveRamsey.com

Ramblings of a Conservative
Cow Doctor by Krayton Kerns, DVM, former State Rep. HD 58
The Biggest Winner Progressivism was the biggest loser of this recent election, so now to the biggest winner. Contrary to what appears obvious, it is not Donald Trump. Yes, he became the president-elect with a whopping 306 electoral votes, but he is hardly the biggest winner. Think about it. Prior to filing for office, he owned a prosperous company, had successfully raised a herd of children who have given him, are giving him, and will give him a wagon load of grandchildren. He has a Proverbs 31 wife properly focused on rearing their 10-yearold son, Barron, yet he swapped all this to subject himself and his family to years of vile, public ridicule. Thank God for patriots like Donald Trump who put country above self. So who was the biggest winner in the 2016 election? It is the dream called America; the truly
exceptional idea that all men are created equal by a Creator who endowed them with the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Amen, hallelujah, praise the Lord! It is noteworthy these tenets of liberty are polar opposite to the restraints of progressivism, hence the conflict between the biggest winner and loser. The Donald cannot, nor should not, restore our republic alone, so every red blooded patriot regardless their sex, race, creed, religion or national origin must join forces to subdue our oppressive government. Have you noticed the sun shining brighter since November 8th? I have. With patriots rallying to the cause, America can once again become the land of opportunity, but it won’t be easy. Thomas Paine warned us in his 1776, American Crisis:
Todd Mord Trucking: For Rent: Basement office Livestock and flatbed space, across from Hill Co. trailers. Call 406-357- Courthouse. $900/mo. Call 11-II 4190 or 399-2608. 11-II Steve 406-262-3199.
“Objects we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly. 'Tis dearness only which gives everything its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price on its goods and it seems strange indeed so celestial an article such as freedom not be highly rated.” The yearning to escape from under a tyrannical ruling class is uniting American patriots from coal mines, clear cuts, assembly lines, lumber mills, oil fields, railyards, steel mills, shopping malls, rangelands and feedlots. This unification of dissimilar forces in the defense of liberty was seen in 1776, when the British watched the colony’s wealthiest citizens like Hancock and Washington align with the impoverished likes of Knox and Paine. Then as now, together we will restore the dream called America, not because it is easy, but because it is worth it.
