Havre’s Kmart to Close in Late September In late June, Missy Pomerantz, Sears Holdings Corporation’s Communications Director, announced that Havre’s Kmart store will be closing. According to Pomerantz, Kmart’s closing is part of larger efforts to “streamline” the company’s operations and to focus on the best performing stores. Given that focus, Havre’s Kmart will close in late September 2018, and liquidation sales will begin as early as July 12. “Eligible associates impacted by the store closure will receive severance and will have the opportunity to apply for open positions at area Kmart or Sears stores,” Pomerantz said. In recent weeks, fifteen underperforming Kmart stores from New Jersey to Oregon have been slated for closure. This announcement follows close on the heels of the press release on April 17 when Bon-Ton Stores, Incorporated announced the closure of several stores, including Herberger’s in the Holiday Village Mall in Havre.
