Loan Deficiency Payments (LDPs) Loan Deficiency Payments (LDPs) are available when the CCC-determined market repayment rate is below the commodity loan rate. Crop year 2019 lentils and chickpeas have reached LDP levels and wheat HRS is close to LDP levels. LDP rates for lentils are announced weekly and rates for wheat and feed grain commodities are announced daily. LDPs are only available on a commodity after the commodity is harvested, or sheared if wool or mohair, or extracted if honey. Approved storage is not required for commodities to be eligible for LDP. If an LDP payment is requested, a producer agrees to forego obtaining a loan on the same quantity. LDP applications can be filed in person, by fax or electronically through the eLDP process using the multipart form CCC-633EZ. The CCC-633 EZ is a multi-part form. Page 1 is filed as an intention to request LDP benefits. It must be filed each crop year and will cover all farms and commodities in which a producer has an interest for the 2019 crop year. For Direct Delivery LDPs Page 1 and page 2 must be filed before beneficial interest is lost in the commodity. For all other LDPs pages 2-4 will be filed when a payment is requested. The current version of the form and only one accepted by CCC is dated May 21, 2019. The completion of page 1 does not cause a producer to lose loan eligibility for the commodity. The option of obtaining a loan is maintained until an LDP payment request is filed. Page 2 of the form is used to request the LDP payment for wheat, feed grains, oilseeds, pulse crops and honey. Page 4 is used to request mohair, wool and unshorn pelt LDP payments. Page 2 and page 4 of the application must be filed in the county FSA office that maintains the farm records for the farm that produced the requested commodity. To check the LDP rates, producers can access the rates at: https://www.fsa.usda.gov/programs-and-services/ price-support/Index If searching for the “Pulse Crop LDP Rates” spreadsheet, navigate to the Lentils page. The rate for Montana is in the column labeled East.

In a recent Three Secrets For Increasing Profit® workshop I asked participants how much profit they want to make. It is an important question because you can’t hit a target that doesn’t exist and it’s impossible to build an intelligent plan unless you have measurable goals. But it’s an unfair question too. It’s unfair because it is impossible to know how much you want unless you first decide what your profit is for. It could be for paying dividends to owners (not the same as salary) or a profit share to employees. You could make charitable donations or gift it to people. It could be used to pay down debt, build reserves, invest in infrastructure or expand the ranch. It could be invested off the ranch. To get people thinking about what they should do with profit I asked each participant to imagine that they made $1,000,000 profit this year. Then I asked them to describe how they would use the money to improve their business and their life. Nearly everyone said they would pay off debt, build infrastructure or expand the ranch. I didn’t hear anyone say anything about investing any of it off the ranch. Pumping it all back into the ranch could spell trouble. It might be smart to pay down debt, especially high interest, shortterm debt. But it might be even smarter to invest in some income generating investments (e.g. rental units) and use that income to pay down debt. That way when the debt is gone, you still have income. Those off-ranch income generating investments come in pretty handy in drought. Expenses don’t stop just because you’ve destocked. Investing off ranch also creates better options for management succession and asset transfer. Investments might be used to build a retirement portfolio so that you aren’t financially dependent on the ranch and don’t become a burden to the next generation when they assume management. Those investments could also be used to pay estate taxes or to build assets to pass on to off-ranch heirs, leaving the intact ranch to the family members who are going to run it. If you don’t have a profit target, it would be a useful exercise for you and your family, or your business partners, to work through the exercise I had the workshop participants complete. If you inherited, or made a profit of $1,000,000, what would be the smartest way to deploy it to improve your business and your life? That is a good way to start a discussion about what your profit is for and to establish a profit target. Enjoying Everyday Life Joyce Meyer
Press On to Better Things Many years ago, when God gave me a revelation of His promise for my life in John 10:10, it was literally life-changing. The truth that Jesus came “that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]” (AMP) gave me a determination to no longer settle for just barely getting by in my everyday life. As I became more serious about my relationship with God and discovered how to really “do life” with Him, the more I experienced the peace and joy that only Jesus can give. And it made me passionate about helping others take hold of everything God has for their lives, too. So many people are hurting, struggling to find joy, peace and fulfillment. They’re missing out on the good plan God has for them because they don’t know that He wants them to have life in Christ “to the full, till it overflows” now, in this life. Sadly, many who get this realization often settle for less than God’s best because it requires determination and diligence to get there. Hard Things Can Bring Good Results These days, with all the modern technology we have, it’s easy to be lazy and expect to just glide through life. Some people don’t have the tenacity to press through challenges because so much of life is automated and convenient. I remember when simply making a phone call required some effort. And when I first started studying the Bible and teaching, it was quite a job to put even one message together because we didn’t have the Internet to get all of our information from. We like things to be easy, but when things are too easy, it isn’t necessarily good for us because we lack perseverance and determination to press through them. When hard times and challenges come (and they will come), we will need to do some pressing or we’ll give up. Never Give Up! When I talk about “pressing,” what I mean is we have to press against the pressure that’s coming against us, holding us back from doing what God is leading us to do. For example, maybe you’ve experienced rejection, betrayal, abandonment, injustices, discouragement or disappointment. You need to forgive someone, but it feels impossible to do it and move on. In His Word, God says, “If you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins” (Matthew 6:15 NIV). And in John 13:34, Jesus says, “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” Romans 12:21 clearly says, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” You may be thinking, “Joyce, it’s too hard. You don’t know what they did to me!” I understand. And I know it’s not easy to press through your pain and fear to do what God is showing you to do. It took time and determination for me to forgive my father for abusing me and my mother for knowing about it but not having the courage to get me out of that situation. But God helped me to do it, and ultimately, it set me free to move forward in His call on my life to minister to people all over the world. Press Past Feelings and Put Your Trust in God The key to getting your breakthrough is making a determined decision to press past the pain of feelings and do what you know you should do even while you’re hurting. In other words, you can’t wait until you feel like doing what is right. God wants you to move forward in His plan for your life. But the only way you are going to do that is by starting now to do what you need to do, the things you’ve been putting off because you don’t feel like doing them. Choose to believe that by God’s grace and with His help, you can do what you know in your heart you should do, not just what feels good. If you’re struggling with this, let me encourage you. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose…]” (AMP). And 2 Peter 1:3 (NIV) says that God’s “divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” Whatever your challenge may be—getting out of debt, strengthening your marriage, pursuing a new job, getting in better physical health, etc.—God’s grace can empower you to do it. Ask Him to help you. Trust Him to be with you, and start taking steps of faith, doing what you know you can do today. Press on to the great things Jesus came to give you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For more on this topic, order Joyce’s four-CD series Sit, Stand, Walk, Run. 3 Ways to Save Big Money on Halloween By Rachel Cruze
‘Tis the season for fake spiders, light-up ghosts, tiny candy bars, and tacky costumes. All that Halloween stuff can make your bank account balance look downright scary! So, let’s talk about three simple tips for saving money on Halloween. Don’t buy name-brand candy There was a time in my life when I was overly concerned with being the “cool” house on the block. You know, the one with the really legit, exciting candy at Halloween—maybe even some full-size candy bars. But when I saw the price tag at the store, that need to impress the neighbors left quick. I thought, Nope! Sorry, cute neighbor kids. You’re getting the generic brand. I can buy a huge bag of it for half the price! If you’re on a tight budget, don’t feel pressured to splurge and get the expensive candy. The kids will get plenty, and they’ll all be on sugar highs anyway, so they’ll never know the difference. Scale back on Halloween parties Halloween parties are pretty elaborate these days with huge spreads of food, amazing costumes, and even signature cocktails. If you’re hosting or attending one, just be wise with what you spend. After all, Halloween is just one day! If you’re hosting, ask your guests to bring a dish to share. Set a budget for yourself on party supplies and decorations, and stick to it! If you’re attending someone else’s party, don’t feel pressured to bring the fanciest bottle of wine or go overboard with buying the most impressive costume. You don’t want to go into November stressed out about overspending on this one day. You can decide not to celebrate Halloween Okay, I honestly don’t love Halloween. Not for any spiritual or moral reason, it’s simply because I’m not creative. And I’m terrible at coming up with costumes! Thankfully, my girls usually want to be princesses. That’s something Amazon can fix. But I dread the day when they want something more imaginative. I’m not the mom who just whips up a costume out of odds and ends in my craft closet. But guess what? No one says we must celebrate Halloween. There’s no shame or guilt in a graceful no if Halloween doesn’t fit your budget this year. If you sit this holiday out, you’ll save so much money on candy, costumes, and ugly plastic partywear. Plus, you’ll save time and energy! You can always jump back in next year, when you have room in your budget.
