n 18 year-old college youth, Ajay Lotan Rakme, has been allegedly beaten to death with an iron rod over a fight for just Rs 400 at Sangharsh Nagar locality in Chandivali on Wednesday night. He had borrowed the money from one of the prime accused, Pravin Rajendra Rathod. The other two accused have been
identified as Amol Balaji Nagar and Akash Ravindra Sardar alias Mogli, Sakinaka police said. Police say the deceased Ajay Lotan Rakme was sitting outside his building in Sangharsh Nagar, when prime accused Pravin came and demanded his Rs 400 back, which Ajay had taken on credit. However, he refused to pay up and a heated argument ensued, which ulti-
mately culminated in a physical brawl. His two other friends Amol and Akash joined him and assaulted him with an iron rod. “Ajay died due to serious injuries sustained by him. The accused have been booked under sections 302 and 340 of the IPC and produced before the magistrate who had remanded them to police custody,” police added.
