Yakub's wife and daughter had arrived early in the morning. When lodged in Mumbai's Arthur Road jail in barrack number 10 in the year 1999, Yakub had tried to explain his innocence by penning a handwritten letter in English to the then Chief Justice of India (CJI) at around 3am in the morning.
