Kashmiri native was intercepted by personnel of the Central Industrial Reserve Force (CISF), who nabbed him from within a restricted area after he entered from Orange Gate and was about to exit from the New Yellow Gate, which is the entry point to the city. He was handed over to Yellow Gate police station for further investigations on Thursday evening. Mohamad Jamid Malik (30)

claims he is teacher in a government school in Kashmir, and his father Ibrahim Malik is a government servant. The Anti Terrorism Squad is also investigating and interrogating Malik. The police officials said that Malik was intercepted while he was trying to exit from the New Yellow Gate which is completely restricted, and not allowed for civilians. Shockingly, no one intercepted him at the Orange Gate and therefore he proceeded fur-

ther ahead, said the cops. Malik claimed he had mistakenly entered the area and he was heading towards a masjid in Dongri where he has been keeping his luggage. He told police that someone misguided him saying there was a shortcut to Dongri from Orange Gate. Malik is resident of Ahlam Patry in Kashmir which comes under Alham Gadol police station over there. The CISF handed him over to Yellow Gate police who jointly grilled him with the ATS.

He told his interrogators that he came to Mumbai to get the syllabus of the International Islamic School as he is planning to open a school in his hometown in Kashmir. The police said after leaving Kashmir, Malik went to Delhi, then to Deoband in UP, and from there to Aurangabad. He later came to Mumbai and resided in a masjid in Dongri, where he kept his luggage. to chart its own path. “Such an ultimatum will not work and NCP is free to go its own way,” he said. A meeting of the senior NCP leaders was held to take stock of the party’s preparedness for the Lok Sabha elections. The issue of seat sharing with the Congress was discussed with many leaders expressing dis-

gard to seat sharing. We will wait for another two to three days and later discuss future strategy in our party meeting. There are multiple options before us.” However, he declined to divulge further details on this issue. The NCP is insisting on 22:26 seat Continued on pg 8 «

he ambitious Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayi Arogya Yojana (RGJAY) had brought welcome relief for 51-year-old rickshaw driver, Sukhdeo Suryanshi, who suffers from chronic renal failure for the past three years and needs dialysis treatment twice a week. A resident of Bhayandar, Suryavanshi underwent free dialysis once at a private hospital empanelled under RGJAY. However, his relief was shortlived as the private hospital, along with several other empanelled medical intuitions in the twin-city, has reportedly backedoff from the State Government’s free healthcare scheme. Now, Suryavanshi is amongst hundreds of other poor patients who will have to continue to struggle in their fight for survival. Several hospitals had voluntarily empanelled themselves in the health insurance scheme, how-

Patient Sukhdeo Suryavanshi ever, leaving aside a couple of multi super specialty medical institutions including Bhakti Vedanta and Umrao Hospitals, most have decided to back-off. The reason is that these hospitals feel that the price list offered by the government is extremely impractical and ridiculously low. Continued on pg 8 «
