NOT SO GOOD AT 88.03% Mumbai registers rise of 11% in HSC results, even as state records its highest at 90%

ven though Mumbai has registered an 11 per cent hike as compared to last year, it has come in last among the state's nine divisions. Mumbai’s pass percentage in HSC results this year is recorded at 88.03 per cent as against 76.81 per cent last year. The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) declared the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Board examinations results yesterday for about 12 lakh students from across Maharashtra who appeared from 7,682 centres in February this year. The overall pass percentage of Maharashtra
was better than last years' 83.47 per cent, jumping up by about 7 per cent and recording a solid 90.03 per cent. Within the nine divisions of the state board, the Konkan division stood the highest with 94.85 per cent, followed by Amravati 91.85 per cent and Kolhapur with 91.54 per cent. Mumbai, however, stands last among the nine divisions. Navi Mumbai, including Thane and Raigad, recorded a 93.01 pass percentage. Yet again, the girls have outshone the boys in all the divisions. course (MCVC) topped with 94.53 per cent, followed by the Science stream with 90.71 per cent, Commerce with 87.91 per cent and Arts with 84.64 per cent. Though Mumbai stood last in most of the rankings, it has recorded 28,781 students with distinctions, the highest number among the nine divisions. Also, it did complete the examinations with the lowest incidents of malpractice. Nashik recorded 326 copycats, followed by Pune with 75 and Amravati with 69 copycats. and www.khelmasti.com, through which they happened to get caught. They were arrested from a house in Hindustan Naka, Kandivali (E), said police officials.
