INTERESTED IN SAFETY Why wouldn’t you be?

In this article we are going to focus on helmets and specifically ARAI. Your head/brain is one of the few parts of your body you can’t do without. You can live without a limb but no head equals NO LIFE! When we first became involved with Arai, which goes back many many years, we already knew they were a top quality helmet but what we didn’t know at that time was just how good they were. It’s not until you understand the philosophy and see the lengths that they go to in the manufacturing process that you really appreciate what an incredible helmet ARAI is. I hope in this article I can pass on this information. For those of you that already own an ARAI you will have some understanding of the product.

If cost is the most important element, how much is a head worth?

Whether you ride a scooter, a road bike or a racer the importance of being protected does not change. Therefore why wouldn’t you want the best protection available.

Unfortunately there are some people who think that because they have a cheap bike or a small scooter that a cheap helmet will do the job.

Well it won’t! If you come off your scooter at 60KPH and hit your head it is no different than coming off a Super Bike at the same speed.

So what makes ARAI Different?

The Drive for Perfection Each and every Arai helmet must go through five separate quality-control checks. This is not just spot checking one in every 100 or one in every 10, it is every single helmet.

The first after the shell is made where it is manually checked all over with a special testing gauge to ensure uniform thickness and weight.

The next is after painting and graphic completion. Another after assembly and two in process inspections. We are not aware of any other manufacturer that goes to this extent to ensure the quality of their product. .

ARAI is not some massive corporation run by ever changing management teams, all which have one thing in common: more profits and cheaper production costs.

Fact is: ARAI is pretty much the opposite in every way.

An ARAI helmet isn’t manufactured on a fast rolling, computer and robot operated production belt. Every ARAI helmet is virtually 100% handmade. It takes up to 18 hours to make each helmet.

That is why ARAI alone makes helmets for different head shapes, with up to five different size outer shells, removable inner liners and cheek pads and even the Emergency Release system (in the above photo) for added safety.
