In Podhale

In Lesser Poland, at the foothills of the Tatras, a vast land inhabited by Highlanders from Podhale stretches. The region is famous for breathtaking views, unique nature, culture, dances and music. In the west of Podhale, halfway between Babia Mountain and Rysy, Czarny Dunajec is located and together with fourteen villages scattered over the Czarny Dunajec Valley creates one of the biggest communes in Poland. Its inhabitants cultivate the land and are active in tourism. This is an ideal place for

tourists who look for intimate places, far from crowds. Agritourism farms and private accommodation facilities allow us to see the culture of Podhale from the inside. Highlanders from Podhale live in the spirit of tradition. There are numerous folk bands and events which promote the local culture and art or even whole villages which are living museums. Small Chochołów is an example of such a small, open-air museum – beautiful, historic, wooden houses are to be found there.

Where can we have the best burger in Podhale? In Dziki

Byk (the Wild Bull) in Czarny Dunajec of course! The burgers, whose taste one will never forget, are fried in the scenery of picturesque views of Podhale. Skilled cooks choose ideal, always fresh ingredients and fluffy rolls

baked on order. They passionately crown everything with sauces. Yum-yum!

Dziki Byk Restaurant has climatic interiors in which we can spend time with friends, our family or alone with an excellent burger.

Menu

Dziki Byk offers classic beef burgers with ingredients perfectly known to all amateurs of this dish or regional burgers served with oscypek and cranberry for instance. There are also more extravagant versions – with blue cheese, peri-peri, beets, eggs or pumpkin seeds. If you prefer chicken, you choose zKURczyBYK or

cheddaroKUR which are prepared with chicken tenderloin. Each burger can be enriched with additional meat, coated cheese, vegetables or sauces. If your mouth has not started watering yet, think of side dishes – golden chips and aromatic onion rings.

Grilled baguettes and BULLdogs BULLdogs

If you prefer grilled baguettes, Dziki Byk has prepared something for you. There are classic grilled baguettes with mushrooms, onion and mozzarella, a shepherd version with oscypek, cranberry and bacon and ‘Masny Zapieks z Bockiem’ i.e. a crispy baguette with bacon, mozzarella, cheddar, salami and bbq sauce.

Hot-dog fans will have their favourite delicacy at Dziki Byk in the French style (a sausage, a bun and sauce) or the American one with various ingredients always in a freshly baked bun.

Beverages

A variety of drinks are served with dishes out of which craft beer from Poland and Czechia is the top dog. The selection is truly wide – probably the widest in Podhale. Amateurs of non-alcoholic drinks will also be pleased.

Vegetarians

Vegetarians will find something for themselves at Dziki Byk as well. Apart from classic toppings, burgers instead of beef have coated cheese or quinoa&bean burgers. A freshly baked roll is obviously a must.

Beach volleyball, billiards and board games

After or before a meal (to whet one’s appetite) one can have a game of beach volleyball at Dziki Byk. There is also an entertaining arbour with billiards, board games and darts. This

is an ideal spot to spend time with family or friends knowing this time will be crowned with a delicious feast.
