At the foot of the Tatras

Podhale and Orawa Highlanders – people of rich and living traditions – dwell in a vast plain spreading at the foot of the Tatra Mountains and Babia Mountain. They inhabit numerous villages including the ones within Czarny Dunajec Commune which lies in the valley of the Czarny Dunajec River.
Czerwienne is a small village in Czarny Dunajec Commune, in the centre of Podhale, between Zakopane (13 km) and Nowy Targ (12 km). It is surrounded by nature and plenty of attractions. The first records about the place date back to 1595. There are many legends and local histories on how the village was created and why it is
called Czerwienne. According to one of them, the name was supposed to be derived from red sunrises and sunsets (‘czerwony’ means red in Polish) whereas another one claims that it was derived from red clay on Czerwona Mountain (Red Mountain) on the border between Czerwienne and Ratułów. A different one says that the place owes its name to the autumn look of the village. In autumn borders between fields are covered with hawthorns which have red fruit. It is difficult to decide which one is the true one but one thing is sure – the village can boast of beautiful views which are inspiring even for its inhabitants.
Baranek Holiday Lodge (Lamb Holiday Lodge) is a relatively new place on a tourist map of Podhale. Its location will definitely appeal both to amateurs of winter craze and the ones who enjoy peace and quiet. The facility is situated on Budz, hence, it is close to CzerwienneSki Station. Forests, fields and the Mały Rogoźnik Stream are
in proximity. From the windows, breathtaking panoramas stretch.

Baranek Holiday Lodge offers spacious, modern rooms where guests will definitely feel comfortable. Thanks to Highlander touches in the design, we will not forget that we are staying in Podhale.

A comfortable stay at Baranek

Baranek Holiday Lodge has 2-, 3- and 4-person rooms. All of them are of a high standard and have a private bathroom with a hairdryer and towel, a fridge, a Smart TV and a kettle. Their design refers to Podhale in the form of sheep peeking at us from photos on the walls or towels which are arranged in the shape of a sheep. After all, Podhale does not exist without these animals!
Baranek serves a delicious buffet breakfast. Moreover, the Regional Restaurant and Pizza Place on Budz is at a stone’s throw – at the place we can taste a wide range of regional or bar dishes and pizza.
Wi-fi is available in the whole building free of charge. There is also a room with table tennis, a room with home entertainment and a huge sofa which is at guests’ disposal.

Podhale full of attractions
Baranek Holiday Lodge is located in an ideal place as it is close to a number of interesting attractions and still it is a peaceful place. In search of views, we can go to Bachledówka from which magnificent views of the Tatras, the Gorce, the Pieniny and the Żywiec Beskid with majestic Babia Mountain spread. Bachledówka Hill is a great spot for a short walk. There is also the Monastery of Pauline Fathers – a real treat for amateurs of Podhale architecture.
The place is also near thermal swimming pools or cult Zakopane. Cyclists will definitely appreciate numerous

trails which are a part of the Cycling Route around the Tatras. Hiking enthusiasts may treat Czerwienne as a great starting point for trips into the mountains.

Within a 15-minute drive there is one of the most interesting places in Podhale i.e. the largest complex of boglands in the Carpathians and the multimedia Museum of Peatlands in Chochołów which presents information on the creation and functioning of boglands in a modern way. Chochołów is also a treat for enthusiasts of wooden architecture and history – there are beautiful, wooden houses and the Museum of Chochołów Uprising.

Something for winter sports fans

If we feel like skiing, we can wear our skiing boots already in the lodge as CzerwienneSki Station is next door. What is more, Baranek has its own skiing and snowboarding
rental. Sleds are available as well! What is more, guests get a 30% discount for the equipment! The facility also has its own skiing school for younger and older skiers.
