Rabka – not only for children
Located in a valley, between mountains and on their slopes, Rabka-Zdrój is a small but popular spa surrounded by tiny villages inhabited by Rabka Highlanders. Mountain trails which run into the Gorce, the Island Beskids or Podhale, cycling trails, Highlander folklore, the cuisine, museums and galleries of regional art, an amusement park, historic trains, skiing slopes – the commune attracts visitors with a number of diverse attractions aimed various groups of people. There are plenty of peaceful trails which abound in mushrooms, quiet, wooden temples and fast carousels.
Brines are the biggest, natural treasure of the commune –they were the reason why the spa has been created in this place. Rabka-Zdrój became famous as a place for the youngest health visitors and in 1996 it was given a title ‘the Town of Children of the World’. However, it offers a lot to adults as well. Brines are used in a variety of ways in Rabka – in numerous treatments which are conducted in sanatoria and hotels with treatment facilities. Moreover, there is a brine graduation tower in the Spa Park and the Mineral Water Pump Room. Mountains which surround the town create an exceptional microclimate which is of great assistance in the treatment of various diseases.
