KROC CHURCH KROC CHURCH SUNDAYS AT 10AM

KROC CHURCH

Kroc Church is a place where community members from all walks of life gather to study the Bible, worship God, spend time with friends and serve the community in many ways. We aim to be followers of Jesus 24/7, and Sunday mornings, we have an opportunity to gather together and worship as a family.

ENCOURAGE, EQUIP & ENGAGE: OUR CHURCH DNA

At Kroc Church, we Encourage, Equip & Engage(E3) on a daily basis as we strive to glorify God with our lives. THE BENEFITS OF AQUATIC EXERCISE:

• Buoyancy: This water property allows people to do exercises that are difficult on land. Depending on the water level you will only be impacting 20-25% of your body weight. No pounding or jarring, just less impact.

ADULT LEARN TO SWIM Sponsored by US Masters Swim According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 37% of American adults cannot swim the length of a pool, which puts them at risk of being one of the ten people who drown every day in the United States. Participants will work one on one with trained instructors who provide a safe and comfortable setting to learn swim strokes and water safety skills.

AQUATIC EXERCISE

MORNING MASTERS SWIM

MON/WED, 6 CLASSES

Interested in taking a Deep Water exercise class but feeling a little timid? Come explore the deep water in a safe, friendly environment where you will learn the basics to working out in the deep end. We will go over how to use the buoyancy belts, introduce you to the base moves, and how to maintain the correct posture, allowing you the confidence to walk into any deep water class.

• Resistance: There is continual resistance to every move you make. The water alone offers 12% - 14% more resistance than when you exercise on land. No equipment is necessary to increase strength. • Heart Rate: The hydrostatic pressure of water pushes equally on all body surfaces and helps the heart circulate blood by aiding blood flow back to the heart. This results in lower blood pressure and heart rates during deep-water exercise verses similar exercise on land. Consequently, your heart rate is an estimated 10-15 beats lower per minute during suspended water exercise than for the same effort applied on land. • Cooling Effects: Water disperses heat more efficiently, so there is less chance of overheating. The water continuously cools the body. Exercise in the water is cooler and more comfortable than it is on land.

" MAKE UP YOUR MIND, BE AWARE OF YOUR LIMITATIONS AND PUT ONE FOOT IN FRONT OF THE OTHER." That is some sound advice shared by Clayton Ostergren, a 5 year Kroc Center member, whose goal is to be fit for the rest of his life. Clayton has logged more than 300 sessions on ActivTrax – it would be more, he clarifies, but for going to Arizona in the winter months. Clayton was a college wrestler, was in ROTC and served his country - first in the Air Force and then in the Navy. During his 21 year military career he stayed relatively fit, however, upon retirement, Clayton noticed a decline in his overall wellness. His neighbor recommended he check out The Kroc; he did, and the rest is history! During his first visit, Sean Andrews, a Kroc Trainer, led Clayton through an initial fitness evaluation and set up a program in the weight room. “I thought I would enjoy the weight room side of the gym, but I started to develop too many muscles,” reflects Clayton. Instead he shared that Sean suggested he try the ActivTrax program, to find the perfect personal fitness program. “The great part was that Sean was right there leading me through the transition.” ActivTrax is a computer-generated program which allows members to create the workout that is just right for them, and allows users to track progress, meet goals, and set new challenges. “It’s like having a buddy guiding you through the exercises. It takes away the intimidation”, exclaims Clayton. “ActivTrax logs your workouts and increases or decreases the intensity depending on the information recorded during each workout.” Along with ActivTrax, Clayton has added some cardio to his 3 day a week schedule. Since beginning the program, he’s lost more than 50 pounds! Consistency, accountability, variety, tracking and of course the incredible staff at The Kroc encouraged his success. “I’m pushing 72 and I feel great! The highlight of my day is the walk to the car. I now have bounce in my step."
