KROC CHURCH

A place where all types of people from different walks of life gather to study the Bible, worship God, spend time with friends and serve our community in many different ways.

Join us for Sunday Service, every week at 10am We aim to be followers of Jesus 24/7, but Sunday mornings we have an opportunity to gather together and worship as a family. Whether you’ve been a disciple of Jesus for years, or you are skeptical of Christianity and looking for answers, you are welcome. In our Sunday gatherings we will sing, study the Bible together and make time to respond to what God is doing in our lives.

ENCOURAGE, EQUIP & ENGAGE:

OUR CHURCH DNA

BRING THE WHOLE FAMILY!

CHECK-IN FOR CHILDREN'S MINISTRY IS AT THE KROC TICKET BOOTH

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY NURSERY: 3 MONTHS–3 YEARS Drop-off/Pick-up in Play Care Room

At Kroc Church, we Encourage, Equip & Engage (E3) on a daily basis as we strive to glorify God with our lives. We encourage one another into a relationship with Jesus Christ, and into healthy relationships with one another. We equip with the truth of God’s Word so that we can face our daily struggles, and we engage our community by making a difference in the lives of other people, by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, and by serving them in His name.

LIFE & FAITH SERIES

Little ones in the Nursery are well cared for by our wonderful volunteers who nurture the love of God and bring the message of the Bible to them in simple, easy to understand terms.

HUCKLEBERRIES: PRE-K & KINDERGARTEN Drop-off/Pick-up in Huckleberry Hollow Huckleberry Hollow is where our most curious and active age group meets. Kids will have plenty of fun while learning a meaningful Bible lesson. Bible verse memorization is encouraged through simple movement. Please have your children dressed for arts and crafts. Children must be fully potty trained.

KROC KIDS, TWO CLASSES: 1ST–3RD GRADES & 4TH–6TH GRADES Drop-off/Pick-up in the Community Rooms This is where the fun begins! Children in these classes are entering the age where they’re applying what they learn from the Bible into practice in their own lives. Children will engage in small group discussions where they share how they can apply what they learned from scripture to everyday life. Prayer and worship are also a focus in the lesson each week.

What we believe directs what we do and how we respond to the world around us. The Life & Faith series is designed to help strengthen your faith & grow in understanding of the many difficult topics we face in our culture. LEARN MORE ON PAGE 33.

Its goal is to encourage students to meet Jesus, equip students to grow in a relationship with Jesus, and engage students in serving humanity through the mission of Jesus. This is for students who want to know more about Jesus and what it’s like to really live the way He calls us to live. A free dinner is served every Wednesday at 6pm. Bring your Bibles and get ready to grow in the Word of God and be willing to join in the fun!

SMALL GROUPS Each week our students will have the chance to meet up in small groups based on their age and gender. This offers each student time to be cared for, prayed for, and be known. We also take the time throughout the year to serve and have fun through our small groups. Be on the lookout for times and dates on our text service and email blasts.

LESSON TIPS & TRICKS

VIEW SCHEDULE ON PAGE 22–23 PARENT & CHILD SWIM LESSONS AGES 6 MONTHS– 3 YEARS

PARENT & CHILD LEVEL 1

Parents are taught how to safely hold and work with their child in the water. Water exploration, games, and new water skills will make this class a fun experience for both of you.

PARENT & CHILD LEVEL 2

Parents and children improve and expand the swimming and safety skills learned in level one.

PRESCHOOL LEVEL 1

PRESCHOOL SWIM LESSONS AGES 4– 5 YEARS

Children may be new to the water or have prior experience. Swimmers will explore being in the water through games and learn skills such as blowing bubbles, face in the water, floating, front and back glides and rolling from front to back.

PRESCHOOL LEVEL 2

Students in these classes will learn how to bob towards safety, front float, tread water, and swim with arm and leg action on front and on back.

PRESCHOOL LEVEL 3

Swimmers will improve their freestyle form while increasing their stamina by swimming longer distances. Safety bobs, survival floats, and swimming on back will be practiced.

LEVEL 1: INTRO TO AQUATICS

Students in this class may be new swimmers or comfortable in the water. Students will learn to blow bubbles, put their face in the water, back float, front glide, roll from front to back and back to front, and swim freestyle with good form for short distances.

LEVEL 2: AQUATIC FUNDAMENTALS

• Evaluate your child’s swim ability and choose a class level, date and time. • Register for class online or at the Front Desk. Classes fill quickly. • Arrive early to check-in and familiarize your child with the facility. Please have your child ready for class at the start of the lesson time. • Families with an adult (18+) may use a cabana locker room. Please bring your own padlock if you wish to store your belongings in a locker. Group locker rooms are also available and located near the Competition Pool. • Have your child go to the bathroom before lessons. Children who are not potty trained must wear a swim diaper and plastic pants (available for purchase at the Front Desk) to prevent bathroom incidents in the pool. Please note: no refunds will be given when bathroom incidents occur. • Bring your child’s towel onto the pool deck. Keep your child warm before and after lessons. • Check in at the Swim Lesson table in the Cove Pool. Please help your child remember the Instructor’s name and the class flag color. Pass this information on to anyone who may be bringing your child to lessons.

These students will learn safety floats, jumping into the water, back glides, back stroke, elementary backstroke, and will continue to improve their form for freestyle.

• Please do not bring your child to swim lessons if they are ill. Please note: Make-up lessons are not available.

LEVEL 3: STROKE DEVELOPMENT

• At the end of the set of lessons, your Instructor will recommend the appropriate class level for the next set of lessons. Class levels are frequently repeated to allow students to master skills and feel successful before moving on to a new level.

Students have mastered the basics of freestyle and backstroke, and are ready to learn rotary breathing. Swimmers will improve their elementary backstroke form, learn dolphin kick, and will be introduced to the deep water in the competition pool for treading water and beginning diving.

LEVEL 4: STROKE IMPROVEMENT

While improving their rotary breathing, backstroke, and elementary backstroke students will learn butterfly, breaststroke, and will swim longer distances. Students will learn open turns for freestyle and backstroke and learn to dive from the side of the pool.

LEVEL 5: STROKE REFINEMENT

Students can swim full lengths of the Comp Pool and will increase their stamina and speed in all strokes through swimming drills. They are ready to learn flip turns and competitive starts from the starting blocks.

KROC SAFETY INFORMATION The Salvation Army is dedicated to keeping children and vulnerable adults safe from physical, emotional and sexual harm. We refer to our safety efforts as “Protecting The Mission.” Protecting The Mission guidelines ensure The Kroc Corps Community Center emphasizes safety in the following ways: • Salvation Army personnel (officers, employees and volunteers) are trained in child abuse prevention and are mandated reporters of suspected child/vulnerable adult abuse. • Salvation Army personnel undergo criminal background checks. • Adults accessing the facility may be screened against public sexual offender registry. • The Kroc Center maintains video surveillance of the facility 24 hours a day. • Instructors are trained in appropriate interactions with Kroc members to enhance learning by creating a safe and inviting environment. • Programs involving children are closely monitored to ensure adequate supervision and safe interactions between Kroc personnel and children. • In order to promote a safe and secure environment, The Salvation Army Kroc Center has placed video cameras in various locations. As part of our commitment to the safety of children and vulnerable persons, The Salvation Army Kroc Center reserves the right to consult public sources to determine whether any member or guest of any member poses an unreasonable risk of harm to its patrons, staff, or visitors. • The Kroc Center constantly adapts and enhances safety protocols to adjust to needs. Members & guests are encouraged to report suspicious behavior. Forms for anonymous reporting, called Confidential Notices of Concern, are available at the front desk. The Salvation Army Kroc Center reserves the right to remove from the facility and terminate the membership of any member who fails to comply with any posted rules and regulation or otherwise breaches the Code of Conduct, in which case member will not be entitled to a refund of dues.
