Welcome to the 2nd annual Next Step Bull Sale! The sale is held in the local and easily accessible Thorsby Stockyards Inc in Thorsby AB. In the heart of north central AB cattle country. A big expansion last fall truly makes TSI a great place to market cattle. Langer Fleckvieh Simmentals has another strong group of bulls this year to follow up the highly sought after group last year! There are again some real feature polled full fleck bulls. Lots of quality depth in this pen of bulls. Lyle and Pam have truly done a great job with their bulls! Nolara Farms have the largest group of bulls in the sale , half being raised at Larry and Nola’s in Mayerthorpe. The other half at Sara and Ryan’s place at Bluffton. You will find a good cross section of Fullbloods, Reds and blacks in this group. There will be some heifer bull candidates in this group. Diamond B Simmentals are new to the sale this year and we are excited to have them. Barry and Cindy have done a very nice job with their group of bulls. I was very impressed with the 3 black bulls, thick and hairy with an amazing lower quarter. These bulls truly deserve a good look! RDG Simmentals and KZ Simmentals each offer a good set of bulls. Both operations had very successful sales last year and are keen to get their bulls to town again this year for you appraisal. SKV Give Em Hell 70G is a result of embryos purchased from Boss Lake Genetics; Cobra x Elle combination. We were very excited to see these embryos hit the ground after watchin Boss Lake Ms Elle 638D; full sib to 70G; get slapped Grand Champion Simmental Female at Agribition in 2018. It is not an easy task running an embryo program though, as the birthweight of the calf is largely affected by the gestation of the recip cow. Unfortuanely this guys momma cooked him for 10 extra days, so even though his recorded birth weight is 110lbs his full siblings only average 86lbs. 70G is a long bodied, growthy bull with that desirable white face. 70G is smooth shouldered and clean through that front one third. Homo Polled/Black tests pending.

Oh, you just have to love these Rusty calves. One of the best of the old Fleckvieh bulls. No, he isn’t polled but it is worth mentioning that Rusty is the sire to one of the most used Polled Fleckvieh bulls in recent years, Starwest Pol Blueprint. You can easily see by examining Helix why the genetic package would cross so well with polled. He is very thick, awesome top line. Has really good bone structure, lots of length, good hip and walks really well on a big foot, lots of body mass and spring of rib. 100% Horned Full Fleckvieh Slash is turning out to be a well put together herd sire prospect. His sire Collide was kept back for our heifer pen but birth weights ranged from 79 lbs to 94 lbs, not perfect by no means but breeding collide to a daughter of the all-star heifer bull Radium may have gave him that extra touch of calving ease to make slash a potential candidate for the heifer pen. He shot out of his first calving mother so fast that he did a back flip fit for the Olympics and she did a great job raising him. Slash is smoother made, moderate framed , plenty of length and thickness and nicely pigmented. Slash will be well worth your consideration on sale day.

His sire was one we had big hopes for but un fortunately lost him to a shoulder injury shortly after putting him out so we only managed to get a few heifers and this stylish polled bull calf. LFS Blurr is a long, smooth made bull with adequate thickness, a little higher frame score and easy to work with. He should sire lighter birth weight calves with good growth and with viper and raptor up close in the pedigree you will want to hang on to as many females as possible. They will be awesome.

His dam has done a really good job as all our Bee Brouhaha daughters have. Valors sire was a transplant calf which we kept and used to breed the purebreds because of his genetic make up which includes the Remington 63u cow,a full sibling to the famed Lock & Load. I really like the potential of these bulls, who are sired by Great Guns Frederick 48B and a well milking cow that we raised who has tons of capacity. Both twins stayed on their mother until the middle of March when another cow had lost her calf and we put 6G on her as a replacement. Both of these guys are well-muscled, deep bodied and have a thick hide with lots of hair. Don’t let the extra bit of white bother you, they will sire those good feeding steers that the feedlots like. TERMS & CONDITIONS TERMS The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should any purchaser fail to settle for his purchase Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released.

SHIPPING Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale but no risk is assumed by the Sales Management or Seller. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement.

BID Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder.

EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void.

SALES TAXES Applicable sales taxes will be charged on semen, embryos and trucking fees (if listed), respective to the home province of the buyer, not the seller. DISPUTES In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final. PURCHASER’S RISK Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. INFORMATION SUPPLIED The information contained in this catalogue is believed to be true and accurate. However, the information has been supplied by the seller and neither Transcon Livestock Corp. or Keltey Whelan Designs assume any responsibility if the information supplied is not accurate.
