MARCH 31, 2025 1 pm

INNISFAIL AUCTION MART

Welcome to the 5th Annual Prairie Lands Bull Sale!

What a year to be in the cattle business! With record high calf prices never seen before and the futures outlook being very optimistic, it is an exciting time to be in the cattle industry! As we celebrate the fifth year of the sale, it is important to reflect on the past and look to the future. There have been many changes throughout the years, but our main goal is still the same; raising functional cattle that are fed right and will stand the test of time. The cattle on offer come from herds across British Columbia and Alberta where genetic progression is the main focus and is achieved by utilizing some of the best genetics in the Simmental industry. The heart of our consignor group is based upon raising cattle that will perform in a multitude of versatile herds across North America while being adaptive to different environments.

We are excited to welcome Johnson Land & Cattle and Lexi Peacock into the bull sale this year and look forward to this partnership going forward. It is aways exciting to have young progressive breeders eager to make their mark on the industry as they represent the future. Our consignor group is made up of new and well established breeders utilizing the best sourced genetics. A lot of time and effort goes into breeding and raising the cattle we

produce so they can go on and be successful within your herd. Your success is also our success.

This year’s offering I feel is one of the best we have put together to date. With tight feed sources felt from the drought experienced last summer, only the best of the bulls were kept to be developed for the sale. We can confidently say, the bulls presented in this catalogue are off the top of the pen and some of the best we’ve ever raised. Quality over quantity has always been our mantra and with ever rising costs, its important that we raise quality cattle that are going to have the biggest ROI for our customers. On offer this year will be Fleckvieh and red/black purebred yearling and 2-year-old bulls. We are a great group of people selling cattle to even greater people! Make sure to join us at the Innisfail Auction Mart March 31st for lunch and some hospitality, we’d love to see you there!

Sincerely ,

The Prairie Lands Consignor Group

This bull has been phenomenal from day one. He is the very definition of an all meat and no potatoes bull. He has fantastic carcass traits such as a very wide topline, a truck load of hip muscle, incredible depth of body/spring of rib while staying smooth through the shoulder. His dam, Anchor D Farissa 242F, is a no miss broody cow that catches the eye of everyone who tours the herd. This cow has an incredible track record selling females to Sunnyslope Simmentals and Diamond H Simmentals while retaining a female here in the herd. Her milking ability and udder structure is unmatched; she is the definition of a front pasture female who weaned off 410M at 921 lbs (AD 3.39 lbs/day). 410M is a big footed bull that will stand the test of time, siring steers that will demand a profit while producing females to place in the top of the heifer pen. His dam, MTV Dallas 12K, absolutely knocked it out of the park on her first calf. 12K is a big capacity brood cow with a picture perfect udder, great milking ability and fantastic feet. This young cow has a very bright future here and may very well be the start of the donor program here. There is truly not a thing I would change about 12K and 416M, it doesn’t get much better! This bull is the heaviest muscled bull of the pen showcasing that polled heifer bulls can pack on the pounds and muscle. Can we talk about that “bubble butt”!? 416M’s pedigree is chalk full of many greats within the breed such as Elevation, Supreme, Ducati and Norse, all extremely successful bulls known for longevity, calving ease and maternal ability. She weaned 421M at 842lbs (ADG 3.52 lbs/day) with ZERO creep feed. 31A is a large framed soggy cow that even at 12 yrs old has the most perfect udder with an unmatched milking ability. 31A belongs to the Laura cow family which I spoke about earlier. This cow family packed with longevity runs very heavy on bulls but the females that are born, are incredibly good! 421M is a striking bull with a twist of Fleckvieh power and red purebred performance. Having Rugged R Cavill as a grandsire adds a big shot of calving ease as Cavill has become a well known calving ease specialist. He is very wide across the top and very structurally correct when on the move. His dam, Anchor D Jermillia 170J adds an extra punch of calving ease with Virginia Precision in the pedigree. If I had one word to describe this cow, it would be refined. She is a classy cow that is very feminine with the desirable pear body shape. When I envision the perfect udder structure and milking ability, this cow comes to mind! 170J comes from a long line of proven cows at Anchor D Ranch and I have no doubt her son will work just as hard. I have used Outlook extensively in the heifer pen and they truly do not disappoint. They come small and grow right before your eyes! These calves are incredibly stylish, soggy and packed full of muscle, 46M is no different. His very round rump or “bubble butt” paired with a wide top, deep belly that leads into a smooth shoulder and head make him an ideal candidate for the heifer pen where he will not sacrifice style in his progeny. His very quiet nature is just the cherry on the cake! His dam, SKY Spiffy 203K, knocked it out of the park on her first calf, weaning 46M at 802 lbs (ADG 2.91 lbs/day). 203K is a larger framed young cow that packs a lot of muscling into a pear shaped body. If you haven’t picked up on it, udders and maternal ability are big deals around here and 203K checks all the boxes. 46M hails from the founding purebred cow family here at Skylark. Longevity is bred into the Laura cow family with 46M’s great great grand dam, DSLS Laura FF31Y, still in production at 14 yrs old. Horned, PA-Free, Sire Verified. ATTENTION Angus-based commercial herds- this is the bull for you. Your Angus cows are going to automatically knock those horns off and this bull is literally all about performance. A mid-February calf that not only had the largest weaning weight in the group at 808 adjusted weight, and a 1397 365 day adjusted weight. That is outstanding. He not only does in phenotypically, but he does it genomically as well. He ranks either par or above the top 45% in every trait within the Charolais breed. It is such a shame that he is horned. If this bull was homo polled he should have been shown and presented to the masses. Look at his picture big hip, smooth top, clean in every spot he is supposed to be. We love this bull and we think whoever takes him home is going to love him more. Consigned by Eureka Valley Charolais

Homo Polled, PA-Free, Sire Verified This little yellow bull has a lot going on for him. Filled with muscle and is going to pack a punch wherever he goes. He also has it going on with his EPD’s. Green in every category but one. I think this bull is going to get out and producer calves that are going to top the market. He also has a little more calving ease in his corner making him suitable for a lot of breeding programs.

Scurred, PA-Free, Sire Verified. This two-year-old bull we kept back for ourselves. This guy knows how to work and has gotten the job done. We used him in our heifer pen and commercial cow herd as well. No guessing game no doubts Lord as we call him is a bull on a mission. This is one more bull that hammers it out when it comes to his EPDs as well. Ranking in the top 5% and 2% in WW and YW. We lost his sire this summer to an injury, so we would be willing to work with the buyer and use the bull at their convenience.

Skeetstone is a thick bodied yearling bull. He comes from a very nice heifer JIL Classylass 129K who was purchased from Future Farms at the Alberta Selects Charolais Sale.
