Introduction

Welcome

to your Kyle Books work experience placement; we hope your time spent here will be both enjoyable and informative. Your hours of work will be 09:30am-5:30pm every day, with one hours lunch break, and you will receive £10 for each day you attend. During your placement, you should gain an insight into what goes on ‘behind-the-scenes’ of a successful publishing company, and, with departments being on one level you will get to understand what function each department plays in the day to day running of the company. Most people working for the company started out much in the same way you are, doing their fair share of placements and gaining that valuable experience after studying. Through hard work and dedication, they have managed to secure exciting and emotionally rewarding careers in publishing, and, with the same level of commitment, you can do the same. Our staff are friendly and approachable, so don’t be afraid to ask for help, or to ask them if they require your help. Remember, this placement is your time to shine and really showcase your skills, so try to present a positive attitude whenever possible. And another thing, if you are interested in purchasing any of our books, you will be entitled to a 35% discount.
