This report is concerned with the process of change in the construction industry, particularly with how its numerous capitalist units and organizations change in order to allow the appearance of innovations. Although we do not deny the action of external forces acting upon the industry our interest lies in analysing the process of change from within not from without.
The lack of a theory which would provide us with and analytical framework towards the inside of the industry, unifying economic, technical, political and social factors acting upon the process of change in its various private and public organizations, has led us to investigate a different framework for such a complex analysis.
